Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. After collecting all the treasures in an episode, Murray will have repaired the hideout's arcade game. Which of these is not one you'll be playing?

Answer: My Blaster Runs Hot

System Cracker will see you controlling a tank-like vehicle through a course filled with obstacles like firewalls and other enemies. At some points, you will be able to change your vehicle to one of the others, each with its own unique ability and firepower.

Alter Ego features a jetpack-wearing avatar of Bentley as you navigate a moving course, shooting away enemies and collecting ionic bits to level up and gain stronger firepower. At the end is the CPU to destroy, which resembles an eye and can shoot a powerful laser.

Spark Runner is fairly straightforward. You control a ball and need to steer it through a course to reach the end. The catch? You use the motion sensors in your controller and tilt it to move the ball. Static bumpers and a lack of guardrails can make this a bit of a tricky game to beat. You're also on a time limit, and picking up clocks scattered through the course will add mere seconds to your remaining time.

My Blaster Runs Hot is the name of an arcade game starring Captain Qwark, which features in "Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time".
2. In the prologue, what item does Sly steal from the Parisian museum?

Answer: Dagger

It's business as usual for the Cooper gang as Sly travels nimbly from one rooftop to another to reach the museum. Meanwhile, in the sewers below the city, Bentley gets to work unlocking the museum's gates for Murray. With the way open, Murray puts his muscles to good use and fights his way through rat henchmen to break the junction boxes powering the museum's security system. Bentley then shuts down the security, giving Sly the all-clear to abseil down into the museum and snap up the dagger.

Bentley's time machine functions by identifying the era that an object placed in its scanner comes from. The dagger comes from Feudal Japan in 1603 and thus the gang are whisked away to the past in their trusty van.
3. What is Rioichi Cooper's signature technique?

Answer: Leaping Dragon

Rioichi makes good use of his Leaping Dragon technique when he breaks into his own locked-down sushi restaurant to reclaim it from El Jefe and his thugs. Rioichi focuses his energy and performs a leap from one spire to another much further away. This move also comes in handy when the gang infiltrate the Geisha House and El Jefe's fortress.
4. Cotton Mouth Bluff is the name of the overworld in which episode?

Answer: Go West, Young Raccoon

At the end of the previous episode, after defeating El Jefe, Sly picks up a sheriff's badge. The gang use this to travel back to 1884 to Cotton Mouth Bluff, where they team up with Tennessee "Kid" Cooper and fight back against Sheriff Toothpick. Carmelita (reluctantly) joins the gang too after Tennessee rescues her from a runaway carriage packed with explosives.

Sly's gains his newest outfit, the jailbird costume, after his brief incarceration at Saddle Sore Correctional Facility. This gives him a heavy ball weight with which he can whack enemies and certain objects, as well as stand on it and use it to roll over laser grids and other defences.
5. What potentially very useful item is hidden away inside the safe in Gungathal Valley and obtained when all thirty bottles have been collected?

Answer: Clockwerk's Eye

Once the gang have Clockwerk's Eye in their possession, the locations of bottles in other eras will be indicated on the binocucom's map.

The Guru's Staff Piece, obtained from the safe in Ancient Arabia, halves the damage taken by members of the gang.

Sir Raleigh's Frog Hat is found in Medieval England and protects against damage taken by jumping or falling into water.

Muggshot's Coin is the reward in the Cotton Mouth Bluff safe and confers the ability to gain double the amount of coins when stealing from a guard, defeating a guard or whacking an object.

Feudal Japan's safe holds Coopergiwa's Gold Magnet, which pretty much does what it says on the tin: it attracts nearby stray coins.
6. Which of these enemies is not one that you'll find patrolling the paths and rooftops of Medieval England?

Answer: Jackalope

The mace-hefting hedgehogs and crossbow-wielding owls tend to stick to the rooftops and village battlements, while the much tougher mechanical wolves, equipped with a sword and firearm, wander the streets, keeping an eye out for any member of the Cooper gang unlucky enough to alert them.

Jackalopes are found in Cotton Mouth Bluff (ie, Go West, Young Raccoon). If one of the gang should be spotted by a jackalope on patrol, it will begin chucking sticks of dynamite.
7. In the Medieval England job Hard Target, what item is Sly competing to win in the archery minigame?

Answer: Magic powder

With Sir Galleth off in search of fire bulbs, Sly is tasked with procuring some of Merlin's Magic Powder from the archery tent next to the circus big top. Dressed in his archer costume, Sly needs 120 points by shooting stationary and moving targets with his arrows. A trophy is awarded for completing the challenge without shooting one of the many "friendly" targets that periodically pop up.

When the gang have the bulbs and the powder, they're able to make some explosives that will lower the castle's drawbridge and allow them to confront the Black Knight in the next job, Operation: Mousetrap.
8. What special ability does the thief costume give Sly when worn?

Answer: Sly can slow down time temporarily

The ability to slow time (powered by the gadget meter) allows Sly to safely clamber up delicate, easy-to-break chains and poles guarded by fast-moving snakes. It also comes in handy when obtaining certain pieces of treasure that are protected by doors on timers.

With the thief costume, Sly also gains the ability to swing a huge, heavy sword, cutting through certain pieces of machinery like a hot knife through butter.
9. What is Le Paradox's first name?

Answer: Cyrille

Cyrille Le Paradox's hatred of the Cooper clan stretches far back to when his father was alive. His father planned to frame Sly's father for the theft of a precious jewel, but when Sly's father stole it first, Le Paradox's father was instead blamed for the crime.

Fueled by a desire to wipe out the Cooper name from history and have the Le Paradox line known as the greatest thieves, Le Paradox creates a time machine and a plan to make a fake royal identity for himself in the present (by having his henchmen travel back in time and do the necessary work for him), thereby making him both world famous and effectively above the law. He also has the canes of various Cooper clansmen stolen in an effort to bring about their end.

Alas, Le Paradox is defeated by Sly aboard his time-travelling dirigible in present day Paris and is sent to prison again.
10. Collecting how many masks will allow Sly to wield Cole MacGrath's Amp from "Infamous 2" instead of his signature cane?

Answer: Sixty

Be sure to keep an eye out for the masks hidden all over the game. Some can be found in the overworld, while others are found in specific jobs and even in each era's arcade game.

At fifty masks collected, Sly has the option of wielding the wrench belonging to Ratchet (of "Ratchet & Clank" fame, of course). Coins obtained with the wrench equipped will instead turn into bolts (the currency of the "Ratchet" games).

Rounding up the final ten masks will bring your total to sixty and unlock the Amp. As you'd expect, the Amp will stun enemies when attacking, but doesn't deal any more damage than the cane would normally.

Whacking any enemy with either of these secret weapons equipped will get you the Hero Tech trophy.
