Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first entry in the series contains the infamous fan-named Peninsula of Power. What is so special about this well-named location?

Answer: It is contains inordinately strong enemies not meant to be fought early in the game

If the player wanders into this two-tile-wide peninsula from Pravoka, they are at risk of encountering enemies from the Lufenia region - much stronger foes, as this is a late-game area. This is due to an oversight on the map of the developers in terms of mapping out the regions where certain monsters are fought.

As a result, prepared players can benefit from large experience gains resulting from victories there.
2. "Final Fantasy II" features an easily missed weapon that yields no stats boosts but, due to an invisible property it boasts, deals heaps of damage to two of the most powerful bosses in the title. What is this sword called?

Answer: Blood Sword

The Blood Sword could be acquired from the otherwise-inconsequential NPC Paul in his house after the cyclone wreaks havoc on the overworld.
3. Which of these is a Thief in "Final Fantasy III" not capable of?

Answer: Stealing from enemies 100 percent of the time

Thievery is a disappointing attribute for Thieves in the title, with a low success rate and poor rewards. Their ability to lockpick and flee 100 percent of the time are more viable reasons for using this underwhelming class. Their most powerful weapon is the legendary Gladius.
4. Which of these items is not among of the rarest drops - 1/256 chance of obtaining after victory - in "Final Fantasy IV"?

Answer: Pink Tail

The Pink Tail, which is highly valued for its use in acquiring Adamantite Armor, can be won from a Flan Princess in the Lunar Subterrae at a 1/64 rate. The Artmis Bow can be obtaining after defeating a mob of Dark Sages/Moonmaidens on the Moon. The Glass Mask is dropped by the Deathmask in the Crystal Palace. All of Rydia's hidden summons - Goblin, Cockatrice, Bomb, and Mindflayer - share the 1/256 rate.

These odds notably do not improve when more of the monsters that drop the item are present.
5. What antagonist of the challenging "Final Fantasy V" seeks to control the destructive void and return all of lifeforms - including himself - to it?

Answer: Exdeath

Exdeath's plan is revealing late into the title. Gilgamesh is his comical lackey and has become a fan favorite as a recurring joke antagonist. Garland, the first named character in the "Final Fantasy" series is a boss who appears early in the original Final Fantasy.

Another Garland is a primary antagonist in "Final Fantasy IX." Golbez is a primary antagonist in "Final Fantasy IV" and, like Exdeath, is a dark sorcerer.
6. In "Final Fantasy VI", how does Kefka commit genocide on nearly the entire kingdom of Doma?

Answer: Poison

When we first meet this joker of an Empire villain, he is on to Edgar's ruse of siding with the Empire, so he torches his castle as the party escapes on Chocobo. He later poisons Doma, killing the entire population except for Cyan, who flees to the nearby camp for revenge before joining our party. Fellow Empire leaders disapprove of his reckless methods, both the conflicted, if benevolent General Leo and the heartless Emperor Gestahl. Kefka activates a crane to assault the party as they flee the Magitek Research Facility.
7. In "Final Fantasy VII", how many floors does Shinra Headquarters have?

Answer: 70

The top floor is the upper level of the Executive Suite, the office of President Shinra. On the roof, there is a helipad. Certain floors are only accessible in the remake.
8. Limit Breaks - a fixture of "Final Fantasy VII" - return in "Final Fantasy VIII." What is the name of the rare spell that increases the chances of a Limit Break appearing?

Answer: Aura

Only Seifer carries this spell, making it elusive to draw. Limit Breaks are similar in "VIII" in that they are unique to each character, but require that the party member activating it be at low health rather than sustain a set amount of damage.
9. In "Final Fantasy IX", which Stellazio can be found in Daguerreo?

Answer: Capricorn

It is hidden on the right side of the entrance. Aries is found the windmill in Dali upon revisiting the village. Sagittarius is found in the Business District of Lindblum. The player may only acquire Ophiuchus after handing over the first 12 Stellazio to Queen Stella in Treno; It is found in the same location as Pisces.
10. In "Final Fantasy X", the reward for winning the first Blitzball Tournament in Luca, Tidus learns his father's legendary technique, the Jecht Shot.

Answer: False

By completing the challenge of winning the game in spite of Wakka's injury, the player will be rewarded with a Strength Sphere. Tidus can indeed learn the Jecht Shot, but this can only be achieved by performing the correct inputs after a cutscene on the S.S. Winno. Should the player fail during this attempt, they may return to reattempt the challenge by taking the ferry back to Luca later in the game.
