5. Deceased expanse of stars and planets

From Quiz Video Games - In Other Words 4

Answer: Dead Space

"Dead Space", released on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, was a survival-horror game with possibly the creepiest atmosphere ever seen in the world of video gaming. Pretty much the entire game takes place on a mining ship, the Ishimura. The main character uses the weapons and items at his disposal in order to make repairs to his crashed ship and fend off evil, parasitic aliens and the environment is beyond scary. Dark hallways, flickering lights, a perfectly-executed soundtrack, and periods of silence in outer space all add to the overall descent into the hellish expanse of space and ultimately, a nightmare. The worst part about it- simply severing an enemy's head won't do the trick. Unless you sever all the appendages of an enemy alien, it'll keep swinging at you. On top of all of this, the protagonist is searching for his girlfriend, also on the ship, who keeps sending him cryptic messages. Due to the popularity of the game, a prequel was announced for the Wii and a tie-in CGI movie, "Dead Space: Downfall" was released as a companion piece. The game was developed by EA Games, who, after gaining success and praise for stepping into the survival horror genre, greenlit "Dante's Inferno".

6. Watery, yet arid land

From Quiz "Super Mario 64" - In Other Words

Answer: Wet-Dry World & Wet Dry World & WetDry World

Wet-Dry World is the eleventh of fifteen worlds in the game accessible through the pictures in Princess Peach's Castle. This world is unique in the fact that depending on how one enters the level, the water levels of the stage can differ. Entering from high up in the picture can result in higher water levels, for instance. The other interesting thing to note is the fact that many different switches in this level will also raise or lower the water level. Although the level may seem small, passing through the gate in the corner of the stage will allow Mario to swim to the 'downtown' area, which houses the Red Coin challenge and another star.

7. Containment device for photons

From Quiz "Twilight Princess" In Other Words

Answer: Vessel of Light

Vessels of Light are given to Link by the three spirits guarding certain provinces of Hyrule; Faron, Eldin, and Lanayru. The spirit guarding the southernmost province, Ordona, does not give one to Link as the area does not become covered by twilight. Link must clear out the twilight in the other areas in order to return Hyrule to its proper state. He can accomplish this by filling the Vessel with Twilit Parasites which contain light orbs inside of them. Once all three are filled, you will not need to encounter twilight again, excluding that surrounding Hyrule Castle.

The game follows a detective on their own in a haunted Vitorian mansion containing evil creatures and catacombs as they set out to find out what really happened to a man who had earlier committed suicide in the attic. The game is based on H. P. Lovecraft's works, and was later adapted into a film by Uwe Boll, which, like his other works, was loosely related to the plots of the series.

From Quiz "Metroid Prime 2: Echoes" In Other Words

Answer: Darkburst

The Darkburst is an upgradable missile/beam combo found in Mining Station B of Agon Wastes. This combo makes use of five missiles and thirty Dark Beam ammo in order to fire. Although this method is often quite powerful, it's very slow once it's shot. Contrasting this, the Sunburst is found in the Windchamber of the light Temple Grounds. Much like the Darkburst, it uses five missiles and thirty Light Beam ammo. Unlike the Darkburst which creates a vortex of Dark Energy, the Sunburst is a rapid-fire shot, much like a laser. It's one of the more popular shots of the game. The Annihilator Beam version of the missile/beam combo is the Sonic Boom. It makes use of thirty of each type of beam ammo and it can be found in Ing Cache 2 of Dark Agon Wastes.

16. Urban area located within the heavens

From Quiz "Twilight Princess" In Other Words

Answer: City in the Sky

The City in the Sky is the seventh dungeon of the game, and in order for Link to locate this obscure area, he needs to locate the Oocca Cannon underneath Renado's hut in Kakario Village. The level contains a shop and one of the two clawshot accessories that will help Link traverse the skyways and complete the game. The area is also home to the evil twilit dragon, the Argorok, which is also the final boss of the area. Once Link finishes this dungeon, he can move on to fight Zant in one of the final areas, the Palace of Twilight.

17. Botanical organism that is also a man-eating fish

From Quiz "Mario" - In Other Words

Answer: Piranha Plant

The Piranha Plant has been around since "Super Mario Bros." for the arcade and NES. This creature, most commonly found in pipes throughout the lands will pop out and snap its razor-sharp teeth at Mario. In earlier games, these creatures were well-timed, often appearing in regular intervals, but as the series grew, they not only took on minds of their own, but they gained fire abilities in "Super Mario RPG" (SNES) and left the pipes. They also appeared in "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" (Game Boy) in the Bottle Grotto.
