"Final Fantasy VII" Weapons! Trivia Quiz

This large sword belonged to Zack but when he died he gave it to Cloud. You find this out in the game if you visit Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim after Cloud finds himself but this is entirely optional. Zack however received this sword from his mentor Angeal but you only find this out in "Final Fantasy: Crisis Core" and also you find this out in the film "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children".

You find Tifa's Ultimate weapon in the broken Item shop in Wall Market during Disc 3 of the game. Tifa's Ultimate weapon has a very strange ability. This weapons power relies upon how much of Tifa's Limit Break bar is filled. If it is low the weapons attack power is very low (it will hit below 100) as her Limit Break bar fills the weapon grows in power.

When Tifa is almost ready to use her Limit Break the weapon is very, very powerful (and can hit with the maximum damage of 9999). This is the only reason I do not use Tifa in my party as this lets her battle effectiveness down.

Barret is the first character in the game who can change his weapon. The Assualt Gun is only slightly more poweful than his original weapon the Gatling Gun but it also has an extra Materia slot. He cannot change his weapon again though until you get onto the World Map.

Aeris receives this weapon in a chest in the Temple of the Ancients when you go through door number 4 in the Clock room. It is also the only Ultimate weapon that has less than eight linked Materia slots (it has seven, six linked and one single) and also is the only Ultimate weapon that allows Materia growth.

The Striking staff can first be obtained in the Train Graveyard in Midgar by stealing it form a monster called Eligor (it can be bought from the shop in Gongaga and from Junon in Disc 2). The Parasol or Umbrella (it is called differently by different people but both answers are right) is actually more physically powerful than her Ultimate weapon but it has no Materia slots so is pretty useless in that respect, you obtain this if you score 5000+ points on the Roller Coaster game in Speed Square at the Gold Saucer.

The Aurora Rod is her second best weapon and this can only be bought in Wutai.

All the characters can gain their respective Ultimate weapons on Disc 2 or Disc 3. The exception to this is Aeris as I have said above. As for Yuffie's weapon you find it in the downed Gelnika Airplane when you gain the submarine, all other Ultimate weapons have to be gotten at a later date.

He is actually equipped with the Mythril Clip when he joins your party and he also has the Fire and All Materia together in a linked slot which is a help against the boss. When you return to Midgar later in the game on Disc 2 there is another weapon (the Behemoth Horn) that you can get for him on the incredibly long staircase but this is completely optional.

Cait Sith comes already equipped with the Yellow Megaphone. The Silver and Black Megaphone can both be bought in Junon on Disc 2 or 3 however they can both be picked up for free. The Black Megaphone can be found in the Cave of the Gi in Cosmo Canyon and the Silver one can be found in Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim.

This weapon is the strongest weapon Vincent can obtain apart from his Ultimate weapon which is the above named Death Penalty. The Sniper CR can be obtained in the Nibel Mountains and the Peacemaker can be picked up in Kalm Town even if you haven't already found Vincent.

The Scimitar is picked up from a chest when hijacking the submarine at Junon. The Sprit Lance which is Cid's second strongest weapon (his Ultimate weapon the Venus Gospel is his strongest) is found in the crashed Gelnika airplane. The Dragoon Lance can be found just inside a cave in the Da-Chao mountains in Wutai.

The Grow Lance can be picked up in the Shinra Building if you go there when you go to Midgar in disc 2.

This weapon is another weapon found in the Ancient Forest and you must reach the final screen (of which there is four) and enter a cave to find this weapon. The Enhance Sword is found when climbing Gaea's Cliff. Heaven's Cloud is another weapon that can be found in the crashed Gelinka and you gain the Ragnarok (Cloud's second strongest weapon, Ultima Weapon is his most powerful) after defeating the Proud Clod in Midgar.
