"Quest For Glory 4:" The Paladin Quiz

Answer: Piotyr

Piotyr is a very important character in the story. You hear about him no matter what your character class is, but only the paladin meets him. Many years ago, a cult tried to summon a powerful dark being in this world. They nearly succeeded, but Piotyr and Erana stopped them and prevented the Dark One from fully entering this world. Erana died battling the Dark One directly, and Piotyr brought her staff to town and told everyone she was dead. He put the staff in the center of the town, and it protects the town from the influence of the dark one. People can even sleep at the staff and have a pleasant dream. Piotyr then set out to burn the Dark One Rituals, but he died in the process.

If you're a paladin, you can meet Piotyr at the staff at night. You can't talk to him, but he will talk to you and give you some advice on what to do.

Answer: The Flaming Sword

When Katrina and Ad Avis summoned the hero away from Tarna, he dropped Soulforge (the paladin sword that Rakeesh gave to him). The hero will never again use Soulforge. He'll have to find a different paladin sword. In the meantime, he'll have to survive the early portion of the game with just the fighter sword.

Answer: The swamp

The Rusalka avoids the swamp because of the grasping hands and the Chernovies.

She doesn't INTENTIONALLY avoid the forest or the town, she's just incapable of leaving the lake because of the Rusalka curse.

She certainly doesn't avoid other people. Other people should avoid her.

Answer: Give her flowers

If you're not a paladin, the only thing you can do for the Rusalka is give her flowers. This will give you points and it will make her like you. She will talk to you a couple of times in return. But all the non-paladin will ever be able get with her is information. In addition, the non-paladin will never be able to enter the lake without the Rusalka drowning him.

The paladin can do so much more for her. Also, the paladin can give the Rusalka flowers more than once. This is a quick way to raise honor and gain paladin abilities.

Answer: Magda

Piotyr will tell you to help the Rusalka, but he won't DIRECTLY tell you everything you need to do. He'll just tell you to speak to the gypsies. Magda is the one who tells you exactly everything you need to do to help her.

Answer: Elyssa

Elyssa doesn't remember her own true name. You learn the Rusalka's true name by going to the graveyard and reading the tombstones. The one that mentions the watery grave is the Rusalka, and according to the tombstone, her name was Elyssa.

Answer: Janos

This question is somewhat tricky because the tombstones are somewhat misleading. According to the tombstones, Barney Blue is the one who was untrue to his lover. They say that Janos was faithful forever to his lost true love. However, the 2nd part of Janos's epitath says he was laid beside his lover's grave, and the grave next to Janos is Elyssa's grave. So obviously whoever wrote Janos's epitath was mistaken. Most of the people of Mordavia never knew the truth about Janos and Elyssa. The only person whoever knew the truth about them was Piotyr.

Barney Blue's grave isn't next to Elyssa's. Besides, all of the tombstones in the graveyard have epitaths that are meant to be funny except for the tombs of Janos and Elyssa. That's another hint that those 2 are important.

Answer: Her lover drowned her

Elyssa and Janos were engaged. To celebrate, they went skinny-dipping together. Janoes wanted to have sex in the lake, but Elyssa refused. So he drowned her. And he shamefully got away with it. Everyone in Mordavia believed Elyssa's death was an accident, and Janos was never perceived as the murderer he was. And Elyssa will never be avenged unless the hero is a paladin and helps her.

In the real world, people like Janos make me so angry.

Answer: Broom

The sole purpose of the broom in this game is to beat Janos's grave 3 times so that you can destroy his wraith. It is the most expensive item in the store. Thankfully, you only need one and only if you're a paladin. There is very little need for money in "Quest For Glory 4".

The shopping bag is a thief item. The pie pan is needed no matter what your character class is. The oil is mainly a thief item, but in this game oil is useful for every character class.

Answer: To be kissed by a hero

After you've defeated Janos, Elyssa will suddenly become A LOT less attractive. This will make this final task seem A LOT less appealing than it did before you destroyed Janos. Nonetheless, if you want to put the Rusalka's soul at rest, you have to give her what she truly wants.

The one thing she truly wants is to be kissed by a hero, not by a murderer. So you will have to risk your life, enter the water, and kiss the no-longer-attractive woman. She will disappear before she can drown you. This is the one time that you can kiss the Rusalka and she won't drown you.

Answer: Heart

Piotyr set out to find all the Dark One rituals and burn them. But he was killed by Gregor. When the paladin hero defeats Gregor and obtains the heart ritual, he also gets Piotyr's sword. This will be the paladin's sword for the rest of the "Quest For Glory" series.

Answer: The Burgomeister

Piotyr is the Burgomesiter's grandfather. That's why they look and talk a little alike. Piotyr is perceived as a horrible man in the eyes of the townspeople because they think he just abandoned his wife for no reason. Dmitri's grandmother knew that her husband did not abandon her, and even slept with him at Erana's staff. Nobody believed her though, not even Dmitri. Dmitri is overjoyed when the paladin hero proves that his grandmother was telling the truth, Piotyr did not abandon his wife, and Piotyr was actually a great hero. Dmitri is overjoyed that the public perception of him and his family is turned upside down.

Answer: His shield

When you bring Piotyr's sword to Dmitri, Dmitri gives you his shield. Dmitri loves and respects you as a hero and he gives you Piotyr's shield. Now you have a powerful sword and shield that will be yours for the rest of the "Quest For Glory" series.

Answer: Burn the monastery

When you've done everything you need to do to the monastery. You can burn it. You get no points for doing this though. You just get honor, which is only useful to the paladin.

Answer: Olga and Boris

Boris has run off to be the gatekeeper of the castle. Olga thinks he is dead. It turns out they had relationship problems because with the rains creating the swamp that cut Mordavia off from the rest of the world, there were few customers. So Boris did not see the point in keeping the business open. Olga says that people buy her avocado and garlic sandwiches all the time. When the hero shares this with Boris, he remembers how much he loves his wife's cooking and gets back together with her.

Any character class can talk to Olga and Boris, going back and forth between the two of them until they reunite. However, you don't get any points for doing this. You just get honor, which is only useful for the paladin.

All character classes have to reunite Nikolai and Anna to beat the game. Yuri and Bella are sometimes fighting, but they were never broken up. Katrina and Ad Avis was a joke answer.
