Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Ray Gun

Answer: Beam Rifle

The Beam Rifle is a Covenant weapon introduced in "Halo 2". Used by Jackals from long-range, this gun is the Covenant equivalent of the human Sniper Rifle-- it's designed to take accurate shots and eliminate threats from afar. It can, however, be used at close range, though likely not to the same effect.

The gun is designed to shoot a narrow beam of plasma to defeat foes and, like other plasma-powered weapons, can overheat if shot off too many times in succession.
2. Burial hole brain

Answer: Gravemind

The Gravemind is the name for the hivemind of The Flood, the race of parasitic beings for which the Halos were constructed in the first place; the Halos were made to wipe out The Flood's primary food source-- sentient life. For a short time, Master Chief needs to work alongside the Gravemind to prevent the Covenant from locating the index and activating the second Halo ring.

In fact, the Gravemind retrieves his body after he fights the High Prophet of Regret. In the end of the game, Master Chief leaves Cortana behind with the Gravemind, spurring some of the events of "Halo 3".
3. Lifeforce blade

Answer: Energy Sword

The Energy Sword is a Covenant melee weapon; it's a sharp blade designed for rushing through enemies and while it has a certain amount of 'ammo' before it runs out of charge (much like all other Covenant weapons) it's very strong, able to take out most enemies in a single swipe.

This weapon is only used by Elites and Elite Guards though, on occasion, you'll start a level with it. Later on in the game, a second Covenant melee weapon, the Fist of Rukt, appears with larger enemies. It acts in the same way, but is actually a heavy maul.
4. Ruffian

Answer: Brute

Brutes are the new big, bad enemies of "Halo 2". Fought alongside earlier on, the Brutes rebel in the latter half of the game, taking the Index for themselves in order to enact their prophecy and activate the ring once and for all. Brutes are much stronger than Elites, packing more of a punch with Carbines and Brute Shot grenade launchers than most others.

At a point, some Brutes will go berserk, running at enemies with forceful tackles. The final boss of the game, Tartarus, is also a Brute. Brutes become main antagonists in "Halo 3" and reappear in "Halo 3: ODST".
5. The Mediator

Answer: The Arbiter

The second playable character of this game (and "Halo 3"), the Arbiter is a Covenant Elite who, after betraying and failing the Covenant in previous battles, was taken up by the High Prophets to become the Arbiter, a near-suicidal role. When push-comes-to-shove, this allows the Arbiter to head certain Covenant forces in battle, more after the Brutes cause revolt, and he becomes an important figure during the battle to stop the Halos from detonating.

The Arbiter is first playable in the level entitled 'The Arbiter', set in a Forerunner facility.
6. Ring of fourth Greek letter

Answer: Delta Halo

'Delta Halo' is the eighth level of the game and in it you play as Master Chief. In this stage of the game you land on the Delta Halo and move onward to kill the Prophet of Regret (which is done in the proceeding level). Most of the stage is completed outside, but heading indoors you'll come face to face with the Elite Guards for the first time (always a treat).

This also happens to be one of the last stages of the game in which you don't fight The Flood (also always a treat).
7. Fight musket

Answer: Battle Rifle

Although I typically (accidentally) look up at my screen and read 'Butter Knife', this weapon is actually a human-made gun, much like the typical Assault Rifle in many ways, only it fires in burst shots and has a scope. First found in the first level, you'll only find them dropping off human forces or you can take them from the hands of your comrades if need-be.

The Battle Rifle is more precise than a number of other guns-- a smaller crosshair allows for better, more accurate shots, even at a distance.
8. Egyptian capital terminal

Answer: Cairo Station

Cairo Station, the first level of fighting in the game, takes place on a space station surrounding Earth. As Master Chief you need to protect the humans from boarding Covenant forces of all types who begin to flood the loading bays and corridors of the setting.

At the end of the level, Master Chief will drop down to the surface after destroying the Covenant ship; the game will continue with the battles taking place in New Mombasa before it's destroyed by a trip through a slipstream.
9. Toothed rodent river

Answer: Beaver Creek

Beaver Creek appears as a multiplayer level in "Halo 2". Virtually a rebuild of Battle Creek in "Halo: Combat Evolved", it's comprised of two bases and a lush patch of land with a waterfall. Beaver Creek is one of twenty-six different multiplayer stages found in the game, all of which can be played with up to four players locally; online multiplayer for the game ended in April 2010.

Other reappearing tracks include Coagulation (originally Blood Gulch) and Elongation (originally Longest).
10. Lofty donation

Answer: High Charity

A Covenant capital/space station, the High Charity is the final destination of Master Chief during the events of "Halo 2". Sent here by the Gravemind, Master Chief battles his way through angry Covenant forces before the Flood (aboard the infected In Amber Clad) make their appearance and only serve to muck things up.

By the time Master Chief finishes what he set out to do here, he's already hopping the next ride back to Earth aboard the Forerunner Dreadnought. Meanwhile, The Arbiter takes on the Flood and the Brutes to prevent the Sacred Icon/The Index from being used.

This ends with a battle against Tartarus, but the final battle is far from over.
