This game - when released in 2000 - was bundled along with some Playstation 2 consoles. This was one of the first games for the Playstation 2.

Nobunaga Oda was in 'Dynasty Warriors 1' as a secret character - which makes NO sense considering he wouldn't be born for another 1300 years and in a different country! He is one of the main characters for Koei's spin-off series 'Samurai Warriors'.

Answer: A shooting star appears and the Wei army advances.

Zhuge Liang historically died of illness during this battle, however he foresaw this and incorporated it into his battle strategy. The Shu army therefore won this battle. However, in this game, Jiang Wei is relegated to an ambush officer as opposed to Shu's tactical successor.

Answer: He is the only non-playable Grand Commander.

He is only present in the Yellow Turban rebellion and never appears in the game again. However, in later games, other Grand Commanders become non-playable such as Zhang Xiu and Huang Zu.

Answer: Wind, Falling Rocks, Nothing.

Zhang Bao uses the wind against the oncoming Wei army and He Jin's forces. Zhang Liang uses falling rocks against the oncoming Wu army and He Jin's forces. There is a cutscene with Zhang Jiao where he summons fire in his hands and kills people in the cutscene, but during the game, he does nothing.

Answer: The memory card icon is spread throughout the battlefield, once you find it you save the game.

In each level, there are 2 or 3 boxes which give you the save icon. After a save, your health and musou bar are fully replenished.

Answer: Liu Chan which gives you 2000 points, and an attack plus 10.

Liu Chan is found hidden in the Chang Ban stage. The attack plus 10 is received for defeating Xiahou En (Any stage), Zhao Yun (Chang Ban), and Zhang Liao (He Fei).

The 8 are Cao Cao, Xiahou Dun, Xiahou Yuan, Sun Jian, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Zhang Jiao (the enemy commander). This is the only level Zhang Jiao appears in, as it's the level of his death.

The only 5 which do not get a musou mode are Lu Bu, Dong Zhuo, Diao Chan, Yuan Shao and Zhang Jiao. These characters are given musou modes in the expansion pack to Koei's 'Dynasty Warriors 3' entitled: 'Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends'

Wei's strategist is Sima Yi. Shu's are Zhuge Liang and Jiang Wei. The 'Other' Forces have none, and Wu has Lu Xun, Lu Meng and Zhou Yu.

Answer: Obtain 1000 KOs during Hu Lao Gate.

Obtaining 1000 KOs has an extra effect - it raises the morale of every officer in your army to 8 stars (the maximum). This has a very noticable effect as none of your officers can be defeated by any enemy officer who has less than 8 stars in their morale.

The 12 officers are Dong Zhuo, Lu Bu, Diao Chan, Zhang Liao, Sun Jian, Yuan Shao, Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Xiahou Dun and Xiahou Yuan. Dong Zhuo, Lu Bu and Diao Chan do not appear again, however Zhang Liao joins Wei after this battle and is fighting for Cao Cao at Guan Du.

Answer: No.

Other than Lu Bu, none of the characters have special requirements. This is changed in 'Dynasty Warriors 3' where certain requirements - such as Sun Quan jumping over a bridge - need to be met before the character is unlocked.

Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Yuan Shao, Zhang Fei, Guan Yu, Xiahou Dun, Xiahou Yuan, Xu Zhu, Zhang Liao and Dian Wei are the 10 famous officers that appear in this battle. This is Yuan Shao's last battle in the game as he is defeated here. When Guan Yu is close to Liu Bei and Zhang Fei, all 3 disappear from the level entirely.
