In "Birth By Sleep" you can take on the role of any of the three main protagonists, allowing you to see what they did to get to the end game. Near the end of Terra's story, he fights and kills the Master of the three, who taught them how to use their Keyblades.

All of the main protagonists of "Birth By Sleep" meet (or at least interact) with at least one of the trio from "Kingdom Hearts". However, Aqua is the only of the three to meet all three protagonists from "Kingdom Hearts".

In the beginning of "Birth By Sleep", Aqua and Terra are put through a test by their Master. This 'master' is the one who trained the main trio in the way of the Keyblade and is referred to as 'Master Eraqus' by the trio and Eraqus to basically everybody else.

As a part of trying to get Terra to trust Xehanort, he claims that Terra was already a master in his eyes. Xehanort's words were especially effective on Terra as Terra believed Xehanort was the only person he could look to for guidance. To further trick Terra, he referred to him as 'Master Terra'.

As stated in the 'Kingdom Hearts' canon, each member of Organization XIII was once a whole person and they had different name. When becoming a member of Organization XIII, their name would be jumbled with an X thrown in. Take away the X in Xigbar (his name after he joins Organization XIII) and it is an anagram of 'Braig'.

The first fight of any of the stories has all three characters fighting together. Later in the game, the trio is reunited and do a boss fight together. This battle also marks the last time the trio are in the same fight.

The main enemies in the game, the 'Unversed', are being created from pure negative emotion and are controlled by Vanitas. It is revealed near the end of Ventus's story that when an Unversed is destroyed, it goes right back to Vanitas and is sent back again.

The Wheel Master is the final boss of Enchanted Dominion in Terra's story. However, through use of the 'Mirage Arena' it is possible to fight it as any of the characters. The Wheel Master is the final boss of the third battle in the Mirage Arena titled 'Weaver Fever'.

Vanitas remains a mystery for most of the game but is fought by every main protagonist, with every fight having more or less the same move set with increased strength and health. Vanitas and Aqua fight in Neverland, Terra and Vanitas fight during his final boss and Ventus fights Vanitas several times in his story.

Revealed part way into Ventus's story, Vanitas was once a part of Ventus. In an attempt to forward his plan, Xehanort tried to force Ventus to succumb to darkness. When Ventus chose to die before he'd give in, Xehanort separated Vanitas from Ventus.

Answer: Complete 'Villain's Vendetta' in the Mirage Arena

The Ultima Weapon is considered the most powerful in any of the "Kingdom Hearts" game. The Ultima Weapon has also become a staple in the series, being obtainable in some way in each game. To unlock the Ultima Weapon in "Birth By Sleep", you must complete the mission named 'Villain's Vendetta' in the Mirage Arena, however each character will need to complete it separately to obtain their weapon.

Answer: So Ventus and Vanitas won't fight

Partway into Ventus's story, he returns home to confront the Master about his destiny. After hearing that Ventus knows about his destiny, the Master attacks so that Vanitas and Ventus will not fight to fulfill that destiny.

The beginning HD cinematic actually foreshadows the end of the game. Although there is no dialogue, it is accompanied by the song 'Simple and Clean' by Utada Hikaru. This cinematic is viewed in any of the stories, but switches later to a character specific cutscene.

Aqua is shown to have been given an order by the Master, although it is not revealed until end game. The order given was that Aqua is to seal away the Land of Departure should something happen to him and the world falls into darkness. After sealing it away, it becomes, as Aqua says, a maze that none can traverse and will become eternally lost in.

Answer: Complete every story and collect every Xehanort report

After completing every story and collecting all of Xehanort's reports, the game should give you the option to create a new save for the Final Episode. The Final Episode is played by Aqua only.

Ventus fights Vanitas at the end of his story, but refuses to let Vanitas win. The fight eventually goes into Ventus's heart, where he refuses to back down, even though the fight would end in Ventus's heart being destroyed.

Xehanort's goal was to get Ventus and Vanitas to fight and forge something called the X-blade. The X-blade (pronounced either key-blade or kye-blade) was the ultimate Keyblade that other Keyblade wielders waged war to obtain.

At the end of the Final Episode, Aqua sacrifices herself to pull Terra out of the darkness. She then wanders in the darkness, slowly losing hope until Terra and Ventus's Keyblades show up and give her hope.

Out of the answers, Larxene is the only member of Organization XIII you do not meet in the game. Other than Larxene, all three are met by Ventus, although under their true names as they are not Nobodies yet. Axel is Lea, Vexen is Even and Zexion is Ienzo.

At the end of the Final Episode, Terra is unconscious in Radiant Garden. He is found by Ansem the Wise and is taken in. Ansem the Wise is accompanied by Braig (Xigbar) and Dilan (Xaldin).

When Terra visits Destiny Islands, he meets Riku and Sora. Seeing potential in RIku, he gives Riku the ability to use the Keyblade, although he tells him to keep it a secret.

The secret ending to "Birth By Sleep" is named Blank Points and is obtained differently depending on the lowest difficulty you completed any of the stories on (if you completed Terra and Aqua on Standard, but Ventus on Proud, you would need to fulfill the Standard mode requirements). On Beginner Mode, it is impossible to unlock, Standard requires you to 100% the game and Proud Mode requires you complete the Final Episode (in the Final Mix version, Critical Mode has the same requirements as Proud Mode).

Answer: A 'super form' activated by using certain commands in rapid succession

Throughout the game, each character obtains things called 'Command Styles'. They each start out with their own, character specific Command Style, but later earn the same ones the others do. One such Command Style, 'Diamond Dust', requires you to use and land only Ice-elemental attacks and, depending on what other Command Styles you have, no other elementally-charged attacks to fill the Command Gauge.

This form has attacks that do Ice damage and a similar meter that will fill as you attack. By using commands in a Command Style, you could stack into another Command Style.

Answer: Critical Impact

Of all the Command Styles, Critical Impact is specific to Terra and is the one he starts with. Firestorm and Thunderbolt are obtained by all characters and are activated using Fire and Thunder attacks respectively. Bladecharge is not used by Ventus, but is used by Terra and Aqua and is activated by using Fire, Blizzard, or Strike Commands during another Command Style.

Answer: 12 Years

By examining the individual stories of the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise, the amount of years from "Birth By Sleep" (excluding the secret ending) to "Dream Drop Distance" is about 12 years. This chronology is based around the character's ages throughout the games.

This chronology becomes much clearer after the secret ending in "Birth By Sleep". In "Birth By Sleep" Sora is 4 years old and in "Kingdom Hearts" he is 14, meaning a 10 year difference. None of Sora's journeys have a specified number to how long it takes, but in "Kingdom Hearts II" he is 15 due to the events of "Chain of Memories".

This would lead to the belief that 11 years passed, however through dialogue in the secret ending to "Birth By Sleep", it is told that Sora leaves to take the Mark of Mastery in "Dream Drop Distance" a year after "Kingdom Hearts II", totaling to 12 years.
