Rust beats them up and then strangles one guy into telling what the address is to the Ranch. He is shown to do this alone after leaving Marty in the car. He then tells the route to Marty who drives off to the Ranch. They then arrive there and see lots of girls around.

They are shown meeting a woman who knows something about the victim and then go on to meet another underage girl who tells them about her.

Rust said that the meth user believed that he was purifying his baby. He says that he was then asked to become a floating undercover officer to avoid being prosecuted. He says he was in this position for four years until he killed three cartel members, was wounded and then admitted to a psychiatric hospital.

In this scene, he is telling the detectives about how the doctors said that his daughter didn't feel any pain when she went into a coma and then died due to an accident. He tells them that he thinks his daughter was spared from the troubles of the world.

He is shown to ask the detectives if they have kids and both of them respond in the positive. Before this scene, we see a scene that shows Marty and his wife having a fight.

The painting is of the body a girl who has been killed and made to kneel down with antlers on her head and completely naked. This resembles the position of the body of Dora Kelly Lange as they found her at the crime scene. This church they found from the diary is shown to be half destroyed with the walls somehow intact, with paintings of verses from the "Bible" and this painting resembling the way the victim was found.
