The first boss you battle is Queen Gohma. You battle this boss inside the Great Deku Tree. When you enter the room, look up and you'll see a strange yellow eye. It'll spot you and drop down. Beating her is easy though, wait for her to attack, dodge and shoot her with your Fairy Slingshot. Slash her with her sword, and repeat.

After you do it the first time, she climbs back to the ceiling and lays eggs.

Play the same song you played as a child, and he'll tell you that his friend is traveling, but if you need help play the song and he'll show up in certain places.

This helps in a few areas, such as the Sacred Forest Meadow, to avoid the enemies around the corners. As well, in the Fire Temple you can get on another floor and get 200 rupees.

It is recommended, but you do not have to complete them in order. You can complete the Fire Temple before the Forest Temple as long as you have the Fairy Bow. You need to get the Megaton Hammer from the Fire Temple before completing the Water Temple. So, you can finish them in a different order, but you will have to start them in proper order to get the necessary equipment.
