Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In addition to Ratchet, Clank, Cronk and Zephyr, which of these characters will you also find aboard the Nebulox VII prison ship?

Answer: The Plumber

Attending to some work aboard the Nebulox VII, the Plumber ends up trapped in the ship's vault when it is destroyed by Thugs-4-Less and the Progs. He is freed on planet Thram when Ratchet and Clank collect the keys to open it. After this, he is able to construct the RYNO VII for Ratchet, if all the holo-plans are collected.

The exact reason why the Plumber felt the need to construct a superweapon like the RYNO VII is not clear, given that previous incarnations of the RYNO were constructed by weapons corporations or, in the case of 'All 4 One', by Dr. Frumpus Croid in the form of a proto-suit.
2. Which of these Level 1 weapons is not correctly matched with its Level 3 counterpart?

Answer: Winterizer / Chill-o-Matic

The Winterizer, which upgrades to the Blizz-o-Matic at Level 3, joins the cast of morphing weapons that have been in the series since the beginning. This festive weapon transforms the battlefield into a veritable winter wonderland, changing enemies into harmless snowmen, frozen in time in the very position they were in prior to their abrupt transformation. Raritanium upgrades can add additional functions to the Winterizer/Blizz-o-Matic, including creating "helpful" presents that contain bolts, health or ammunition.
3. Who or what guards the Meero Orphanage on planet Yerek?

Answer: Voltanoid

This huge robotic beast is armed with a harmful laser beam of sorts and a shield. Ratchet needs to stop attacking when its shield is up as all shots will simply ricochet off it. He can also earn a skill point by defeating this particular Voltanoid using only the wrench, a feat that, on the surface, seems rather difficult to complete, but actually is fairly easy if Ratchet's times his wrench attacks and jumps to avoid the sweeping laser attack move when it's telegraphed.
4. What's the name of the mayor of the Zarkov Sector who can be heard in Weeblesnog City making various announcements?

Answer: Gumblebrick

Mayor Gumblebrick constantly makes announcements regarding the Alpha-9 (haunted) status of the sector and the subsequent ghost/nether invasion. Though some of these remarks may be more dubious than others, he ends each with a hasty "Vote Gumblebrick", suggesting that there is an impending election.

In one particular announcement, Gumblebrick blames the emptying of the First Bank of Weeblesnog vaults on the ghosts, though it is heavily implied that he himself ordered them to be emptied and the funds transferred to his ship.
5. Which festive tune does the Winterizer play when used?

Answer: Jingle Bells

The Winterizer is the third weapon in the series to play music when it's used. The first was the RYNO V in 'Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time', which played Tchaikovsky's '1812 Overture'; the second was the RYNO VI Protosuit in 'Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One', which played heavy rock music.

The Winterizer's cheerful Christmassy tune is countered by the altogether menacing 'Night On Bald Mountain' by the Russian composer Mussorgsky, which plays when Ratchet pulls the trigger on the RYNO VII (also in 'Nexus' and unlocked later in the game).
6. Where does Ratchet obtain the Grav-Tether device?

Answer: Planet Yerek

Used primarily to cross large gaps and abysses, the Grav-Tether is a device constructed by Pollyx himself. Given to Ratchet after rescuing another Terachnoid shortly after crash landing on Yerek, the Grav-Tether connects two Grav Targets by creating a traversable beam of energy. To counter the sheer terror one would presumably feel travelling over an abyss, the Grav-Tether plays elevator-style, easy listening music.
7. Which of these is not a boss at the Thugs-4-Less Destructapalooza on planet Kragg?

Answer: King Netherbrute

The Blaze Bot, for all intents and purposes, is pretty much like the Voltanoid on planet Yerek. The added difficulty comes from having fire-based attacks and Thugs-4-Less mercenaries join the battle. The Rabid Gargathon, again, has a very similar attack style to the Gargathons encountered on planet Thram, but part way through the challenge, a jetpack station emerges from the lava briefly, encouraging Ratchet to take the fight to the skies.

The Prog Bot is a Thugs-4-Less built robotic replica of Neftin Prog, the battle against which plays out pretty much exactly like the real battle against Neftin in Weeblesnog City.
8. What do the Nether Blades change into once they reach Level 3?

Answer: Prog Blades

Much like the Buzz Blades from previous games, the Nether Blades fire out high-velocity projectiles that ricochet off enemies and surfaces. The name quite obviously refers to the fact that these projectiles are rife with nether energy, meaning the Nether Blades (and, indeed, the upgraded Prog Blades) can be used against Mr. Eye and count towards the "Eye for an Eye" skill point (which involves killing Mr. Eye using only nether-based weapons, such as the Nether/Prog Blades and the Netherbeast/fiend.
9. After sending Mr. Eye and the rest of the Nethers back to the Netherverse, what happens to Vendra and Neftin?

Answer: Neftin carries Vendra off to prison

Honouring his side of the bargain made earlier, Neftin scoops up Vendra and heads for prison, or the authorities at least. Drained of her power from forcing Mr. Eye and the nethers back to the netherverse using the Dimensionator, Vendra is powerless to resist. She asks Neftin if she can still be evil and he tells her to shut up.
10. Who ends up taking the broken Dimensionator with them?

Answer: Clank

In the final scene before the credits, the broken Dimensionator sits on the floor of the Intergalactic Museum of History, as Ratchet and Clank return to the topic of finding Ratchet's kind. Content with the friends he has now, Ratchet goes to leave and return to Talywn.

As his back is turned, Clank quickly grabs the Dimensionator and hides it away, perhaps foreshadowing a future appearance of the the device and a return to the search for the Lombaxes.
