1. How does the wizard get across the pit in the beginning?

Answer: Levitate

The wizard finds a sheet on one of the bodies in the cave. He uses that sheet to use the wind to help him levitate across the pit safely. He doesn't have the glide spell yet and even if he did, it doesn't work here.
2. If you're a wizard, what item won't be found in the adventurer's guild?

Answer: Rope and grapnel

There is a rope and grapnel in the adventurer's guild unless you are a wizard. The wizard can use spells as a substitute for what other character classes use the rope and grapnel for.

The thieves' guild is always there no matter what your character class is, you just can't get into it unless you are a thief.
3. What spell do you learn from Dr. Cranium?

Answer: Glide

If you have magical ability and you ask Dr. Cranium about magic, he will give you the scroll for the Glide spell. Someone gave the scroll to him saying it was a magic spell. He laughed it off and later gave it to the hero if he was a wizard. As he wizard reads the scroll, he learns the glide spell. When you learn a spell the scroll falls apart. Dr. Cranium, not understanding how magic works, says that it wasn't even a very good piece of paper.

You need this spell to beat the game. Unfortunately, it's not as useful in the series as it should be. It only works over water, and it doesn't carry over to "Quest For Glory 5" because it would have made island travel too easy.
4. The wizard can do all the break-ins that the thief can do.

Answer: True

This is the only "Quest For Glory" game where break-ins can be done by non-thieves. Any class can break into Nikolai's house. Fighter's and Paladins can't break into the Burgomeister's house at night but wizards can thanks to the Open spell. The wizard doesn't really need to break into the Burgomeister's house though.

It is easy to rescue Igor if you are a wizard and the wizard gets no additional points for freeing the gypsy first.
5. The wizard can safely levitate over the town gates.

Answer: True

Although the gates close at night, the wizard can easily levitate in and out of town. It would be nice if he could have done that in the first game. As is usually the case in "Quest For Glory" games, the screen just outside of town is safe. You can meet a dangerous character just outside of town some nights but that character won't be dangerous to you.
6. The wizard can safely levitate over the castle gates.

Answer: False

Boris won't allow you to do it during the daytime. If you do it at night you'll be instantly killed by the necrotaurs on the other side of the gate. If you're strong enough you can force your way in one night and then kill the necrotaurs. After that, you can't enter the castle through the main entrance until you have all the rituals. Forcing your way in one night is recommended only for the fighters.

The wizard does not need to work on his strength, and only the fighter gets points for forcing his way in the castle.
7. Which part of Mordavia is especially important to the wizard?

Answer: Erana's Garden

It's good to know where Erana's Garden is no matter what your character class is, but it is especially important to the wizard. There are no mana pills in this game and Dr. Cranium certainly doesn't make them, so the only way to restore your magical ability is via the fruits in Erana's Garden.

In addition, Erana's Garden has a spell. Lastly, directy south of Erana's Garden at night, the wizard can see some things he will need to know about.
8. What spell is useless in this game, except to draw a comment from one of the characters?

Answer: Reversal

Your reward for beating WIT doesn't turn out to be as much of a reward as you'd think. Reversal is only really necessary in "Quest For Glory 2" and "Quest For Glory 3". It's kind of useful in "Quest For Glory 5", but not for much. In "Quest For Glory 4", the only thing you can do with reversal is cast it in the fairy battle. If you do this, the queen fairy will immediately tell her friends to use area attacks. So the reversal spell does nothing except get the queen fairy to say that and it's not necessary.

Resistance is the spell you use against the fairies. Fetch has many uses, you can fetch the bonsai bush or some mana-restoring fruit. Trigger can be used on traps and in Erana's Garden.
9. What spell can you learn from Katrina in this game?

Answer: Frost Bite

"Frost Bite" is probably the best spell you will learn in the series. It's the most powerful offensive spell that can't instantly kill you are take of a ton of mana. Also it is used to solve several puzzles in this game. So Katrina, despite her selfishness, willingly teachers you some very good spells in this series.
10. What spell do you learn from the gypsies?

Answer: Aura

Magda teaches you the Aura spell which protects you from attacks of the undead. You need it to defeat the wraiths in this game. It's more useful in "Quest For Glory 5" when you go to Hades where you meets tons of undead creatures who want to kill you.
11. What spell can you learn from Baba Yaga?

Answer: Hide

If you bring Baba Yaga some food that she likes, you can ask her to teach you a spell. She will then teach you the Hide spell, which allows you to remain invisible as long as you stand still. She uses it all the time in her house which is why you usually can't see her right away. You can use it when you're being chased by a monster to avoid combat.

It's not particularly useful because Calm is already useful enough for that effect. But Baba Yaga didn't want to teach you a more useful spell because she didn't want you to be able to get her.
12. Obtaining which ritual is different for the wizards than for the other character classes?

Answer: Heart

The other three character classes get the Heart Ritual from the southernmost wraith, presumably Gregor. The wizard gets it from a group of fairies that want to kill him for Erana's staff. I LOVE the music for the fairy battle!
13. Who is the queen fairy?

Answer: Tatiana

Tatiana is a greedy queen who wants Erana's staff so she can feel even more vain about herself. When the hero gets it, Tatiana tries to summon it from him. The staff refuses, deciding to stay with the hero. Hence, Tatiana must kill the hero to get the staff. She has subordinates fairies under her command to help her with this task. The hero must kill Tatiana to get the heart ritual and the resistance spell.

If you look at Tatiana, John Rhys-Davies will tell you that she is like Zara, who is a fairy herself. But being like Zara does not make her Zara.
14. What the order of spell the wizard must cast to break out of the bone cage?

Answer: Flame Dart, Frost Bite, Force Bolt

You read in the adventurer's guild that a combination of a heat spell and a cold spell can weaken things. So you start off with flame dart and frost bite, your heat and ice spells, to weaken the bones. When the bones are weak enough, they can be broken with a force bolt.
15. How does Erana's staff work differently for the wizard than for the other character classes?

Answer: The wizard has to summon it

The other character classes can just take out Erana's staff when the time comes to use it. The wizard must cast "Summon Staff" to use it. This causes a bug at the end of the game. You have to cast Summon Staff before you can touch to staff to the crystal.

However, sometimes the game won't last you cast any spells at the end of the game. So it is possible to get stuck there. It depends on how fast your computer is.
