Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of Kratos's daughter?

Answer: Calliope

Proserpina is the Roman equivalent of Persephone who is the goddess of the Underworld, Minerva is the Roman equivalent of Athena who is the goddess of wisdom, and Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of beauty and love. Throughout the game an apparition of Calliope haunts Kratos and lures him to Persephone.
2. Which titan seen in Tartarus is not free of bondage?

Answer: Hyperion

Atlas is the titan who is freed, Rhea is the mother of Zeus, and Prometheus gives fire to man and is in "God of War II". In "God of War II", Kratos exterminates Prometheus by burning him alive.
3. Who is the owner of the boat/ferry that rides along the Styx river?

Answer: Charon

Hephaestus makes the Gauntlet of Zeus, Argos is a minion of Hera, and Odysseus is from Homer's "Odyssey". Charon takes the lost souls back and forth in the underworld.
4. What creature of the Persian army does Kratos defeat?

Answer: Basilisk

Minotaur are encountered throughout the series but not as the Persian armies minion, and Sirens use their voice to lure men at sea to their deaths. The Kraken is a sea monster that is remembered by its wonderful performance in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest". Basilisk traditionally are snakes and their mere vision can turn a man to stone.
5. Where does Kratos have to decide to leave his daughter?

Answer: Elysian fields

Tartarus is where the titans are locked up, Yggdrasil is a tree that is the foundation of Norse mythology, and a labyrinth is the same thing as a maze. This scene was voted one of the most intense moments in gaming history with Kratos, in a button tap sequence, constantly shoving away his own daughter. If he were to stay with Calliope, every one would die and even the Elysian fields would be destroyed leaving no resting place for anyone.
6. What two Olympian Gods or Goddesses save Kratos from a fatal fall and leave him on his own at the end of the game?

Answer: Zeus and Athena

Atlas is a titan and Poseidon is usually in the sea, and Hera does not worry about the affairs of Kratos. Odin and Freya are in Norse mythology. Athena is so close to Zeus even though she disagrees with some of his methods, but this bond is close enough for Athena to take a blade of chaos to the chest in "God of War 2".
7. Who is the God that makes darkness everywhere and puts the Olympians to sleep?

Answer: Morpheus

Poseidon is the god of the sea and earthquakes, Helios is the god of the sun who drives the chariot around the world, and Atlas is the titan who holds the world on his shoulders. Morphine derives from Morpheus because it also inhibits sleep and placidity.
8. Who frees Atlas?

Answer: Persephone

Hera is Zeus's wife and Athena was born from Zeus head after Zeus ate Metis. Aphrodite is wedded to Hephaestus, who in the game made the gauntlet of Zeus. In the game, Persephone is fed up that the gods and goddesses have done nothing to save her from bondage in the underworld.
9. Eos is the goddess of what?

Answer: Dawn

The god of fire would be Helios, and Night could be attributed to Morpheus who is the god of dreams. Shiva is the goddess of ice in the "Final Fantasy" series. Eos happens to be Helios sister.
10. What kind of seed does Persephone eat thus forcing her to stay in the Underworld as the wife of Hades?

Answer: Pomegranate

Mustard seed is mentioned in the Bible, olives have a pit, and figs make good spread for toast. Persephone can not leave the underworld if she eats anything while there, and she winds up eating a pomegranate seed. In Vietnam the pomegranate symbolizes summer. Persephone's plight doesn't seem so sunny!
