"The King of Queens" is an American sitcom that premiered in 1998 and ended its nine-season run in 2007. The funniest part of the show, in my opinion, is the characterization of various quirky and charming personalities. Hopefully my descriptions suffice

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The primary character of the show is a package-delivery driver. He is played by a stand up comedian and has appeared in every episode of the show. Who is he?

Answer: Doug

Douglas (Doug) Heffernan is played by the hilarious Kevin James, and the show details his life with his wife and friends, as well as his eccentric father-in-law, in Queens. Doug is a carefree Average Joe. He enjoys playing and watching sports, and is constantly teased about his overweight appearance and occasional absentmindedness.

In the season finale, Doug adopts a Chinese baby moments before finding out that his wife is pregnant.
2. This other primary character is the show's female lead. Her maiden name was Spooner, but what is her first name?

Answer: Carrie

Carrie Heffernan is Doug's wife and is played by Leah Remini. She is generally good-natured and ambitious, but on many occasions overreacts, being especially intolerant of her husband's lies and lack of ambition. She has few friends due to her overtly honest nature, but is shown to be very responsible and caring, as a result of childhood turbulence.
3. The third main character in the show is a "crazy old man that lives in the basement". He is of course who?

Answer: Arthur

Arthur Spooner is played by Jerry Stiller, and his role is that of a manipulative, paranoid, loud and quirky old man. He tends to focus on little details and turn mountains into molehills. He generally commits several social faux-pas and tells stories of disgusting or sexual natures. Due to his mental instability and bankruptcy, he is incapable of living on his own and resorts to living with his daughter and son-in-law.
4. What is the friend who is also a delivery driver, and is the tall, thin, African-American man, named?

Answer: Deacon Palmer

Deacon Palmer (played by Victor Williams) is Doug's best friend and co-worker. He lives in New York with his two kids and wife, Kelly. Deacon is often the voice of reason in the group, and tends to behave calmly and maturely, unlike Doug. He is shown to be very close to the Heffernans, as he was Doug's best man and appointed the couple to be his child's godparents.
5. This friend is a socially-awkward, highly allergic, and easy-to-pick-on subway token salesman. Who is he?

Answer: Spence

Patton Oswald plays Spence Olchin, whose entire life revolves around fear of social rejection and paranoia. He was severely bullied in high school and continues to be bullied as an adult. Although his friends do joke about his many problems, he is a firm and irreplaceable part of the group.
6. Name this friend who used to own a pizza restaurant before he lost the business. His wife also cheated on him and left him. Who is this?

Answer: Danny

Danny Heffernan (played by Gary Valentine, Kevin James' brother) is a slightly less pathetic version of Spence. Danny once owned his own business before his life went downhill. He finally managed to straighten things out as his cousin Doug helped him secure a job as a delivery driver. He is Spence's roommate, and many scenes center around their fight for superiority.
7. This lady is an alcoholic dog-walker who happens to have a different boyfriend in each episode. She was introduced in season 4 as who?

Answer: Holly

Holly Shumpert (Nicole Sullivan) was the first secondary female character introduced in season 4. She is the neighborhood dog-walker, but instead walks Arthur for the Heffernans. Although she is sweet and passive, she constantly makes bad life decisions and dates several unsuitable men.

In the eighth season, Holly gets engaged to a decent guy, but later leaves him in season 9. Spence and Danny constantly battle for her affection, which she makes clear they will never receive.
8. This recurring character is the only one to play himself, is also a victim of constant "Hulk" jokes. Who is this famous television actor?

Answer: Lou Ferrigno

An entire episode is dedicated to Lou Ferrigno moving in next door, and Doug, Carrie, and Arthur rush outside, in turn, to take a good look at him. Arthur spends the remainder of the episode trying to get Lou to read improved versions of his Hollywood script. Lou later becomes friends with Doug and joins the group, and is seen several times throughout the show playing poker with them or just hanging out.
9. Played by Anne Meara, this character ends up married in the series finale. Who is a maid in one episode, and a guinea pig for testing medication in another?

Answer: Veronica

Veronica Olchin is Spence's mother, and has always had a soft spot for Arthur (Anne Meara's real-life husband, Jerry Stiller). Like her son, a part of the show's comedy centers on her being ridiculed as pathetic and unattractive. In the series finale, when Arthur's intended wife leaves him due to a misunderstanding, Veronica steps in and marries him. Arthur later leaves her and comes back to live in the Heffernans' basement.
10. This character was written out during the third season due to actor Larry Romano's desire to leave the show and work somewhere else. He is a ladies' man and a firefighter. Who is he?

Answer: Richie

Before Danny becomes a show regular, Richie is the "fourth friend" in the group, and is known for his perceived promiscuity and general slow-witted demeanor. He was quietly written out of the third season, where he appeared in only one episode, and no explanation is given by the other characters for his departure.
