Answer: Boomer and Smoker

Both the Boomer and Smoker leave behind mist after you kill them, and both of these mists have their own effect. The Boomer's mist, which is actually his blood that decorates the air after being popped, will cover anyone who walks through it and attract a Horde.

The Smoker's mist is a cloud of green smoke that is released after he is killed. This mist doesn't actually affect you, but it shrouds your vision.

2. You've decided to go Achievement hunting! The achievement Clean Kill requires you to shove and shoot which of these Special Infected?

Answer: Boomer

Clean Kill requires you to first melee shove, then shoot a Boomer to make him pop. It's called a Clean Kill because, if done correctly, the Boomer's mist will not spray any of your team mates, as long as you push him in the right direction.

3. You're in the No Mercy Subway level. Moving through the eerie tunnels with your allies, you go to shoot a Hunter, but all you get is a clicking noise in return. You're out of ammo! The Hunter jumps at you, and instinctively, you punch him out of mid-air. What achievement should you earn?

Answer: Dead Stop

The Dead Stop achievement is rather difficult, as it requires you to knock a Hunter out of mid-air with a melee attack. Jump Shot requires you to headshot a Hunter in mid-air, Hunter Punter requires you to melee shove a Hunter who has pinned one of your allies, and Double Jump requires you to pin two different Survivors in one life while playing as a Hunter.

4. You're bored of campaign, and decide to play some Versus mode! First level of No Mercy, you're spawned as a Smoker. Which of these places is the worst to hide when trying to make a snare?

Answer: At the bottom of the stairs

The bottom of the stairs is quite obviously the worst place to hide, because in this level, the Survivors never go up any stairs; only down. It would be foolish to stand in front of them. From behind the red car, the Survivors will most likely miss while trying to shoot you and trigger the car alarm, or you'll pull them over the car, also triggering the alarm. On top of a building is always a good place to dangle Survivors from, as is the giant hole, as long as you're on the top, not the bottom.

5. The Greenhouse is the first level in the Blood Harvest campaign.

Answer: False

The Greenhouse is actually the first level in the Dead Air campaign. The first level in Blood Harvest is The Woods.

6. You've been playing "Left 4 Dead" for a while now, and you've really been rolling in the kills. After finishing off an Expert campaign, the Achievement icon pops up and says the you've earned the achievement Zombicidal Maniac. How many zombies have you killed?

Answer: Zombicidal Maniac is not a kill count achievement.

Tricked you, didn't I? Zombie Genocidist is the achievement that requires 53,595 kills. Zombicidal Maniac is the achievement that you earn by completing any campaign on Expert.

7. In the introductory cinematic, after the car alarm is set off by the Hunter bumping into it, the Tank arrives. When Louis asks if they should run or shoot, what does Bill say?

Answer: Both!

Being the expert that he is, Bill takes the best of both worlds and tells the group to run and shoot at the same time. It doesn't do much, because in the end, the Tank dies from falling with the emergency staircase on the side of the apartment.

8. You're playing the Death Toll campaign, and you're at the third level, The Church. You reach the church's safe room, but it won't open! A man on the inside has locked it. Before you know it, you're in the middle of a Horde event. What triggers this event?

Answer: The Church Bell

The man on the inside of the Safe Room freaks out and starts screaming 'Better safe than sorry! Better safe than sorry!' Of course, it's not his screaming that attracts the Horde, but in his maniacal craze, he starts ringing the church bell.

9. The Hunting Rifle is a Tier 2 weapon in "Left 4 Dead". Which of these situations would be the worst time to use a Hunting Rifle?

Answer: Boomer around the Bend

If you've got a Boomer around the corner and you don't know how close or far he is, you'll most likely miss with a Hunting Rifle and get covered in puke. If there's a Horde on the Horizon, a Hunting Rifle is the best bet to pick off a good few of them, especially since it has the best penetration out of any weapon, and Hordes are close-knit. If you see a Hunter down a Hallway, it most likely won't be able to reach you in one jump, and with a good shot it'll go down easy. Smokers are simple when it comes to sniping, because when they're on top of buildings, there aren't many places for them to run.

10. In "Left 4 Dead", you'll find yourself making a lot of things explode. Which of these things never go up in flames in any of the campaigns?

Answer: A Package of C4

Though it sounds like it makes the most sense, you never do blow up any C4. In the third level of Dead Air, the Construction Site, you have to burn away a barricade. In the third level of No Mercy, the Sewer, you can blow up a Gas Station, creating the second-largest explosion in the game. And finally, at the beginning of the Runway Finale of Dead Air, you see the game's biggest and most spectacular explosion as a pilot makes a fatal misjudgement and plummets to the ground, producing a grand fireworks show as the airplane skids across the runway, being reduced to shards of gnarled metal.
