1. The hero of the game, Jubei Yagyu, returns to his hometown of Yagyu Village, only to discover that it had been ravaged by the Genma. An alluring voice leads Jubei to a secret pond at the end of his village. There, he learns that one of his parents was an Oni, and as result, he himself is part Oni. Which parent, of his, was an Oni?

Answer: Mother

After meeting Jubei's mother, an Oni, you learn the ability to use the marking on your hand to absorb souls. After you have the ability to absorb souls, you unlock your first Oni elemental weapon, one with lightning ability. After unlocking the weapon you travel to the mining town of Imasho and meet your future allies.

2. After unlocking the power of the Oni, Jubei heads to the mining town of Imasho. There he runs into Ekei and Magoichi, battling each other over a woman. After breaking up the fight, Jubei earns the ability to give gifts to each character. To get Ekei to join you, what kinds of gifts would you give him?

Answer: Liquor and food

Ekei Ankokuji is a monk who happens to be a master of the Hozoin spear. He has a strange desire for liquor and food for no particular reason, when you first meet him, but you soon learn that the reason he wants those items is to take his mind off of his wife, and daughter, who were killed by the Genma.

3. After acquiring the pass to the mine of Imasho, Jubei runs into a Genma general, named Ginghamphatts. After defeating him, Jubei helps a starving old-man caught in the mine. After helping him, Jubei earns an item that opens a portal which takes him to a very familiar place from Samanosuke's adventure, in the previous "Onimusha" game. What place am I referring to?

Answer: Inabayama Castle

As you travel through the ruins of Inabayama Castle, you would no doubt notice several of the events which Samanosuke accomplished in the castle. Once in the castle, you are entrusted with a mission to save a man's baby from the Genma. Ekei shows up and begins to show his true self, as he reveals his disturbing past, even shaking Magoichi, in the process.

4. In the room where Samanosuke faces Fortinbras, Jubei encounters a new enemy, who calls himself the greatest swordsman of all demons. Who is this enemy, who continuously battles Jubei, on several occasions throughout the game?

Answer: Gogandantess

Although Gogandantess is a Genma General, he seems to be a very honourable fighter. He doesn't kill Jubei when he disarms him, and he even goes far enough to save Oyu from her doom, which even Jubei was grateful for. In the first two battles with Jubei, Gogandantess beat the greatest swordsman of all humans.

The third time they battled, Jubei used the Oni Flute to take down Gogandantess' shield. After that, Jubei killed Gogandantess and was even told how strong he'd become. Gogandantess met an honorable end.

5. After returning from the ruins of Inabayama Castle, Jubei heads to the market of Imasho, after learning that a woman was waiting for him. The woman turned out to be Nobunaga's love interest, a Genma General, named Jujodhorma. After talking to her, she beams Jubei back to Yagyu Village. After she kills Jubei's mother, he finds a puzzle piece, for a secret lock in his house. After opening the lock, Jubei travels through a secret passage. To what geographical terrain does Jubei emerge?

Answer: Mountain

The mountain path leads to a forest, which has an evil power over it. The evil power mentioned, is a Genma haze, created to make all unwanted visitors disappear. Jubei, however, does not just give in to that Genma trap, instead he gets help from Kotaro, and defeats a powerful Genma General.

6. After fighting Ginghamphatts, again, Jubei begins a search for three items that unlock a gate to Jujodhorma's hideout. What character in the game do these three items resemble?

Answer: Nobunaga

The names of each respective Nobunaga statues are: "Nobunaga's Reign", "Nobunaga's Dignity" and "Nobunaga's Knowledge". After placing them into their respective positions in the pedestal, a door is unlocked that grants you access to the murderer of Jubei's mother.

7. After defeating Jujodhorma, and upsetting the Genma, Jubei finds himself on an unknown island. The greatest swordsman of all demons fights with Jubei a second time and wins again. He does not strike Jubei down, because Oyu intervenes. After patching up Jubei, Oyu heads into the nearby temple and retrieves an ancient artifact of the Oni. What is the artifact called?

Answer: Oni Flute

The purpose of the Oni Flute is to take down the superior shielding of any demon that is too strong for the hero. The demon which the flute is used for is none other than Gogandantess. After being used, Gogandantess was weakened and therefore more easily defeated than before.

8. After getting through the island, Jubei and his allies end up near the grounds of Inabayama Castle. With Magoichi as his ally, Jubei heads into a cave to retrieve an item that clears the path ahead of him. Unfortunately, Tokichiro, using Guildenstern's technology, petrifies Jubei, and it is up to Magoichi to save him. Magoichi has no problem retrieving the anti-petrify powder.

Answer: False

It seemed to be easy for Magoichi. After opening the treasure chest and retrieving the powder, it looked like all Magoichi had to do was walk back and use the item, however there was more to it than that. A Genma bird, attacked Magoichi and snatched the item away from him. Magoichi had a bit of trouble just trying to find the bird, much less destroying it.

9. With all of the Oni orbs in hand, Jubei is ready to take on Nobunaga, but Ginghamphatts hinders his progress once again. Travelling along one of the story paths, one of your allies are killed by him. Which ally is it?

Answer: Kotaro

The game has multiple endings, and story lines, and one of the plot twists was surely the death of Kotaro. Kotaro went to help Jubei and was stabbed from behind by Ginghamphatts. After Jubei destroys Ginghamphatts, once and for all, he turns his attention back to the dying Kotaro. Prior to his demise, Kotaro reveals to Jubei that the reason he distrusts women, is that his own mother abandoned him as a child. At the very second he dies, Kotaro sheds a tear and sees his mother, who had already died, long ago.

With Magoichi as an ally, the end of Ginghamphatts would be very quick. Magoichi uses a bazooka to blow Ginghamphatts up. There is nothing special for having Ekei or Oyu as allies.

10. Upon defeating Nobunaga's human form, Jubei is shocked to discover that Nobunaga had created an evil device that allows his power to be transferred to it. What is the device called?

Answer: Golden Evil Statue

The human form of Nobunaga is relatively easy to defeat. All he does is shoot energy beams at Jubei, and occasionally strikes with his sword. After he is defeated, he transfers his power to the Golden Evil Statue. After that occurs, Jubei transforms into his Oni form and battles an almost invincible creation.

After earning victory, the whereabouts of Nobunaga's body are unknown, but the disappearance of the Genma can only mean that the evil had been vanquished, or had it?
