Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When Hoffman rose from the dead in the autopsy room, what did he first say to Scully?

Answer: "I'm gonna need that when you're done."

Scully was weighing his heart and he sat up and told her that he'd need it back. Scully was understandably dumbfounded and dropped her scalpel when he prevented her from using it on him. She bent down to pick it up and cut her finger, and when she stood, Hoffman was back on the autopsy table, inanimate as expected.
2. What did Scully find in Hoffman's stomach with the strychnine?

Answer: red wine

The agents concluded that O'Fallon had poisoned the communion wine and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
3. In response to Scully's defense that the dead man had had Hoffman's ID on him, Skinner said, "Agent Scully, if I'm carrying Marilyn Monroe's purse, do you assume that I slept with ..." who?

Answer: JFK

Scully and Mulder seemed unsure how to respond to Skinner's tirade and logic. I suppose the comment was based on the affair between Monroe and the former President allegedly documented on tape through various wiretaps.
4. After Scully and Mulder were put on probation, they returned to Mulder's office where they found Chuck Burks with the Lazarus Bowl. He told them that he had found spoken words on the bowl's audible emanations. What language were the words in?

Answer: Aramaic

The first part of the spoken track, a play on Beatles lyrics and lore, said "I am the walrus. I am the walrus. Paul is dead. Coo coo ca choo." The second part was more interesting: one man commanding another to rise from the dead.
5. What movie was Mulder watching in his apartment?

Answer: Plan Nine from Outer Space

He'd apparently seen the movie 42 times, which made Scully sad. Mulder described it as "the Ed Wood investigative method. This movie is so profoundly bad in such a childlike way that it hypnotizes my conscious critical mind and frees up my right brain to make socio-poetic leaps, and I started flashing on Hoffman and O'Fallon. How there is this archetypal relationship, like Hoffman's Jesus to O'Fallon's Judas or Hoffman's Jesus to O'Fallon's Dostoyevsky's Grand Inquisitor or Hoffman's Jesus to O'Fallon's Saint Paul." Scully countered with "How about Hoffman's Roadrunner to O'Fallon's Wile E. Coyote?"
6. When Wayne introduced Scully and Mulder to Garry Shandling and Tea Leoni, who professed to being a fan of Leoni's?

Answer: Mulder

With creepy stalker aplomb, he said "Big fan. Fox Mulder." Leoni looked a bit repelled and said simply, "Huh, no kidding." Then Mulder glanced over at Shandling, who raised his eyes from Mulder's crotch. Later, Scully told Mulder she thought Leoni liked him, which he denied. Of course, in real life, Leoni was married to David Duchovny.
7. What did Leoni ask Scully to show her?

Answer: how to run in heels

As Mulder and Shandling spoke, Scully ran back and forth in the background. This was one of the most hilarious scenes I've ever seen!
8. Mulder told Shandling that he dressed to the right.

Answer: False

Mulder seemed confused, but said he dressed "mostly to the left." Shandling didn't understand what he meant by "mostly" and Mulder clarified, "Most of the time." That prompted Shandling to head off to the wardrobe department. This exchange seemed to be about Mulder's sexual preference, though unbeknownst to Mulder himself. Shandling seemed to be trying to ask whether or not Mulder was gay.

This is particularly funny because David Duchovny used to do guest spots on Garry Shandling's HBO show, "The Larry Sanders Show", in which Duchovny played himself guesting on Sanders' nightly talk show.

He would frequently make sexual overtures that caused Sanders discomfort. Here the tables were partially turned, with Shandling checking Mulder out and questioning his sexual orientation, but Mulder was oblivious to what might have been implied. Later, when Scully suggested that she thought Shandling liked Mulder a bit, he seemed intrigued by the idea!
9. What was Leoni's shoulder made of?

Answer: turkey

The zombie took a bite of it and stopped the scene. When told it was turkey, he exploded: "Tofu turkey! Tofurkey! I asked for tofurkey! I'm a vegetarian! Half the zombies are vegetarians! Oh my god!" Then he stormed off. Great irony in the idea of flesh-eating zombies being played by emphatically vegetarian actors!
10. Where were the agents during the three-way call?

Answer: bathtubs

Mulder said he was working on the computer and Scully claimed she was packing. Only Skinner fessed up to taking a bubble bath.
11. What did Mulder NOT theorize zombies would do after eating?

Answer: sleep

Mulder told Scully that he thought zombies would come back to earth to do all the things they missed from when they were alive, which he concluded were eating, drinking, dancing, and then making love. People never got to see zombies after the eating stage, though, so never experienced the kinder, "gentler" zombies.
12. Who did Movie Scully profess being in love with?

Answer: Skinner

When Movie Mulder asked what Skinner had that he didn't, Movie Scully replied, "A bigger flashlight."
13. Who killed Micah Hoffman?

Answer: Cardinal O'Fallon

O'Fallon murdered him in his home and then hanged himself. Mulder was dismayed that the two people, whom he clearly admired and respected, would be remembered through the trashy movie.
14. What did Skinner give the agents to use for the evening?

Answer: bureau credit card

Apparently, he was tickled by the movie.
15. What did the dead do at after Scully and Mulder left the set?

Answer: dance

A tree branch bent down and touched the prop Lazarus Bowl, bringing music that rose the dead. The came up from the set and started dancing happily.
