Banjo-Kazooie Trivia Questions

1. How does Gruntilda take Tooty back to her lair?

From Quiz
Grunty's Plan is Rather Cunning

Answer: Beats her up

Tooty begs for Banjo to help her as Kazooie listens from the window but, with the bear fast asleep and the Breegull tied to the rack, no one is able to stop the witch from executing the first part of her plan to become gorgeous.

2. What's the name of the snake (not the charmer) found in Gobi's Valley?

From Quiz 9 for 10 - "Banjo-Kazooie"

Answer: Histup

You'll find Rubee the snake charmer and his snake Histup inside the pyramid with the Kazooie target on the top. You'll need to make an offering of three eggs out of Kazooie's backside into the bowl circling Histup's basket. This will cause Histup to pop up and stretch himself upwards, allowing you to climb up and retrieve the Jiggy.

3. The first thing you'll see as you enter the world is the large mansion for which Mad Monster Mansion is named after. How many Jiggies, excluding the Jinjo Jiggy, can you get in the house, without any help from Mumbo?

From Quiz Trick or Treating in Mad Monster Mansion

Answer: Two

Most people would think it's only one and that would be the Jiggy inside Napper. However, there is also a wine cellar that is part of the house, and you can find another Jiggy in there. There are actually four Jiggies, in the house, but the other two you must obtain when Mumbo turns you into a pumpkin. In order to get the Jiggy from Napper you must enter in through the chimney rather than the front door and make your way across the large chairs and then walk through him to get the Jiggy. If you use the flight pad he was sitting on you can fly to the chandelier for a Golden Banjo. Also don't forget the Mumbo Token in the fire. You can also find one of the extra Honeycomb pieces in the house as the pumpkin in a second story window. So make sure you break all the windows before coming back as the pumpkin.

4. In Bubblegloop Swamp it was piranhas. In Freezeezy Peak it was freezing cold water. You need the Wading Boots to protect yourself from what creature in Gobi's Valley?

From Quiz Traversing Gobi's Valley

Answer: Sand Eels

Yes, much like clouds and hills having eyes in the Mushroom Kingdom, here in "Banjo-Kazooie" unlikely things will talk to you such as freezing cold water. The first time you step into the hazardous sands. A worm-like creature will talk to you saying something along the lines that only sand eels can live in this sand. But consider yourself lucky, it could be quicksand and you could die if you land in it. Given the choice between the two, I'd take sand eels. You will need the wading boots to cross over the sand pit to the world entrance, easily, and to get some notes in the world itself.

5. One of the first things you'll notice in the peak is an igloo near the start/exit pad. When you enter you see three polar bear cubs. When you enter the igloo what are the designs on the kids' clothes from left to right?

From Quiz Scaling Freezeezy Peak

Answer: pink and yellow diamonds, green diamonds, blue diamonds

These three polar bear cubs belong to a neglectful father named Boggy. If you find the bears' three presents, they'll give you a Jiggy. Also the sad music in the igloo will turn into a happy song and they'll jump and cheer. You can get three Jiggies from Boggy, two as Banjo, and one as a walrus, which Mumbo will transform you into one if you have fifteen Mumbo tokens. Boggy's kids also appear in "Banjo-Tooie" in Witchyworld with their mother Mrs. Boggy. However, in this game one is a girl, and they all have names and if you bring them all back to Mrs. Boggy you get a Jiggy.

6. In Gruntilda's quiz, how many timed mini-games are there?

From Quiz Banjo-Kazooie

Answer: 6

Grunty's Furnace Fun is after Click Clock Wood, and Banjo must make his way across the game board to reach Grunty and Tooty. Zubbas, Boss Boom Box, spelling Banjo-Kazooie backwards, the Tip-Tup choir, facing Mr Vile, and matching pairs in Gobi's Valley are all timed mini-games in the quiz.

7. How many different shortcuts are there (pairs of pots) throughout Gruntilda's Lair?

From Quiz Little Things in "Banjo-Kazooie"

Answer: Four

The "first" shortcut is the pink pots. One is set in an antichamber off the room that contains the puzzles for Treasure Trove Cove and Clanker's Cavern. The other end is in the large room with a statue of Gruntilda's head in it (the room with the Freezeezy Peak entrance). The Green shortcut takes you from the large room, mentioned above, and takes you near the entrance to Rusty Bucket Bay. It's actually not a very large distance to travel on your own (two rooms away), but it saves you from swimming so much. The next shortcut, and the one that takes you farthest, is the orange pot. One is in a small room near the entrances to both Treasure Trove Cove, and Clanker's Cavern, as well as the Click Clock Wood puzzle. The other end is located in a semi-hidden tunnel in the area that has Click Clock Wood's entrance. The last pot, yellow pot, is a short jump that takes you from the beginning of Grunty's Furnace Fun to a location very near the top of the lair.

8. How many worlds are there (not counting Spiral Mountain or Grunty's Lair)?

From Quiz "Banjo Kazooie"

Answer: Nine

The worlds are: Mumbo's Mountain, Treasure Trove Cove, Clanker's Cavern, Bubblegoop Swamp, Freezeezy Peak, Gobi's Valley, Mad Monster Mansion, Rusty Bucket Bay, and Click Clock Wood. Each world has 10 jiggies, 5 jinjos, 100 notes, and 2 empty honeycomb pieces.

9. How many Jiggies are there in each level?

From Quiz "Banjo-Kazooie" N64

Answer: Ten

There are 100 Jiggies in the game. Some Jiggies are tougher to get than others(ex: poke a very angry crab in the eye three times and then go in his shell for a Jiggy) and some are easier (ex: swim to the bottom of a pool and get a Jiggy).

10. Smelly, bug-infested, and slimy, but enough about Gruntilda's hair. The piranha infested waters of Bubblegloop Swamp will prove a problem, which is why Bottles teaches you about Wading Boots. What is the actual name of this move called?

From Quiz Sloshing Through Bubblegloop Swamp

Answer: Stilt Stride

The Stilt Stride uses the Wading Boots and will be one of two pairs of special shoes for Kazooie encountered in Gruntilda's Lair. The Stilt Stride is used for crossing toxic waste, piranha infested water, and sand snake pits.

11. Whenever you go into most bodies of water be prepared to be greeted by Snacker, the shark who patrols Treasure Trove Cove. What sound does Snacker make when he talks?

From Quiz Digging for Treasure Trove Cove

Answer: teeth chomping

When Snacker appears it is very obvious because some ominous music will state his arrival. If you're unlucky enough to land in the open ocean with nothing near around to climb up on to, Snacker will keep pursuing you until you're put out of commission. Snacker can be defeated temporarily by shooting eggs at him but you'd be best to swim away from him.

12. In the introduction, when you first turn on the game, what object do you see walking by?

From Quiz Venturing in Spiral Mountain

Answer: The N64 logo

This is an interesting scene where the N64 logo is walking on all fours. A mosquito enemy, which is found in Bubblegloop Swamp and Click Clock Wood, flies by laughing. The N64 logo shrugs it off and continues walking. The mosquito then runs into the Rareware logo and falls into a pond at the bottom of a waterfall.

13. Where are we if we're feeding a Croctus?

From Quiz Where in Gruntilda's Lair Are We?

Answer: Bubblegloop Swamp

Croctuses will appear one at a time throughout the fourth stage of the game and in order to get our Jiggy from these, we need to feed them eggs as they open and close their mouths. Croctuses are gold, but the eyes are different on each one we meet. They often appear in somewhat tricky positions, but it doesn't matter how far we are; we just need to feed them an egg each.

14. Throughout the worlds you can find extra lives. What are they in the form of?

From Quiz "Banjo-Kazooie" Items

Answer: Trophies

Extra lives are shaped as a Banjo Trophy, and if you happen to lose all of your lives, Grunty will succeed and it will be game over. These are often found in tricky to reach or odd places, and they're rarely, if ever, in plain sight. Extra lives are counted on the top left corner of your screen, and one is lost every time you run out of Honeycombs.

15. The first transformation is in Mumbo's Mountain. What do you become in this stage?

From Quiz A Load of Mumbo Jumbo

Answer: Termite

The first transformation is from Mumbo's hut in the first level. This transformation costs five Mumbo Tokens, all of which can be found in the same stage in various locations. As a termite, it's not possible to attack enemies, but it's possible to climb steep hills with ease. This ability surpasses the Talon Trot's ability to climb steep hills.

16. What is the name of the mole that teaches you techniques throughout the game?

From Quiz Spelling It Out - "Banjo-Kazooie"

Answer: Bottles

Bottles is first met at Spiral Mountain and he has a molehill right outside Banjo's house. It isn't discovered until "Banjo-Tooie" that Bottles has a home with his family in Jinjo Village. Throughout this first adventure though, Bottles will appear in various worlds as a mentor who teaches the bear and bird how to make use of their skills and items. Bottles will also record Note scores.

17. Grunty's Furnace Fun is directly behind which Note Door?

From Quiz Grunty's Furnace Fun

Answer: 765-Note Door

Although you're nearing the end of the game at this point, the 765-Note Door is not the final Note Door in the game. Beyond this, there are five Note Doors- one of which must be opened. Up to this point, it's possible to have accumulated every Note in the game for a total of 900. In the end, you need 882 Notes to open the final Note Door.

18. How many Jiggies are required for the Mad Monster Mansion picture?

From Quiz Mad Monster Mansion

Answer: Ten

This picture is quite far away from the actual level. To reach it, you need to go through the 450-Note Door in the same area as Freezeezy Peak. Once here, swim through the different tunnels until you reach a dead end. There, you must jump in the small areas around the walls in order to reach the picture. Like usual, once the picture is completed, the stage opens.

19. Behind which Note Door will you find the Gobi's Valley Picture?

From Quiz Gobi's Valley

Answer: 350-Note

If you happen to enter this Note Door, the first thing you'll come across is this important picture. To finish it and open up the entrance to Gobi's Valley, you'll need to give up nine of your precious Jiggies. The entrance to this stage is between Bubblegloop Swamp and Freezeezy Peak.

20. What's required to access the Freezeezy Peak picture?

From Quiz Freezeezy Peak

Answer: Wading Boots

To reach the picture for the fifth level, you'll need to have learned how to use the Wading Boots in Bubblegloop Swamp. Around the entrance to the stage, you can find a pair of boots in a pipe system. Put them on and find the pipe in the swampy, piranha-infested water, and you'll find the snowy area containing the picture. Once you've placed eight pieces into the puzzles, the stage will open. You'll also need to open a 260-Note Door to reach the stage.

21. What do you need to do to reach the picture of Bubblegloop Swamp?

From Quiz Bubblegloop Swamp

Answer: Swim

In the area containing the entrance to Clanker's Cavern, you can hit a couple of switches to make some pipes rise. Once you climb onto a pipe and find Brentilda, you can find one more switch to open a large steel grate. Enter this and you can find the Bubblegloop Swamp picture. The picture requires seven Jiggies to open and you'll need to open a 180-Note Door along the way.

22. What skill is needed to access the picture for Clanker's Cavern?

From Quiz Clanker's Cavern

Answer: Use of the Shock Jump Pad

To learn the Shock Jump Pad, you'll need to find the molehill overlooking the sandcastle in Treasure Trove Cove. This skill will allow Kazooie to spring Banjo into the air. To reach the picture, find the Shock Jump Pad in the same room as the Treasure Trove Cove picture and spring up. The Clanker's Cavern picture only requires five Jiggies.

23. How many Jiggies are needed to complete the Treasure Trove Cove picture?

From Quiz Treasure Trove Cove

Answer: Two

This means that you need to obtain at least two Jiggies in Mumbo's Mountain to complete this picture (which isn't that hard. Jiggies practically lie in the open on Mumbo's Mountain). You'll also need to collect half of the Notes found in Mumbo's Mountain (50) to open the note door at the top of the Talon Trot pathway. This is the first of many found in the lair and each will increase in Notes as you progress.

24. How many Jiggies are required to enter the Mumbo's Mountain stage?

From Quiz Mumbo's Mountain

Answer: One

Once you find a single Jiggy in Gruntilda's Lair, you can add it to the Mumbo's Mountain picture on the wall and open up the area. Only one Jiggy can be accessed in the beginning, and there's no way of taking the path to the left of the entrance without learning a certain skill in Mumbo's Mountain. If you try to climb the path, you'll slide right back down.

25. How many Mumbo tokens do you need to become a termite in Mumbo's Mountain?

From Quiz "Banjo-Kazooie" 201

Answer: Five

When you're a termite, you can retrieve the jiggy atop the large termite hill in the level. There is no possible way to reach the top of the hill without becoming a termite, but inside the hill, you can use Banjo and Kazooie to retrieve one of the Mumbo tokens you'll need.

26. This character on Mumbo's Mountain will give you a jiggy if you shoot eggs into its mouth. Who is it?

From Quiz "Banjo-Kazooie" Characters 2

Answer: Juju

Juju is Mumbo's totem pole and he is located right in front of Mumbo's hut. Make sure you leave one piece of him remaining so you can reach the honeycomb over top of him. It'll be your only chance to reach it.

From Quiz "Banjo-Kazooie" 101
