Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The "hub" area of the game, where players return to after completing each mission, pays homage to which of these areas from past 'Ratchet & Clank' games?

Answer: Starship Phoenix (from 'Ratchet & Clank 3')

Noticeably smaller than its predecessor, the Starship Phoenix II serves as Captain Qwark's base of operations, though prior to the beginning of the game, it's shown that Qwark actually lives on it, bored with nothing dangerous going on in the galaxy. In a contrast to previous AI systems featured in the series (such as Ratchet's ship Aphelion or the Great Clock's computer), Barry, the Starship Phoenix II's AI, seems to be less "artificial" and more real-sounding, using more slang and conversational language. Players are able to view the galactic map and set a course for new destinations at the ship's bridge, while QForce promotions are obtained at the rear of the ship, just behind Aphelion.
2. Who was responsible for motivating Stuart Zurgo to becoming an evil supervillain?

Answer: Captain Qwark

Once a Qwark fanboy, Stuart Zurgo's first appearance in the series was way back in 'Ratchet & Clank 2'. He appeared at the Megacorp Armoury on planet Todano where he gave the duo the Armour Magnetiser, a device that attracts bolts at a greater range than usual, in exchange for a Qwark action figure (which, in turn, was obtained from the Plumber aboard the Flying Lab/Thugs-4-Less Prison Ship on planet Aranos).

After Qwark was embroiled in many scandals and his reputation diminished, Zurgo lost all respect for his former idol and vowed to take revenge on Qwark for destroying Zurgo's dreams and ruining his admiration for him. Cue the events of 'Ratchet & Clank: QForce'.
3. Which two weapons can only be found in major weapon pods?

Answer: Warmonger & Plasmabomb Launcher

Arguably the two most powerful weapons in the game, the Warmonger and Plasmabomb Launcher can be found in major weapon pods located in remote or hard-to-reach places in each level. While the first level, which takes place at the Korgon Refinery on Markazia, contains only one major weapon pod, subsequent levels offer the opportunity for you to acquire both of these heavy hitters.
4. The Transmorpher Mine will change affected enemies into what cuddly creature?

Answer: Rabbit

Adding to the slew of transforming weapons and gadgets, the Transmorpher Mine will turn your enemies into cute, fluffy bunnies, rendering them harmless to you. Following up a Transmorpher Mine detonation (which has turned eight enemies into bunnies) with a Groovitron will turn the battlefield into a bunny dance party and, for your efforts, you'll be rewarded with the "A Night at the Mansion" trophy.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to purchase the Transmorpher Mine in competitive play modes, presumably because the transformation is irreversible and you wouldn't want to get stuck as a bunny for the whole match.
5. Amongst the QForce's defences are barriers, which offer up some basic protection at the entrances to the QForce base. By the end of the game, three different barriers are available. Which of these is not one of those?

Answer: Pyro Versa-Barrier

Light Versa-Barriers become available first, and offer limited protection against the incoming Grungarian forces. Capable of temporarily halting the onslaught, Light Versa-Barriers won't withstand many hits before dissipating. Heavy Versa-Barriers provide more protection and can take more hits before allowing the fervent foes to continue on their way. Shock Versa-Barriers will, as the name suggests, zap enemies when they come into contact with the barrier, but for ranged attackers like the Grungarian Bomber and the Missile Minion, the electricity coursing through the barrier will have no effect on them as they tap away at.
6. QForce medals are awarded upon completion of each level, which contribute to your overall QForce rank. In order to obtain the full three medals for each level (excluding the very last one), you need to satisfy three conditions. Which of these is not one of those three?

Answer: Used every available weapon at least once

The QForce promotions provide the team with some useful rewards, like increased hoverboot speed, health regeneration and the ability to smash crates at a distance (using the box breaker). With the exception of Zurgo's Lair of Doom (which only awards one medal for completion), you will need to obtain all three medals on each level by playing fast and protecting your base from the Grungarians. Don't worry too much if your base generators take a bit of damage, as they can be repaired. You should be worried if they become in danger of being destroyed completely, as you can't repair them once they're gone. Additionally, you don't need to beat the Insomniac developer time in order to receive the time medal; a much more obtainable time is your goal and can be viewed at any time by pausing the game while in a level and looking for the "goal" time. Collecting plenty of bolts and investing in Warmonger Turrets for your base is a sure-fire way of ensuring an easy victory, as these pack the biggest punch in the game.
7. What is GrummelNet harvesting on Proteus VII, the setting of the game's third level?

Answer: Plasma

It's not entirely clear why GrummelNet decided to set up shop around the Planetary Defence Centre on planet Proteus VII and begin their plasma harvesting there, but it seemed like this was the best spot to collect plasma for their Plasma Park and Torture Dungeon. Nevertheless, your job, as usual, is to reactivate the two key nodes and restore power to the Planetary Defence Centre. Zurgo's forces gain a few new additions here, namely the Grungarian Wrecking Drones and the heavily-armoured Grungarian Tanks.
8. You will automatically have the swingshot when you begin a level; you don't need to retrieve it from a weapon pod.

Answer: False

Slightly bizarrely, you will begin every stage totally bereft of weapons and gadgets. Armed only with an Omniwrench or similar melee weapon, you'll need to fight your way through literally nothing at all to reach the first weapon pod, conveniently located inside the QForce base (with the exception of Zurgo's Lair of Doom).

After that, you must leave the relative safety of the base and venture out to find the remaining pods, choosing your weapons carefully (although it's possible to complete each level with only one weapon - V5 Buzz Blades, anyone?).

The swingshot is contained within its own pod and the handy marker on the minimap will guide you towards it. It only appears, however, on Ebaro and Proteus VII.
9. How many weather beacons are there to destroy during Ebaro's snow storm?

Answer: Ten

After the first successful restoration of Ebaro's Planetary Defence Centre, you'll find yourself back at the Hidden City of Balkai where the weather has gone a little bit haywire. So much so that this once lush, jungle-like environment is now covered in a blanket of snow and overrun by powerful blizzard twisters thanks to Zurgo's meddling. Ten weather beacons scattered across the level control this disturbance in the weather and, surprise surprise, it's your job to put them out of commission. Of course, that's not the end of it. No, that would be far too straightforward.

The Planetary Defence Centre will need reformatting so you will need to defend the reformatting device as it makes its way from the QForce base to the Defence Centre. Upon arrival, it will need protection from an onslaught of Grungarian foes while it does its job.
10. When a weapon reaches V3, it doesn't get a name change. Instead, which word gets prefixed to the weapon name?

Answer: Alpha

V3 isn't the final level a weapon can reach; continued use will allow it to get to V5. Because weapons aren't purchased in this game and there is no Challenge Mode, you won't be able to obtain "mega" versions of your weapons once they reach max level like in previous games. V5 Alpha weapons are the most powerful you can get, but they pack enough punch to be able to fell the mightiest and most armoured of foes.
