Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which is the correct order in arranging the races in order of Quality of Equipment, from worst to best?

Answer: Maloq, Peleng, Human, Faeyan, Gaalian

The quality of equipment affects how often or how quickly the piece breaks down. Of course, high quality equipment costs much more, and will therefore be very costly to repair when it DOES eventually break down. Maloq equipment is extremely cheap compared to Gaalian equipment, but a Maloq hull is a good purchase since hulls don't really need repairs anyway (unless you've got no Droid to do repairs for you).
2. Which first-level (RED) micronodule increases engine speed by 140 points?

Answer: Jake

Install this on a good engine, and you'll be flying faster than anything in the galaxy, of course, until the NEXT engine upgrade comes out of the R&D departments! I personally prefer increasing Jump Range rather than speed, seeing as a top-tech engine upgraded at a science base is usually fast enough. It completely depends on your choice of playing strategy.
3. What is easily the most common thing to fall out of dominators when they're wounded in battle?

Answer: Nodes

Nodes, of course, are most common. This is a bit of a trick question, since in later parts of the game, you'll be seeing a ton of other gear fall from enemy spacecraft. However, when WOUNDED, a dominator will almost never drop his gear, only when he is finally exploding. If you love trading your ship's equipment very often, you'll be wanting to get as many nodes as possible, to put various low-level Micronodule upgrades on all your newly acquired stuff. Personally I always try getting first-level micronodules, but that can take a long time of meticulously gathering up nodes and nodes and more nodes.
4. What is the name of a logical game that the Faeyans hold championships over?

Answer: Elus

Elus is a very strange game, and unfortunately it is not always possible to avoid guesses by applying logic. Fortunately, if you understand the game, you'll make one at the most, letting you win easily. Thankfully, even if you take second place or tie in for first place, you're still considered the winner of the championship. Phew!
5. In the Peleng language, what is "Lyakusha"?

Answer: Pirate

The Lyakusha are the Peleng pirates, brigands, and generally bad spacefarers. While the other races appreciate it when you shoot down pirates, even pirates of their own race, the Peleng will frown upon any such attack on even their most wanted outlaws. Lyakusha pirates are rarely tough to beat by a well-equipped pirate hunter, but the damage a Lyakusha can do to local freight shipping if he goes unstopped is gruesome.
6. The leader of which Dominator faction hides in Hyperspace?

Answer: Keller

The Kelleroid leader is a big, tetraederical form (like a 4-sided die), which normally resides in hyperspace, but can occasionally be spotted attacking council-controlled systems! You cannot defeat Keller physically, he'll keep coming back. You must find some other way...
7. Which commodity normally buys and sells for the highest price?

Answer: Drugs

Drugs can sell for staggering prices. Of course, the downside is that they are outlawed on most planets, so you've got to know where and when to sell them. Don't keep them in your possession too long, or you'll notice that many planets will develop bad relations with you, on account of drug smuggling.
8. Which weapon emits a destructive blast around the ship, damaging everything within range?

Answer: Multi-Resonator

The Multi-Resonator is the favourite weapon of the larger Dominator ships, and it is a pain in the butt whenever they use it. This is because when they fire it, it will not only hurt your ship but also destroy any nodes and equipment that have fallen off them, or off other Dominators you've destroyed in the previous turn.

However in YOUR hands, it is EXTREMELY useful for taking out those massive groups of fighters they send at you sometimes - as long as you can survive having all those fighters inside weapons range until you struggle to destroy them all with the Resonator.
9. Which is the option that does not belong?

Answer: Bolide

"Gravicore", "Polymorph" and "Chrobyte" are all possible strengths of the hull, while "Bolide" is a kind of repair droid.
A Chrobyte hull and can block 9 points of damage per hit, before upgrades.
Bolide droids can repair large quantities of damage every gameturn, I believe 30 points of hull damage before upgrade.
10. Which planetary battle robot's module allows it to cause enemy robots to miss half their attacks?

Answer: Firewall

Firewall equipment causes the weapons of other robots to miss about 50% of the time. Of course, the fired weapons might still hit another of your robots that was just next to the Firewaller, but that's just bad luck (or bad tactics). The Locator module seems to be a good counter for Firewall Bots.
