Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" follows on, not surprisingly, from "The Elder Scrolls III". What was this game better known as?

Answer: Morrowind

The first game was "The Elder Scrolls: Arena" and the second was "The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall". "Morrowind", like "Oblivion", is characterized by open-ended ("sandbox") gameplay.
2. At the start of the game, which character is killed in the catacombs below Imperial City?

Answer: Uriel Septim VII

Uriel Septim VII is ambushed and killed by the Mythic Dawn (a Daedric cult) after entrusting the player with the Amulet of Kings. This amulet is a central feature of the main plot of "Oblivion".
3. How many character skills are there in the game?

Answer: 21

These skills are broken down evenly between the categories of melee, magic and stealth. Seven of these skills are defined by the player as major skills and progress in these leads to leveling up.
4. What realm is "Oblivion" set in?

Answer: Cyrodiil

Cyrodiil is an Imperial province in the south-central region of Tamriel and the home of a humanoid race known as Imperials. Cyrodiil is also known as "the Heartland".
5. What is the name of the most northerly town that may be visited in "Oblivion"?

Answer: Bruma

Leyawiin is the most southerly, Cheydinhal the most easterly and Anvil the most westerly. Bruma's population is predominantly Nord, as is reflected in its architecture.
6. In which place can you buy one of the fastest horses in the game?

Answer: Cheydinhal

One of the fastest horses in the game (the Black horse) can be bought at Black Waterside Stables, just outside Cheydinhal. Black horses are the most costly to buy, coming in at 5000g each.
7. The Count of Skingrad is rather unusual. Why is this?

Answer: He's a vampire

Janus Hassildor, the Count of Skingrad, is a vampire. That doesn't stop him being a decent leader though: most of Skingrad's citizens are very happy with him as their Count (even if he does seem to value his privacy more than most).
8. If you wanted to bash a few brains out in The Arena in Imperial City, what team would you be a member of?

Answer: Blue team

The Arena is the place to earn a bit of gold and get some experience, especially near the start of the game. When you enter as a combatant, you're always on the blue team, with your opponent(s) on the yellow team.
9. Sean Bean is a voice actor in "Oblivion". Which character does he play?

Answer: Brother Martin

Patrick Stewart plays Uriel Septim VII and Terence Stamp plays Mankar Camoran. David Cameron became British Prime Minister in 2010!
10. You can buy houses in "Oblivion". The cheapest is a shack in Imperial City. How much does it cost for the deed to this residence?

Answer: 2000 gold

It costs another 2000g to fully equip the shack. Rosethorn Hall in Skingrad is the most expensive property to buy. It costs 25000g for the deed and 23200g to fully furnish it.
