Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In what country was "Wolf Like Me" both set and filmed?

Answer: Australia

Characters Gary Fletcher and his daughter Emma live in Adelaide, Australia, as does the character Mary. The series was filmed in the Inner West of Sydney in the suburbs of Forest Lodge, Glebe, Ashfield and Ashbury, Western Sydney and regional NSW. The programme was released in Australia, Canada, the US, and the UK.
2. How did Gary and Mary first meet?

Answer: an automobile accident

Gary and Mary's lives cross when they are involved in an automobile accident with each other. This event seems mundane, even inconsequential, but leads to interest in each other, which eventually leads to love.
3. What does Mary say that her occupation is?

Answer: advice columnist

Mary is an advice columnist who seeks to guide others while working out her own (many) personal issues. Skill and the ability to help others with their problems does not necessarily assure the ability to help one's own self.
4. Why is Lisa, Gary's previous wife and Emma's mother, not living with them?

Answer: she died of cancer

Seven years before the setting of this series, Lisa died. Both Gary and Emma are struggling with issues of grief because of their loss.
5. What happened to Mary's former husband David?

Answer: she ate him

One of the reasons that Mary is so concerned about protecting Gary and Emma from herself is that she attacked, killed and ate her husband, because of her lycanthropy.
6. What is Emma's relationship with Trevor?

Answer: He is her psychiatrist

Gary, thinking that Emma is having a difficult time with her mental state as a consequence of her grief for her mother, arranges for her to see Trevor, a child psychiatrist. Emma is not particularly open to this offered help and seeks to discontinue the relationship.
7. Where did Mary usually go during the full moon?

Answer: a strong room in her home basement

In order to prevent further killing of humans, Mary built a wolf-proof fortress/dungeon in her house's basement. She locks herself in it with some animals to kill and eat, as a substitute for killing people.
8. How did Mary and Gary get back together after deciding not to see each other again?

Answer: an automobile accident

The importance of automobile accidents in bringing Mary and Gary together suggests some sort of act of God or hand of the Fates or a Higher Power nudging them toward each other. The later accident leads to a home-dinner invitation (made by Emma) which reunited Gary and Mary.
9. How did Mary show some concern for the animals she killed?

Answer: she ate only chickens soon to die anyway

Mary was sorry that animals had to die to satisfy her hunger. Only live animals would "work" so she limited herself to chickens. In Episode 3, she told Gary "And only ones that are old or have diseases or disabilities."
10. How did this mini-series end?

Answer: Gary, Mary and Emma became a family

In the concluding episode, Gary, Mary and Emma go to the outback for a picnic where their car becomes disabled and a coming full moon threatens to end the relationship badly. Mary flees to avoid this but returns to save Gary and Emma from bandits (who she kills and eats). Driving home to Adelaide, the smiles on their faces suggests that this is the new Fletcher family, despite its challenges.
