Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Okay, we'll start off with a character question. Who was Nikki Wood?

Answer: A slayer called in New York in the 1970s

Nikki was killed by Spike in 1977 on a subway car. He then took her long leather duster which he wears until it is destroyed in season five of "Angel" by an explosion in the Italian Wolfram and Hart. Nikki is also the mother of Robin Wood, who becomes the Principle of Sunnydale High School in season seven, and who attempts to avenge his mother's death by killing Spike. Needless to say, he fails miserably.
2. 'All slay, all the time.' In which episode was this oft-quoted phrase first spoken by Buffy?

Answer: Band Candy

This episode was written by Jane Espenson. It was the first episode she'd written for the show, and she went on to write some of the best episodes of the series, such as "Conversations With Dead people," "Superstar" and "Storyteller." After working on "Buffy," Jane wrote for more hugely popular shows such as "Battlestar Galactica" and "The Gilmore Girls."
3. Harmony and Spike had a troubled relationship, basically in which he used her shamelessly, and she followed him around like a needy puppy. Harm came up with some wonderful, yet nauseating nicknames for Spike while they were a couple, but which of these did she NOT call him?

Answer: Buttercup

She also called him 'my little lamb,' at one point. He called her such romantic names as 'my little foam latte,' 'mon petit creme brulee,' and 'my little mentholated pack of smokes.'
4. Which Bronze performer (aside from Oz, Devon and Veruca) is the only guest musician to have a line in the show?

Answer: Aimee Mann

The line is 'Man, I hate playing vampire towns,' and is said as she leaves the club after witnessing Spike in a spectacular fight with a nameless female vampire whom he dusts as she is thrown over the balcony. Clearly, Aimee's no stranger to this happening in clubs, and begins playing again pretty quickly.
5. Who, or what, is Sineya?

Answer: The First Slayer

Sineya was made into the Slayer by the Shadow Men, and was mentioned by name in the spell Willow cast in "Primeval" in season four. In the "Tales Of the Slayers" book, we are told that Sineya was cast out from a village she'd saved from vampires, because the villagers feared her even more than the demons.
6. In season three's "Enemies," the opening scene shows Buffy and Angel leaving the cinema after having seen an apparently extremely evocative film, which prompts Buffy to ask if Angel wants 'some hot chocolate, or some cold shower'? What was the name of the film they saw?

Answer: Marquee: Le Banquet D'Amelia

Apparently they thought it'd be about food. "Marquee: Le Banquet D'Amelia" is not a real film, but the wrong answers I provided are real French films, all released in 1999, when this episode went out.
7. 'The nose hole seems sad and full of self-loathing.' What is Oz talking about?

Answer: The pumpkin Xander's carved for Halloween

This is from the early season four episode "Fear, Itself". In this episode, the gang go to a haunted house theme party for Halloween, and their fears materialise in front of them. In "Fear, Itself" we are told that demons don't go out at Halloween because they find it 'crass.'
8. When Buffy presents the dagonsphere to Giles for the first time in season five, he proclaims it to be 'paranormal in origin.' What is his reasoning?

Answer: Because it's so shiny

There's nothing that brightens up an episode like a spot of Giles' humour. The dagonsphere was used to repel and weaken Glory in the season final "The Gift" until the Buffybot threw it at her and she crushed it. Then, the Buffybot had her head kicked off.
9. In season five's "Tough Love," Anya finds three things 'Un-American.' Which of these things is NOT on that list?

Answer: Capitalism

Anya's proclamation of what was 'Un-American' came about because of her realisation that she was not only newly human - she was also an American. Anya was actually born in the year 860 in a small village in Scandinavia, where she grew up raising rabbits, ironically.
10. For the last question, something about the last episode seems appropriate. So - what line is repeated almost exactly by Giles in "Chosen" that he said years before at the end of "The Harvest" in season one?

Answer: 'The Earth is doomed.'

The line he says in "The Harvest" differs slightly; it is 'the Earth is definitely doomed,' however, Joss Whedon has said that it was a direct reference to it. Another reference in this episode is Willow's line 'Oh my Goddess.' Contrary to popular belief, that's not just what a Wicca says instead of 'Oh my God' - it's a reference to the "Charmed" episode of the same name, because both shows aired on the WB.
