Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Arena is at the heart of Cyrodiil's Imperial City. For the gamer, there are two options for their arena experience. One is to fight one-on-one in the arena. What is the other option?

Answer: Bet on fights

As a spectator, a player can bet 25, 50 or 100 pieces of gold. If they win, they get double of what they bet. If the player loses, the money is gone. Ways to improve a player's odds include fortifying luck, or exploiting glitches which allow players to directly intervene in the matches. While a player has a bet placed, the arena's Blademaster forbids them to fight.
2. What is the name of the arena's Blademaster?

Answer: Owyn

Owyn is an eccentric character who uses his sarcastic and forward nature to deal with the prospective fighters of the Arena. The lower a person is, the worse he treats them. Once a person becomes a champion, Owyn treats them like gold. Battle Matron Ysabel gives the player fights after the they become the Grand Champion.

Interestingly enough, Owyn believes that Ysabel is in love with him. Upon discussing it with Ysabel, she denies the rumour.
3. Why is the waiting room for the arena's combatants named the "Bloodworks"?

Answer: Blood often seeps down from the arena into the waiting room.

The "Bloodworks" are where competitors can train and accept challenges. Covered with blood and horribly dim, the mood within the room is quite tense. In a storyline mission late in the game, it is revealed that the blood that flows into the "Bloodworks" actually satisfies the hunger of several vampires living below the Arena.
4. If the player speaks to Agrok gro-Malog, the Grand Champion of the Arena, he gives them a quest. He sends the player to Crowhaven to find out if he really is the "Grey Prince" he believes himself to be. Upon completion, what does he turn out to be?

Answer: Half vampire

After reaching Crowhaven, the player is met by all sorts of wild animals, before reaching a private chamber. Upon killing the room's resident, it is revealed that Agrok is related to an Orc(mother) and a Vampire(father). The completion of the quest also makes the final arena match a piece of cake. Normally, Agrok would accept the player's challenge and fight hard to destroy them. If the Crowhaven quest is complete, however, Agrok will charge at the player and then stop begging for death without resistance. Killing the post-Crowhaven Agrok classifies as murder and the Dark Brotherhood takes notice.

After killing Agrok, the player must remove his raiment and give it to Battle Matron Ysabel. After doing so, the player gets their own Battle Raiment or Cuirass of Valor.

The armor fortifies health, athletics, and fatigue.
5. Which of the following is not a rank attainable as an arena combatant?

Answer: Vanquisher

The ranking system of the arena goes very much like the grading system of a martial arts school. The order is Pit Dog, Brawler, Bloodletter, Myrmidon, Warrior, Gladiator, Hero, Champion, and then Grand Champion. The matches are easy in the beginning but progressively become more difficult as the player progresses in rank.
6. Once the player reaches the Gladiator rank, their first match is the ultimate in unfairness. The player must defeat three prisoners of a certain race to advance. What race are these prisoners?

Answer: Argonian

The three Argonian prisoners were captured by guards for an unknown reason and cast into the arena. They were offered their freedom if they could defeat the newest Gladiator, which happened to be the player. All three are higher in level, than the player, but two are unarmed.

The trick to beating the match, without using invisibility, centers on separation. Run around, so the Argonians are not clustered in on you. Take out the unarmed people one by one and then the armed Argonian will fall with little effort.
7. The match that would advance the player to Champion, is just as unfair as the first Gladiator match. In the match, the player must battle three NPC's. One is the yellow team's champion while the other two are lower-leveled Gladiators. To assist the player, the Blademaster sends a Boar to help. What is the Boar's name?

Answer: Porkchop

Porkchop the Boar, is a powerful beast at a similar level to the player. The advancement match is made simple because of Porkchop's ability to knock enemies off their feet that allows for easy kills. If the player just runs around without attacking the opposition, Porkchop could easily take out the entire yellow team. Upon victory, Owyn gives the player 500 gold and the promotion to Champion.
8. The final blue team Gladiator is happy that the player killed Agrok.

Answer: False

When the player defeats the yellow team and becomes the Champion of the arena, the blue team's Gladiator is happy for the player. After Agrok is eliminated, however, the blue team Gladiator is extremely distressed because Agrok was both his friend and mentor.
9. The Imperial City Arena is the only arena that ever existed in Cyrodiil.

Answer: False

Despite being the only playable arena in the game, the destroyed city of Kvatch also had its own arena. In the mission where the player must defend Kvatch from Daedra, the player is lead right over the fighting pit of the crumbled Kvatch Arena.
10. After becoming the Grand Champion of the arena, the player is rewarded with a new set of armour. Upon receiving the armour, has the arena quest officially ended?

Answer: No

After earning the Grand Champion's armour, the arena missions do not end. The arena's Battle Matron, offers the player a chance to fight all sorts of animals from across Cyrodiil. If a player's level is under 5, the opponents they can choose from are Boars, Wolves and Goblin Skirmishers. If a player is between levels 6 and 8, they can choose to fight Goblin Berserkers, Trolls or a combination of the two. If a player is between levels 9 and 11, they can choose to fight Mountain Lions, a Spriggan, or a combination of the two. If the player's level falls in the 12-14 range, they can choose to fight Bears or Minotaurs. If the player is between levels 15 and 17, they can battle Ogres and a Land Dreugh. If the player is higher than level 18, they can choose to fight one, two, or three Minotaur Lords.
