After Ilia and the children are taken by the Bulblin warriors, Link attempts to pursue them on foot (after being clubbed in the head, he is left behind). When he crosses the bridge between Ordon Province and the Southern Faron Woods, he encounters a wall of darkness outlined with intriguing and obscure symbols. Soon, a large hand pulls him into the twilight. Upon waking up, he painfully transforms into a wolf and is dragged to a prison.

This first encounter lasts a fair while after as you'll need to explore the area and fight your way to normality.

Answer: Coro

Coro is the man who gives you the Lantern in Northern Faron Woods so that you can navigate the forest with ease as a human. You are able to see him when you travel through the twilight though; he'll be inside his cabin complaining about the pest problem. Princess Zelda is always found in the twilight, imprisoned in her tower in Hyrule Castle. You meet her on a few separate occasions as a wolf. Renado and Barnes are both in Kakariko Village and you can find them in the twilight taking care of the kids from Ordon Village during your first visit to the town.

Answer: Vessel of Light

Your first experience with the Vessels of Light is in Faron Province when the spirit of Faron gives the object to you. This crucial object does not need to be equipped. As soon as you attack and defeat any Twilit Parasite and collect the light within it, it will be added to the Vessel, and once all of them are collected, the province will revert back to its old self and you will be able to wander around as a human.

There are only three Vessels of Light in the game.

Answer: Sixteen

Twilit Parasites are scattered throughout three different provinces that you pass through in the first half of the game and once they are defeated, their lights go into a Vessel of Light which is supplied by a spirit in each respective location. Both Faron Woods and Eldin Province have the same amount of Twilit Parasites but Lanayru Province will not due to a certain boss found in the area. Regardless, each area will require that a Vessel be filled in order to restore the land to its non-twilit state.

Your first Twilit Messengers are fought in the spring where you first meet Epona after you claim an Ordon Sword and Ordon Shield for Midna. Unfortunately, this does not occur when you're in the twilight as it's further up the path. After you defeat them, the spirit of Ordona (in the form of a goat) will appear in front of you. On numerous occasions, you will encounter these beasts again and again to create warp points across Hyrule.

In fact, as soon as you enter Faron Woods, you'll meet a few more. To defeat them, all of them should be destroyed with the combo attack from Midna, otherwise a surviving Messenger will resurrect the others.

Answer: Reekfish Scent

After completing the Forest Temple, you will follow the Youth's Scent from a wooden sword dropped by Talo across Hyrule Field to Kakariko Village. Ilia's Scent comes after the Goron Mines and you'll need to cross the Bridge of Eldin and Lanayru Province to find the end of the trail.

The Reekfish Scent, on the other hand, is followed through Peak Province, and is not covered in twilight. The same is said for the Medicine Scent in Hyrule Castle Town later in the game. To learn a scent, you must be in wolf form, and one you attempt to learn a new scent, you must forget the older one.

This should be fine though...by the time you're at a new scent, the old one will be unneeded for a while.

A lot of the Parasites in Kakariko Village require a bit more thought than the ones in Faron Woods because they have a lot more nooks and crannies to hide away in. For example, one Parasite will be in the fireplace of the Elde Inn. You'll need to make a fire to get it out into the open. Regarding the house-levelling experience, a Parasite will be inside the storage cabin above Barnes' Bomb Shop. Simply light a few fuses, get the heck out, and watch as the building explodes from a safe distance.

In the rubble, you'll find three Twilit Parasites to add to the Vessel of Light.

Answer: Death Mountain

When you make your way through Lanayru Province and up the river to Zora's Domain, you'll discover that the area has become a frigid ice cave. The solution: create a warp point at the top of the waterfall, warp to Death Mountain, and bring a large hunk of flaming rock back to the domain with you to thaw the ice.

This will get the water flowing again and Lake Hylia will be refilled. Now you can visit Lanayru's spring and receive your Vessel of Light to begin collecting Parasites.

Answer: Four

Once the water in the lake has been refilled, you can begin collecting Twilit Parasites from this area of the province. At one point, however, you will need to make use of the Twilit Carrier, the Kargarok, which was fought earlier. Take it through the cave for the scond time in order to claim four parasitres in various locations. If you crash in the cave after catching a parasite, you will not need to defeat it again.

When the twilight is banished from this area, you will be able to use this cave in a balloon-popping mini-game hosted by Plumm.

Answer: Twilit Bloat

This Parasite is quite different from the ones you've collected before, but since it's the final one you will face, you should expect a challenge. Just attack it when the moment is the most opportune and avoid the electrical charges that it produces.

When each of its appendages is severed, you may claim your prize and finally fill your third and final Vessel of Light. After this, the darkness will only cover Hyrule Castle, and you will be free to roam around Hyrule in its normal, non-twilit state.
