1. Why is Joel leaving the highway and driving through the streets of Pittsburg?

Answer: Cars block the route

Hunters set up road blocks in order to funnel in travelers. Luckily, Joel isn't falling for their trick. However, the truck is damaged and Joel and Ellie have to continue their journey on foot.

2. What is in the garage/loading area that Joel and Ellie break into?

Answer: Three dead bodies and piles of shoes

Two bodies are on the metal tables, one is on the floor. There are also several piles of shoes and a small stack of clothes. Ellie picks up a shoe from one of the piles and mentions "that is a lot of people that didn't make it." In the corner, Joel finds a list of all the items the hunters take from those they kill on a daily basis.

3. What saying from the "Savage Starlight" comic does Ellie quote in the Pittsburg library?

Answer: Endure and Survive

"To the edge of the universe and back. Endure and survive." She learns this line from the comic book that she steals from Bill. After a tough battle, Ellie repeats the quote "endure and survive" to the point that, after a while, Joel says this line too.

A delightful Easter Egg for those of us who've played other Naughty Dog games. Jack, of course, as homage to Jak from "Jak and Daxter". Sullivinsky comes from Victor "Sully" Sullivan, the mentor and friend of Nathan Drake from the "Uncharted" Series.

Answer: He was a thief

Before tackling the large group of hunters, they talk amoung themselves about how "if you're a thief, don't get caught". Around the man's neck is a sign that reads "thief". Ellie thinks it's a harsh punishment, but not an uncommon one since the military also kills people for stealing in the quarantine zones.

7. Joel and Ellie watch as hunters gun down a man and woman on the street. What goods are the hunters getting from these two?

Answer: Nothing

A hunter jumps off the truck to finish the woman off only to say that "they've got nothing". They leave the bodies on the ground and drive off empty handed. This deepens the seriousness of the situation since the hunters are not only killing people for supplies, but for no other reason than because they can.

Answer: No

Once Joel helps Henry, Sam, and Ellie climb a truck, Henry takes Sam and they leave Joel behind to face the hunters coming after them. Ellie jumps off the truck to stay with Joel. Now the two need to find another way out of the city.

Joel and Ellie, while running from a truck with a military turret chasing them, realize too late that the bridge is broken and it is impossible to cross. Now cornered, Ellie and Joel become trapped by the hunters.

The current is so strong that it is extremely difficult for Joel to reach Ellie before she goes under. He grabs her, then the water shoves Joel into a rock, which knocks him out cold. He is left at the mercy of the river.
