Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. So now that you're the Archmage, you might want to move on to do something more physically demanding. You decide to join the Fighters Guild to get some money and rewards using the good-old slash-and-smash technique. Who can give you your first contract?

Answer: Azzan of the Anvil Fighters Guild

A possible first contract is 'A Rat Problem', where you have to find out who or what has been killing off all of Arvena Thelas' rats. You find out that it was mountain lions, who were being lured to the site by raw meat left by Quill-Weave, a local Argonian who hates rats.
2. As you move up in the Fighters Guild, you have repeated run-ins with a disgruntled member who seems to resent the fact that he isn't being paid enough. Who is this disgruntled man?

Answer: Maglir

You run into Maglir in two "Unfinished Business" quests, where Maglir has defaulted on a contract and you have to finish it for him. He later runs off to join the Blackwood Company and you get to fight and kill him later in the game. (It's very satisfying.)
3. When you go on a mission to investigate what happened at Forsaken Mine, you discover that Viranus has died at the hands of savage trolls. Who's son is Viranus?

Answer: Vilena Donton

As a result of this discovery, Vilena Donton kicks Modryn Oreyn (who sent Viranus on the mission) out of the guild, and might demote you. (It depends on who you talk to first after you return from the Forsaken Mine.) Don't worry though, even if you are demoted, you end up in the same place eventually.
4. When you advance higher in the guild, you and this person take down the Blackwood Company and in return he/she gives you a very good enchanted helm.

Answer: Modryn Oreyn

The Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw is a piece of heavy armor that fortifies your endurance and agility by 10 points each. After this quest you go and talk to Vilena Donton and she gives her title of Master to you. You are now the head of the Fighters Guild.
5. Now that you've become Master of a perfectly legal and honest faction, perhaps it's time for a change to the dark side. To join the Dark Brotherhood, you must kill someone who has not attacked you. When you do, you will be visited in your sleep by this person.

Answer: Lucien Lachance

Lucien Lachance gives you a special dagger and tells you that if you want to be part of the Dark Brotherhood, you must kill an old man named Rufio staying at an out-of-the-way inn. Once you kill him, you become a member of the Dark Brotherhood and gain access to the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary in Cheydinhal.
6. Who is the first person you have to kill for the Dark Brotherhood (in order to be accepted into their 'family').

Answer: Rufio

Rufio is located at the Inn of Ill Omen located pretty far off the beaten path. Once you get to the inn, killing Rufio is easy as he is asleep in an area with no one else around.
7. After you kill the person from question 6 and become a member of the Dark Brotherhood, you get to meet your 'new family'. Which of the following people is NOT in that 'new family'?

Answer: Lord Lovidicus

Lord Lovidicus is the father of the Arena champion, who you discover to be a vampire during the quest 'The Origins of the Gray Prince'. All of the other three roam around the Cheydinhal Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. M'raaj-Dar is the dark merchant, and you can barter with him.

He's the only one who seems to sense his impending doom during the quest 'The Purification' (you have to kill everyone in the Sanctuary), because he suddenly becomes very nice and friendly toward you, whereas before he can be quoted saying "Let's get this straight - I don't like you."
8. Once you've killed everyone in the Dark Brotherhood, you start taking Dead Drop orders to assassinate certain people. Who is the last person you kill while following the Dead Drop orders?

Answer: Ungolim

Ungolim is the current listener for the Black Hand. Before this quest, he can be seen standing in front of the statue of the Lucky Lady of Bravil, and he tells you to go away when you talk to him. Once you kill him, you find out something surprising.
9. You discover that there was a traitor to the Brotherhood who was giving you false orders to knock off the members of the Black Hand. You and the other members remaining find and kill this traitor with the help of the Night Mother. Who was the traitor to the Dark Brotherhood?

Answer: Mathieu Bellamont

You infiltrate Mathieu's residence and find his mother's head (It reminded me of the scene of "Friday the 13th: Part II".) as well as his diary which details how he planned to get revenge upon the Dark Brotherhood for murdering his mother. However, the diary does not reveal his name. You and the other members of the Dark Brotherhood (including Mathieu) go to the Night Mother and she reveals that Mathieu is the traitor.

At this point, the members murder Mathieu and name you the new Listener, thus completing the Dark Brotherhood questline.
10. Now that you are at the top of all the factions and the Champion of Cyrodiil, maybe you want to do a little pure fighting for cash down at the Imperial City Arena. To get your first battle, who must you talk to?

Answer: Owyn the Blademaster

Owyn wil start out disdainful of you, but as you advance in rank, he will start to like you more and more. You talk to him before and after every battle, to initiate the fight and to receive your payment, respectively.

In case you're wondering, Hundolin is the guy you talk to in order to bet on a match. If you have good Security or the Skeleton Key, you can actually pick the lock on the chest next to him for a free 500 gold. (It is stealing though, so don't let anyone see you.)
11. In the penultimate battle, you must fight the Yellow Team Champion, an archer, and a mage all at once. This battle can be very tough if you are not well-prepared. Luckily, Owyn gives you an ally in the form of a friendly yet persistent boar. What is this boar's name?

Answer: Porkchop

If you're lucky, you can attack the Yellow Team Champion while Porkchop distracts one or both of the other battlers. If you can manage to kill the Yellow Team Champion with a reasonable amount of health/magicka left, the rest of the battle should be easy, regardless of whether Porkchop dies or not. (If he dies, make sure to grab the Boar Meat from his corpse.

It's not too often that you run into wild boars in the wild.)
12. Once you have defeated all your opponents in bloody battles, you can fight the Arena Champion for eternal glory. Who is the Gray Prince, the Arena Champion?

Answer: Agronak gro-Malog

Once you have defeated The Gray Prince, you receive the Arena Raiment of Valor from the Battle Matron, and she asks you to fight beasts for money once a week, which you may or may not do. Also, when you leave the Arena, the adoring fan will ask if he can follow you around.

He will carry a torch when it's dark (this can be good for light, but bad for stealth) but will not fight for you. He can also be good pickpocket practice. Just a note: If you have already completed the quest "Origins of the Gray Prince", you won't actually have to defeat gro-Malog. Once the two of you get into the Arena, he'll ask you to kill him because he can not live with the knowledge that he is a vampire. Also note that if you had not already joined the Dark Brotherhood, this would count as murder, and Lachance would come visit you next time you slept.
13. Well, I must say I'm impressed. You are now Archmage of the Mages Guild, Champion of the Fighters Guild, the Gray Fox of the Thieves Guild, the Listener for the Dark Brotherhood, Champion of The Arena, and to top it all off, you are the Champion of Cyrodiil! But there's more destined for you. There are rumors of a powerful weapon called Ebony Blade, given to you by a Daedric Prince, upon completing a task for him. Who is this prince?

Answer: Mephala

In order to complete this quest, you must go to a nearby village and start an war between two currently-friendly families. You must slay the heads of both families and plant evidence that they killed each other. Then you must return to Mephala to claim your reward...
14. You hear of another deadly weapon called Goldbrand owned by a certain Daedric Prince, and you would like to win it from him. Who is this Daedric Prince?

Answer: Boethia

In order to win Goldbrand, you must compete in Boethia's tournament of the ten bloods, where you must fight the nine other races (one at a time) in fights to the death. When you win, you shall receive Goldbrand. Note that you should go with lots of space in you pack, as the nine people you fight will drop loads of great arrows, armor, weapons, and potions that you'll want. You also might want to wear the Gray Cowl, because not only does it give you 200 points of feather, but some of the nine will refuse to attack you because they'll identify you as the Gray Fox.

This makes them easy to kill.
15. Armed with your two new weapons, you decide to take down a female menace located in the Ayleid ruin of Vindasel. This Bosmer warrior is at a high level and is one of the hardest characters in the game to defeat. Who is she?

Answer: Umbra

With a good sword or spell, or if you are above level 15, Umbra is really not that hard to kill. However, she is not a leveled character, so if you fight her while at a low level or without a good method of attack, you will likely die. Her sword, Umbra (yeah, she named herself after her sword), is the most powerful sword in the game (base damage) and also carries a powerful two-minute Soul Trap enchantment. In the quest that you do for Clavicus Vile, he asks that you return the sword to him. (You don't have to though if you don't want to - you get to keep the sword but you don't get his reward, the Masque of Clavicus Vile.) However, until you finish the Clavicus Vile quest, the sword Umbra has weight zero, so you might want to put off completing the quest (feel free to start it) until you can bear a 45-pound sword in your inventory.
