Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Lunastra is the female equivalent of Solastra.

Answer: False

Lunastra is the female of a Teostra. This elder dragon can create a shield of flame, enough to burn a hunter who comes close. Her fire breath can incinerate a hunter, and she can jump in and out of combat with speed and agility. A Teostra can generally be found in the Volcano or Desert regions, favouring fire attacks like his female relative.
2. Which of these is biggest?

Answer: Lao Shan Lung

Lao Shan Lung is gigantic. It is so big that hunters can carve it alive without harming it. It can be different colours depending on the local rocks. For example, iron deposits would dye its body a shade of red. The fort was built to stop this titan from harming the villagers, but there are fears over whether it will work.
3. There is an elder dragon that can turn invisible.

Answer: True

The Chameleos can blend in with its surroundings, and hunters must be cautious when one has been reported in the area, as it can attack at unexpected times with deadly power and accuracy. It is generally quite timid, as it will stand still while a hunter lays as many attacks as possible into it... but when angered, a hunter must take extreme care to avoid its attacks as it can call upon lots of status effects such as poison.
4. Lunastra is Black.

Answer: False

The Lunastra's blue body stands out from her flaming shield which will deflect most attacks. She can be found in volcanic regions or the mysterious tower. She fights in a similar way to the Kushala Daora, but much more aggressive and dangerous, with attacks ranging from wide spreading flames to tail whips.
5. Which of these monsters is not found in the regular gathering hall? (1-5* doesn't include Village Elder or High Rank 6*-8*)

Answer: Rajang

The Rajang is a very rare and dangerous monster classified as a Primatius.
It his two horns on its head, both of which can be broken. When it is enraged, its coat gains golden stripes and its mane protudes from its body. It has a beam attack with very long range that can destroy all but the most durable armours.
6. The Fort was built to defend against which of these?

Answer: Lao Shan Lung

The fort was built along a path used by gigantic elder dragons. It has siege weapons to assist in the destruction or deflection of these monster. There are bridges from which a hunter can jump to land on these monsters themselves, and enabling them to carve it alive, and plant supplied anti dragon bombs, which can deal a lot of damage.
7. You can slice off the tail of a Kushala Daora.

Answer: True

A Kushala Daora, though it's skin is metal, can have its tail sliced off, allowing one to carve it. The Kushala Daora is the controller of the weather. Its wind shield will deflect attacks and temporarily make hunters stagger back. Its wind breath can throw a hunter into the air, leaving them vulnerable to a second strike.

In the snowy mountains, its wind breath can freeze a hunter, but its attacks are limited in other regions.
8. What is the name of the Lynian species that wear orange costumes, which generally hide under a mushroom, or small object to disguise in the terrain, leaping out at hunters who come close, and possess a very aggressive and dangerous attack?

Answer: Shakalaka

The shakalaka is the definitely most dangerous species of Lynian, generally attacking on their own, they will hide until the player comes too close, but in some missions (for example, the shakalaka hunting quests,) they can be found walking about. There are replicas of their swords available at the armoury, but to build them, the armourer needs the mysterious shakalaka treasure...
9. What type of creature is a Great Thunderbug (Bird Wyvern/Elder Drag. etc)?

Answer: Neopterion

The Neopterions are insects, including Vespoids, Hornetaurs and Great Thunderbugs. They have fragile bodies, almost no good for getting materials from, and while they don't a huge threat, they can attack in numbers or generally annoy hunters with their constant biting.
10. A roaring Gravios can almost deafen anyone, but which monster's roar is so bad, it is called 'the Bane of Hunters'?

Answer: Monoblos

The Monoblos' single horn comes straight out from its head like a lance, and the Monoblos uses this with devastating strength. It can be red/grey, or white. The horn can be broken off and used to make weapons, and this horn can also be the beast's main weakness, as hitting a stone or similar wall head on will cause the Monoblos to get stuck, where it is vulnerable to attack, but a broken horned Monoblos no longer has this disadvantage, so hunters must take it into consideration before breaking it off.

Their sturdy skulls are also used by giant Hermitaurs as a shell, these giant crabs can use the skulls to attack and defend, and are a good source of rare Monoblos Hearts, a sought after material by many hunters and crafters. They are a sub-species of Diablos, which have two horns at the tops of their heads.
