Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. #25-"Animal Crossing: Wild World" (DS) If you move into your village for the first time, assuming no one has lived there before, how many residents are there? (Hint: Think through this question carefully.)

Answer: 15

The fifteen are yourself, three randomly selected villagers, Pelly, Phyllis, Tortimer, Pete, Tom Nook, Sable, Mable, Blathers, Celeste, Brewster, and Mr. Resetti. "Animal Crossing: Wild World," was the DS version of the popular game "Animal Crossing," in which time takes real place in the game even if you're not there.

The game took away some things of the original game but added some new things as well. The things that were taken away were the separation of acres, the town is now continuous. Also Wisp, the ghost who would appear late at night, disappears along with several other animals, such as Jingle the reindeer, who would appear on holidays. Also the island that appeared in "Animal Crossing" disappears.

Some factors that were added were the inclusion of exclusive holidays rather than holidays mainly celebrated in the U.S.A. Also the watering can and slingshot were new tools to be added.

The watering can was obviously used to water flowers while the slingshot could be used to shoot items out of the sky such as balloons carrying presents, Pete, and even a U.F.O. Also if you go to the museum, Celeste will let you create your own constellations and Brewster will sell you a cup of coffee for 200 Bells. Lyle, the insurance salesman appears to rip you off along with the old character Crazy Redd who now requires you to give a password to enter his tent and charges you 3,000 Bells to join his club to buy anything, including counterfeit paintings.

Another new character is Pascal who is a philosophizing otter who will give you ship related merchandise if you hear him out. He may even give you a picture of himself or a golden axe if you give him a scallop, received from Tortimer. Speaking of pictures, if you are nice enough to a resident or if you complete a large trading cycle you can get pictures from animals which will up your points in the HRA (Happy Room Academy) scores. Other old characters such as Gracie, Wendell, Saharah, and Totakeke (K.K. Slider) reappear. This was one of the three games to spur off the Wi-Fi Connection of the DS, which is now available in several DS and Wii games.
2. #24-"Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land" (GBA) What is the name of the last sub-game you will unlock?

Answer: Meta Knightmare

Meta Knightmare as the name suggests has you play as Meta-Knight through the whole game without being able to save. Meta Knight can float just like Kirby with bat-like wings and his sword can practically break anything. Meta-Knight did appear as a boss in the game played as Kirby among other famous ones such as Kracko and King Dedede.

The main plot behind this game was to rescue the Star Rod that King Dedede stole. However, he stole the Star Rod for good reasons and kept it out of the Fountain of Dreams to keep the Nightmares sealed.

However, when Kirby replaces it he is forced to fight two Nightmares with the Star Rod in hand. Kirby made his first appearance in "Kirby's Dream Land," for the Game Boy and has appeared on every system since in games such as "Kirby: Air Ride," for the GCN and "Kirby: Canvas Curse" for the DS. Kirby also constantly appears as a character in the "Super Smash Bros." series and King Dedede and Meta-Knight recently appeared alongside Kirby in "Super Smash Bros. Brawl." Kirby is most well-known for his ability to swallow enemies and copy their abilities.
3. #23-"Metroid Prime" (GCN) This was the first game of the "Metroid" series to appear in what genre of game?

Answer: First Person Shooter

The "Metroid" series follows the ventures of Samus Aran a female bounty hunter. Originally, the games were side-scrollers that covered an extensive map of different areas where secrets were waiting to be found and Samus was to battle several bosses such as Ridley, Kraid, and Mother Brain.

However, "Metroid Prime," changed the formula and made the game a first person shooter (FPS). This formula stayed in the two sequels to the "Metorid Prime" games. Samus Aran is also a famous character from the "Super Smash Bros." series appearing in every game.

She could transform into Zero Suit Samus in "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" if she got a Smash Ball and used her Final Smash.
4. #22-"Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix" (GCN) Which game did a song come from?

Answer: Mario Party 5

The song coming from "Mario Party 5," is called Cabin Fever. "Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix" was the first DDR game to be released for Nintendo. Another game was made for Nintendo called "DDR: Hottest Party" and was released for the Wii. "Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix," had a story mode in which Mario traversed across five different worlds collecting musical notes that had been stolen.

The game also included several mini-games that the Dance Pad was used for. "Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix," took many remixes of songs from Mario's old games along with some classical works and made for an enjoyable experience.

A character could either play as Mario or Luigi.
5. #21-"Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness" (GCN) Which one of the following inventions did Dr. Kaminko NOT invent?

Answer: a safe set of earphones that play so soft it can't be heard

These inventions can all be discovered in Dr. Kaminko's house when Chobin is constantly talking about them. "Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness," was the sequel to "Pokemon Colloseum" also for the GCN. Unlike the normal formula for the "Pokemon" series, these two games had you traverse over many locations catching certain Pokemon called Shadow Pokemon. Shadow Pokemon were not afraid to attack humans and had their hearts artificially shut.

These Pokemon could be recovered by capturing them with a Pokeball and a Snagem machine which turned the balls into Snag Balls which allowed a trainer to steal a Shadow Pokemon from a trainer.

Then through battling or using a special circulation machine, these Pokemon could be purified and returned to normal.

In "Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness," there was a Pokemon who was supposed to be so evil that it could not be purified and was called XD001 and was a Shadow version of Lugia.
6. #20-"The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time," (N64) What song is being played? (A button, down C, up C, A button, down C, up C)

Answer: Song of Storms

"The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" is revered as being the best of "The Legend of Zelda" series and was named the #1 game in "Nintendo Power's" top 200 countdown. This game was released as one of the four games in "The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition,"the others being "The Legend of Zelda," "The Legend of Zelda II: Link's Adventure both for the NES and "Majora's Mask" for the N64, for the Gamecube and later released on the Wii Virtual Console for 1,000 Points.

This was the first game to put "The Legend of Zelda" in 64 bits. Later, Nintendo released "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask," that was to serve as a sequel to "Ocarina of Time." Also "Ocarina of Time," introduced a new villain Ganondorf who was a male Gerudo and the human manifestation of the demon Ganon. Also it introduced Princess Zelda's alter ego Sheik.

However Sheik has yet to be seen in another "Legend of Zelda" game. The game "Ocarina of Time" follows Link through the land of Hyrule to gather three jewels to open the Temple of Time. Once inside, he pulls the Master Sword, and is sent seven years into the future where Ganondorf has turned the world into a land of darkness.

The characters Link, Zelda, Sheik, Ganondorf and Young Link all appeared in "Super Smash Bros. Melee," whereas Link was the only one to appear in the original "Super Smash Bros." for the N64.
7. #19-"Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales" (DS) Who is the spirit of the Earth Crystal?

Answer: Unicorn

Oddly enough it is not Titan, whereas every other crystal is represented by a famous summon of that element. The Fire Crystal spirit being Phoenix, the Water Crystal spirit being Leviathan, and the Thunder Crystal spirit being Ramuh. "Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales," strayed from the original form that has been known in the "Final Fantasy" series by turning it into a storybook land that contain microgames and mini-games based off many fables and fairy tales such as "The Tortoise and the Hare," and "Jack and the Beanstalk." Of course the names were modified to fit "Final Fantasy" terms such "The Adamantoise and the Cactuar," and "Titan and the Beanstalk." Boss battles were still present but were played out as card duels to the music of the "Final Fantasy VI" boss theme.
8. #18-"Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door" (GCN) What is the name of the blue dog with the pink afro?

Answer: Dupree

"Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door" was the fourth of the new Mario RPG genre. The first three being "Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars" for the Super Nintendo, "Paper Mario" for the N64, and "Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga" for the Game Boy Advance. "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door" was kind of a sequel for the original "Paper Mario." Once again Princess Peach was kidnapped this time by the evil leader of a group of enemies called the X-Nauts, Grodus. And once again, you think this would change but once again, Mario is on a quest to collect seven stars.

This game followed the same formula of the original "Paper Mario," by giving Mario several partners, fashioned off old enemies of his, and letting him choose one to fight with him and switch between them in battle and on the field each having a specific ability.

It seems that the main enemy of the game was actually not Grodus but a being deep beneath the town of Rogueport called the Shadow Queen who needed a pure heart to be released and it turned out that the pure heart needed was Princess Peach. Between each chapter, you got to play as Princess Peach communicating with a computer named TEC, and to the enjoyment of many players, one got to play as Bowser including short versions of the original "Super Mario Bros." This had Bowser travel through a plain level, an underwater level, and a fortress level. Bowser ate meat in these levels to power up himself much like Mario would eat Mushrooms. Also this kept up the standards of a Mario RPG, being slightly easier than other RPG's but adding many moments of laugh-out loud humor.
9. #17-"Final Fantasy VII" (PS1) What enemy skill can you learn from Safer-Sephiroth?

Answer: Shadow Flare

Regarded as the best "Final Fantasy" because of it's memorable plotline, "Final Fantasy VII" introduced many memorable RPG characters such as Cloud Strife, Aerith Gainsborough, and Sephiroth. Also one of the hidden characters Vincent Valentine appeared in a first person shooter game later. Shadow Flare can also be learned from Ultima Weapon, Dragon Zombie, and America exclusive, Ruby Weapon.

Another hidden boss Emerald Weapon was also America exclusive. "Final Fantasy VII" also came out with a CG movie "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children," which included remixed rock tracks of "J-E-N-O-V-A" and "One-Winged Angel." This was the first "Final Fantasy" game to introduce breeding Chocobos in which you could do to reach certain items such as The Knights of the Round Materia. Also this was the first game to introduce Limit Breaks as a standard feature.

It was possible in random occasions to use Limits in "Final Fantasy VI," "Final Fantasy III" in the United States but they were not standard.
10. #16-"Mariokart DS" (DS)- In Time Trials, which kart will not give you triple mushrooms to use?

Answer: Hurricane

"Mariokart DS" was the second game of the series to be released on a portable console and the fifth of the complete series. "Mariokart DS" added a new feature of cups called the Retro Cups. These cups included four races like most of the series but they were all from the previous games: "Super Mario Kart" for the Super Nintendo, "Mariokart 64" for the N64, "MarioKart: Super Circuit," for the Game Boy Advance, and "Mariokart: Double Dash," for the Gamecube.

This feature also carried over to "Mariokart Wii" which also included tracks from "Mariokart DS." "Mariokart DS," also included four hidden characters which were Waluigi, his first appearance as a solo racer, Dry Bones his first appearance in a "Mariokart" game, Daisy "her first appearance as a solo racer, and the Robotic Operating Buddy more commonly known as R.O.B., his first apperance as himself since his NES game. Each track, both old and new, had a course ghost that was set by the pros at Nintendo Power and were usually set by a character relevant to the course. Also "Mariokart DS" was one of the first DS games to launch the Wi-Fi concept and also introduced Mission mode.
11. #15-"Space Station: Silicon Valley" (N64) In the beginning video, what are Danger Dan and Evo fighting about?

Answer: what radio station should be on

All of these situations would be highly funny as they are in a rocket at the time. Danger Dan is an All-American hero who doesn't really do any work while Evo is a robot who in his chip form has to take form of several different robotic animals. "Space Station: Silicon Valley," was a very humorous sleeper game where a Space Station had gotten out of control because the robotic animals designed to live there had rebelled against the humans thanks to the Master Brain of the station who had malfunctioned.

In the four different sections of the station, Euro, Arctic, Jungle, and Desert, Evo had to take the forms of many different robotic animals to complete certain tasks. What made this a funny game were instances like the beginning movie where they were arguing what radio station should be playing in the rocket, and in a certain objective in a desert level where you were supposed to blow up all the speaker that were playing the background music.
12. #14-"Super Mario 64 DS" (DS) Which mini-game, held by a rabbit, is not found near the Lethal Lava Land entrance?

Answer: Mix-a-mug

Wanted! is a Yoshi mini-game and can be found outside of the castle. "Super Mario 64 DS" as it's name suggests was a remake fairly similar to the game "Super Mario 64" for the N64. However, there were several differences. One was the ability to play as one of four characters either Yoshi, Mario, Luigi, or Wario.

Another one was the addition of catching rabbits to unlock mini-games and there was a large addition of new rooms and new stars to get. When first playing the game, you start out as Yoshi and you rescue the other three players from a boss character. You rescue Mario as Yoshi, from a giant Goomba. You rescue Luigi, in keeping with his theme with ghosts, from King Boo. You rescue Wario from Chief Chilly. Several of these mini-games made a return in "New Super Mario Bros." also for the DS.
13. #13-"Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars" (SNES) The Ultra Hammer is Mario's most powerful weapon.

Answer: False

As many experienced players of this game know the Lazy Shell is Mario's most powerful weapon which can be obtained by an old man in Rose Town if you give him some seeds and some fertilizer. You also get the most powerful armor in the game called Lazy Shell. "Super Mario RPG" was the first role-playing game that Mario starred in and was definitely not the last.

As is traditional of Mario RPG's it is shorter than most but there are many different hilarious parts and in this case many cameo appearances from other games. If you go to Rose Town after getting the second star and go to the Rose Inn you will see Link sleeping in there. If you investigate him you hear the common "Legend of Zelda" jingle. If you investigate Marrymore, at some point in time, you will see Samus sleeping in the inn. If you go behind a certain curtain segment in Booster Tower, you will come out as 8-Bit Mario from "Super Mario Bros." and the theme will play while this is going on.

However, if you approach a door the time is running out theme will play and you will revert back to original form. Also if you purchase a Shiny Stone from a mole girl in Moleville and use it on the locked door in Monstro Town, you will encounter the most powerful boss in the game Culex. Culex has four crystals and was rumored to be from "Final Fantasy II," because the "Final Fantasy II" boss music played during this.

However Culex was never in "Final Fantasy II" and was just a made-up boss. You had five party members in this game which were: Mario, Mallow, the prince of Nimbus Land, Bowser, Princess Toadstool, and one of the most enigmatic characters Geno whose appearance has been wanted greatly in "Super Smash Bros. Brawl." However, due to his ownership by Square-Enix he has not appeared yet. The main boss was a robot named Smithy who had taken over Bowser's Keep and the goal of the game was to get seven stars to repair Star Road which is why Geno appeared, being a star spirit. This also dates the creation of the game as the sixth star is apprehended by a five-person team called the Axem Rangers which was a parody of "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers," a show popular at the time.
14. #12-"Banjo-Kazooie" (N64) If you complete all of Bottle's moving puzzles, what transformation from "Banjo-Tooie" will you turn into?

Answer: a washer

All of these transformations are from "Banjo-Tooie" and the bee also appeared in "Banjo-Kazooie" along with an alligator, termite, pumpkin, and a walrus. "Banjo-Kazooie" much like "Super Mario 64" was a game where you traveled through a massive overworld, this time it was Gruntilda's lair and went to different worlds collecting power-ups.

However, unlike "Super Mario 64," you could collect almost everything in one shot without having to jump into each world several times. There were 100 notes, 10 Jiggies (one which was gained by collecting five Jinjos) and two empty honeycombs in each world.

There were 10 Jiggies also in Gruntilda's Lair and two empty honeycombs in the first world Spiral Mountain. To access Bottle's moving puzzles you must go into Banjo's house and go into first person view and look at the picture above the fireplace.

The main story behind this game was Gruntilda the witch stole Tooty, Banjo's sister, and Banjo along with his bird friend Kazooie have to rescue her.

This was also nominated as one of the funniest games in the "Nintendo Power Awards," the year it was released but was beaten by "South Park." Nintendo along with Rareware made a sequel called "Banjo-Tooie" also for the N64 and "Grunty's Revenge" for the Game Boy Advance before Rareware was traded over to Microsoft. There was a rumor of "Banjo-Threeie" made for the XBox but it has yet to be seen.
15. #11-"Final Fantasy VIII" (PS1) How many GF's can be drawn from bosses?

Answer: 6

The six GF's are Siren, Carbuncle, Leviathan, Pandemona, Alexander, and Eden. Eden is the most powerful GF in the game being drawn from Ultima Weapon in the Deep Sea Research Center, which is also where you can battle Bahamut to get him as a summon. "Final Fantasy VIII" focuses around the life of a Balamb Garden Student named Squall Leonhart.

The game also changed the major flow of battle by equipping GF's (Guardian Forces) to use magic, items, and other special abilities. In order to use Magic though, one had to draw magic from enemies to build up their supplies rather than learn it from Materia or job class.

Many of the GF's such as Cerberus and Ifrit had to be battled in order to obtain them and use them. The character Squall reappeared in "Kingdom Hearts" and "Kingdom Hearts II" but he was known as Leon in these games. "Final Fantasy VIII" has you traveling across four discs to save the world from a sorceress named Ultimecia. Ultimecia, in one of her final forms, uses the creature on the end of Squall's gunblade.

The creature was a lion who looked very similar to Ifrit, and it's name was Griever. Ultimecia had four different forms in the last battle. Also when entering Ultimecia's castle every ability except for Attack is sealed and one must battle all the bosses in her castle to unlock abilities. The only exception is Omega Weapon, which is the most powerful boss in the game. Also one could collect Cards and play Triple Triad to get rare cards and refine them into powerful items. At some points in the game a girl named Ellone would send Squall and party into a trance in which they reenacted the events of three men called Laguna, Kiros, and Ward. You later meet up with Laguna in the invisible city of Esthar.
16. #10-"Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl versions" (DS) You have a Pidgeot in your "Leaf Green" version who knows Featherdance, Fly, Quick Attack, and Mirror Move. What section in Pal Park will it appear in?

Answer: none of these sections

Normally one would find a Pidgeot in the Field area, however due to the fact that your Pidgeot knows Fly it can't be transferred. Any Pokemon that knows a Hidden Machine cannot be transferred for some reason. "Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl" was released in 2007 and was apparently released in time to make some brief appearances whether in Pokeballs, trophies, or even a character in "Super Smash Bros. Brawl." "Pokemon Diamond and Pearl," follows the main theme of the "Pokemon" series, where you travel through many towns beating eight gym leaders and the Elite Four and the Champion to become the greatest Pokemon Trainer ever. Throughout your process once again another team of evil that abuses Pokemon is trying to take over the world and this time it's Team Galactic headed by a guy named Cyrus.

After beating the champion in the game several new doors open. You get the National Pokedex, provided you've seen all 150 Pokemon in the Sinnoh region. Also you can start collecting Pokemon form the previous three versions as they are found in the wild now. One thing that was brought back which was a welcome additon was the night and day cycle which made certain Pokemon only appear in certain times of the day.

The two main Pokemon fighting in this game are Dialga, the time shifter, and Palkia the shape rifter. Dialga is a Steel/Dragon type and Palkia is a Water/Dragon type. Three psychic legendary Pokemon appear also and they are Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit. Mesprit unlike the other ones will run away when you approach and appear randomly while walking through tall grass. It will run away as soon as you see it. Other legendaries such as Heatran (Fire/Steel), Giratina (Ghost/Dragon), and Regigigas (Normal) will also appear in certain locations in the Sinnoh region. This game also took on a more three dimensional look unlike it's predecessors.
17. #9-"Kingdom Hearts" (PS2) Put the seven princesses of heart and type their names except for the one last in alphabetical order.

Answer: Alice, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Kairi

Snow White was the last one but due to the typing interface in the Flash format you can't type all the names. Ariel from "The Little Mermaid," was not in this because she was a partner in the world of Atlantica. So the one replaced was Alice from "Alice in Wonderland." Aurora is the real name of Sleeping Beauty which isn't as well known as the other princesses as she is usually know as Sleeping Beauty. Kairi was also added as a princess of heart. Malificent was capturing all of these princesses because she wanted to open Kingdom Hearts.

However, Sora sacrificed his own heart to become a Heartless to save Kairi. This explains why in "Kingdom Hearts II" Sora has a nobody called Roxas. A nobody is always made when a Heartless appears or if one with a strong willed heart gives up his heart willingly. "Kingdom Hearts" originally stood as an enigmatic game combining the fighting characters of the "Final Fantasy" series along with the many characters from Disney, it just seemed like it would be a bad combination.

However, the combination worked quite well and made "Kingdom Hearts" a Playstation 2 greatest hit. It also spawned two sequels "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories" for the Game Boy Advance and "Kingdom Hearts II" for the Playstation 2. "Kingdom Hearts III" has been seemed to be suggested due to the secret ending of "Kingdom Hearts II" and there is also a game coming out for the DS that is rumored to focus mainly around Roxas. At the end of "Kingdom Hearts" Sora has to fight many forms of Xehanort, Ansem's apprentice who became a Heartless. He claims himself to be Ansem but the real Ansem is not revealed until "Kingdom Hearts II." Throughout the series, Donald Duck and Goofy have fought alongside Sora sometimes replaced by characters such as Jack Skellington and Alladin as they travel through different Disney-themed world to try and seal the Keyhole with Sora's weapon called the Keyblade.
18. #8-"StarFox 64" (N64) How many levels in this game, excluding versus mode, are not played in an Arwing?

Answer: 3

The three worlds not played in an Arwing are Macbeth and Titania played in the Landmaster and Aquas which is played in the Blue Marine. "StarFox 64" has been viewed as the best game in the "StarFox" series. It mainly focused on Arwing piloting like it's original on the Super Nintendo "StarFox" but it had amazing graphics and voices for it's time.

This game also introduced something that would change Nintendo gaming forever. With it's original release it included the Rumble Pak which could be plugged into the N64 controller and designed to vibrate when detonating a smart bomb or running into an obstacle. "StarFox 64" also introduced Team Star Wolf which consisted of Wolf O' Donnel, Andrew Oikonny, Pigma Dengar, and Leon Powalski.

The original Team Star Fox was there too, consisting of Fox McCloud, Peppy Hare, Slippy Toad, and Falco Lombardi. Later Peppy Hare retired and was replaced by Krystal.

In this game Team Star Fox fought against Andross on the planet of Venom. Andross in this game instead of his metallic head form in the original "Star Fox" resembled a disembodied head of a monkey with two hands. If picking the best ending you can get, while escaping Venom, Fox meets up with his father James McCloud who leads Fox to safety.
19. #7-"Diddy Kong Racing" (N64) How many of the 21 secret codes have the letter o in it?

Answer: 17

The 17 codes that have the letter o in it are: Arnold, Blabbermouth, Body Armor, BogusBananas, BombsAway, ByeByeBalloons, Doublevision, FreeForAll, Jointventure, JukeBox, NoYellowStuff, OffRoad, OppositesAttract, RocketFuel, TimetoLose, ToxicOffender, and WhoDidThis.

The other four codes are FreeFruit, TeenyWeenies, VitaminB, and Zap the Zippers. Most of these can only be used in Vs. Mode, but several of them such as Arnold and Blabbermouth can be used in Adventure Mode which is what made "Diddy Kong Racing" so famous. Most racing games were only about coming in first place. "Diddy Kong Racing" took that in a new direction by either using a plane, car, or hovercraft going through a large overworld, winning in eight person races, and single races against the bosses Tricky, Blue, Bubbler, Smokey, and the evil Wizpig. Occasionally, Taj the elephant genie would challenge you to a race. Along with that, battle modes and trophy races were included in fitting with the theme of the original racing games such as "Mariokart" which used items. Once collecting all four trophies, one can visit the lighthouse which turns into a rocket blasting your racer off to Future Fun Land which was Wizpig's home planet. Rareware greatly contributed to this game including characters such as Diddy Kong, Conker, and Banjo. Banjo and Conker later went off to make their own games. Two unlockable characters were available.

After beating Smokey, you will see a frog that clucks like a chicken and has a red thing on it's head. As cruel as it may seems, if you run over that frog, you will unlock a secret character known as Drumstick. Also if you beat T.T's ghost in every track, you will unlock T.T. which has the fastest top speed and acceleration among characters and decent handling. In "Diddy Kong Racing DS" Conker and Banjo were replaced by Tiny Kong and Dixie Kong respectively. After beating all four tracks in a world you would face a boss. If you beat the boss you would have to go back through all four tracks trying to find all the silver coins on a track and still come in first place. The silver coins were usually in hard to reach places so sometimes these challenges proved difficult. Then you would race the boss again, this time he was a little more difficult to beat and if you beat them again you would get a piece of the Wizpig amulet which helped you battle Wizpig for the first time. In order to beat the game you needed all gold balloons and all four pieces of the T.T. Amulet which were gotten by winning in battle modes which could be unlocked by a key that was found on one of the four tracks in each world, excluding Future Fun Land.
20. #6-"Final Fantasy X" (PS2) Yuna's ultimate weapon is named after a concept in what religion?

Answer: Buddhism

Yuna's ultimate weapon is called Nirvana which is a concept in Buddhism. "Final Fantasy X" was the first game of the "Final Fantasy" series to be released on the Playstation two and was also the first "Final Fantasy" game to have an official sequel aptly named "Final Fantasy X-2." In this game Yuna and her several guardians go through her pilgrimage to defeat the evil monster named Sin who destroys the peace of the world of Spira. Once defeated, it would bring along the Calm but Sin would be reborn.

When reaching the ancient ruins of the city of Zanarkand, the hometown of Tidus, who was transported 1,000 years into the future by Sin, Yuna finds out that she has to sacrifice one of her guardians to become a final aeon, the summons in this game, to defeat Sin.

When Yuna refuses this, her and her guardians have to fight Yunalesca and decide to defeat Yu Yevon, the core of Sin to bring about the Eternal Calm. When breaking into Sin, they must battle the summoner who defetead Sin before, Lord Braska Yuna's father, final aeon which just happens to be Tidus' father Jecht.

When Yu Yevon" is finally defeated Tidus and Auron fade away to the Farplane since they do not really exist. Tidus was transported in time and so was Auron but was killed when going against Yunalesca when he served as a guardian for Lord Braska. In "Final Fantasy X-2" the main story focuses on Yuna trying to find Tidus since she saw a sphere that reminded her of him. Rikku also returns and a new member Paine joins the party. The main sport that was found in the world of Spira was called blitzball which was a combination of American football, soccer, and underwater swimming.
21. #5-"The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass" (DS) What is the name of the Anouki impersonated by a Yook?

Answer: Aroo

On the Isle of Frost you will encounter two tribes called the Anouki and the Yooks. The Anouki are pretty laid back and look like big stuffed animals while the Yooks are evil-looking monster who are defeated by throwing bombs in their mouths when they inhale.

This is one of the last dungeons you will embark on and you get the Grappling Hook in this dungeon. If you encounter Aroo and accuse him as the liar you will gain access to the east side of the island allowing you access to the temple. After defeating the dungeon's boss, you will encounter the real Aroo and he will thank you. "The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass" serves as a sequel to "The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker," and has the same cartoony style of gameplay.

In this case Tetra, has been captured by a Ghost Ship. Once finding the Ghost Ship and defeating the boss, you find Tetra has been turned into stone.

In order to free Tetra from this curse you have to fight the final boss and it's not Ganon, Ganondorf, or Vaati this time but an enemy known as Bellum.

The concept that made this game unique was that the majority of the game was controlled with the stylus. One could find a dungeon map, and write notes on the map to help you remember certain things. The one other thing that was different was the fact that you had to go through a temple several times known as the Temple of the Ocean King which is where the game's name item, the Phantom Hourglass, is found. The Phantom Hourglass is filled with the Sands of Time which allows how long you can stay in the temple without dying. There are several safe zones within the temple which does not count down time and the Phantoms, who prowl the dungeon, can't hurt you. If a phantom catches you and hurts you with it's sword, an amount of time is deducted. You will go through this dungeon several times to get sea charts which will lead you to your next destination.
22. #4-"Super Smash Bros. Melee" (GCN) Every non-hidden character has at least two stages based off a game they appeared in.

Answer: False

There is only one that this is not true for and those are the Ice Climbers which only have one. "Super Smash Bros. Melee" was one of the pilot games for the Gamecube and it's obvious to see why. The "Super Smash Bros." series debuting on the N64, has become one of the best-selling game franchises in Nintendo history and in March of 2008 in the United States, the third installment "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" was released.

The "Super Smash Bros." series takes several characters from several games in an all out fight fest. You can have Mario battling Fox in a "Pokemon" world. Or you can have Ganondorf and Bowser two of the most powerful serious villains ever, fighting on a cutesy stage from the Yoshi series. "Super Smash Bros. Melee" starred 25 characters. "Super Smash Bros. Melee" improved on the original by including Adventure Mode which would have your character fighting through several worlds from several games which would eventually end in a battle against Bowser, or in the higher difficulties Giga Bowser.

This also included certain events in which you would usually be assigned a fixed character and had to complete a certain task. The game also included trophies which could be collected by finding them, participating in a lottery, or completing certain tasks. In Classic mode, a character would go along fighting several characters and eventually coming against the final boss Master Hand or in the higher difficulties Master Hand and Crazy Hand. All-Star mode was also included which gave you one life and as a character of your choice had to battle all 25 characters, which only gave you 3 heart containers to use between battles.
23. #3-"The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" (GCN/Wii) What enemies are found in Room #33 in the Pit of Ordeals?

Answer: ReDeads & a Poe Soul

The Phantom Rats and Chus appear in Room #34, The Ice Keese and a Freezard appear in room #35, and the two Darknuts appear in room #39. "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess," was originally supposed to be only for the Gamecube. However, due to it's numerous delays it was also released for the Wii.

The two versions are only different in the fact that they are mirror versions of each other. The reason for this is because Link is left handed however, game developers figured most people were right handed which is why they made Link right handed in the Wii version.

In the game, Link starts out older than most of his games. Instead of a young boy, he starts out in about his teen years as a goat farmer in Ordon Village. He must also rescue Princess Zelda...again but this time he is helped by a little imp named Midna who rides on Link's back when he is in the twilight realm as a wolf.

Many people think that a new villain Zant was the main enemy but after beating the Arbiter's Grounds, near the place where the Pit of Ordeals is located, the Sages reveal that once again Ganondorf is the main villain. Most of the weapons that Link obtains through dungeons have been tweaked slightly.

For example his boomerang which is now the Gale Boomerang can summon winds, turn objects, and extinguish flames. His hookshot is now the Clawshot which almost serves the same purpose however, when he hangs vertically he can raise and lower himself. Eventually in the City of the Sky, he will get two Clawshots so he can swing from object to object like Tarzan or Spiderman. He also gets several new items such as the Spinner, the Ball and Chain, and the Dominion Rod. Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf all took on different appearances and appeared this way in "Super Smash Bros. Brawl."
24. #2-"Kingdom Hearts II" (PS2) What skill can Sora not get for reaching level 99?

Answer: Air Combo Boost

If you choose the sword near the beginning you'll learn MP Rage, if you chose the shield you'll learn Thunder Boost, and if you chose the wand you'll learn Lucky Lucky. This is the sequel to "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories" for the Game Boy Advance and the story can kind of take a while to understand if you haven't played the previous two games.

In this game instead of just the Heartless, Sora has to take on two more types of enemies. One group is called the Nobodies which are symbolized by being gray and are basically just the shells of people who became Heartless.

The other group is called Organization XIII but they were introduced in "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories," but they are prominently featured in "Kingdom Hearts II" as well and essentially they are the leaders of the Nobodies.

In this game many worlds reappear such as Atlantica, The Hundred Acre Wood, and Agrabah. But this also sports many new worlds such as Space Paranoids from "Tron," The Pride Lands from "The Lion King," and The Land of Dragons from "Mulan." One world is even in complete black and white and has a background sound of a movie projector capturing the nostalgia of Mickey's first cartoon "Steamboat Willie." In this game the real Ansem is revealed to be on the side of good and is revealed to be DiZ. Sora and company are obviously trying to find Kairi and Riku but they are also trying to stop Xemnas and the rest of Organization XIII from opening Kingdom Hearts so they can finally get a heart. Axel from Organization XIII appears at Betwixt and Between and helps Sora and betrays the organization. Sora can also change attacks by assuming different forms which are kind of like limits.

He can assume Valor Form, Wisdom Form, Master Form, and Final Form. He can also assume Anti Form but this unlike the other forms is a bad form. In the very final battle against Xemnas you can actually play as Riku as well as Sora. Also the Gummi Ship missions changed a little bit to resemble a more "Star Fox" feel.
25. And the number 1 game that I have played since the end of the year 2007 is... "Super Mario Galaxy" (Wii) What would you get if you preordered the game?

Answer: a commemorative coin

"Super Mario Galaxy" was regarded as one of the most unique and best Mario games yet to date. Taking away every "Nintendo Power" award it was entered in, "Super Mario Galaxy" clearly improved in every way possible. The score was beautifully orchestrated with brand new songs including some orchestrated versions of old songs such as the airship theme from "Super Mario Bros. 3." The new system of Mario being able to run around on circular planets upside down and sideways was confusing to get a hang of but eventually became second nature. Likewise, the original Mario 3-D platformer was preserved in worlds such as the Honeyhive Galaxy.

Many classic enemies such as Goombas, Koopa Troopas, and Magikoopas reappeared. Even though the Wiimote and Nunchuck controls were used, Nintendo still managed to uniquely use the Wiimote in ways so one could surf on manta rays, roll on top of a giant ball, and float around in a giant bubble. Containing over 120 stars, but only needing 60 to beat the game, players were stretched to their wits to obtain some stars especially in the three trial galaxies and what is regarded as the hardest star in the game, "Luigi's Purple Coins" located in the Toy Time Galaxy. And if you beat Bowser twice and get all 120 stars, something fans have been craving for a long time happened...players get to play as Luigi! Luigi can jump higher than Mario however his traction is very bad as he slides far if you stop suddenly. "Super Mario Galaxy" with it's amazing graphics, play control, and music score makes it one of the best games on the Wii if not the best video game ever!
