Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This location on the RPD map will contain a Licker if you're Claire, but not if you're Leon. Which spot is it?

Answer: Observation Room

The Observation Room, found in the east wing of the RPD Building, overlooks the Interrogation Room on the opposite side of a one-way mirror. While one campaign will allow you to go inside and claim the belongings across the broken window (since you can only access one room with the Club Key and one with the Heart Key), the other will have the mirror intact, and you'll have to cross with the high likelihood of a Licker pouncing through from the other side.

This also happened in the original "Resident Evil 2" (N64) and could be quite shocking for the unprepared.
2. What colour jewel, coming from the Scepter, is used to open the Bejewelled Box?

Answer: Red

Part of a long chain of items, the Scepter is collected from the Art Room when you combine the arm of a statue with a Red Book. The statue will drop the Scepter, allowing you to examine it to reveal a Red Jewel. This Red Jewel can then be added to the top of a Bejewelled Box to open it and reveal a S.T.A.R.S. Badge that converts into a USB Dongle you can use on the terminal in the S.T.A.R.S. Office in the west wing of the RPD Building. With that you can claim the Magnum as Leon or the Submachine Gun as Claire. Flipping it back to badge form will allow you to claim a weapon modification beneath the building as well.
3. The Bishop, the Pawn, and the Knight versions of which of these are all found in the Monitor Room?

Answer: Plugs

There are six Plug items that factor into a puzzle that allows you to save Ada or Sherry from the Sewers' Garbage Room and all of them are tied to chess due to a city worker's obvious fascination with the game. While three of the Plugs will be found in the appropriate (or not) power boxes in the Monitor Room, you'll need to go on the hunt for the King Plug, the Queen Plug, and the Rook Plug, two of which will be at the end of the Bottom Waterway in the Supplies Storage Room and one of which (the Rook) will be in a fairly obvious hallway on the upper level.
4. As per their item in game, the pouches that allow you to increase inventory size attach to what part of the body?

Answer: Hip

There are six Hip Pouches found throughout both Leon and Claire's campaign, all of which expand their inventory space by two slots. I know what you're thinking-- in the original game, there were wild restrictions on inventory space, but that was purposeful. Part of the appeal of early "Resident Evil" games was being forced to be resourceful. That still exists in this, but the further along in the game you go, the more complicated your puzzles are going to be.

By the end of the game, with six Hip Pouches, you should have twenty inventory slots.
5. If you're playing as Claire, what will result when you combine Gunpowder and High-Grade Gunpowder (White)?

Answer: Acid Rounds

Both Leon and Claire can combine found Gunpowder (in regular and large quantities) and High-Grade Gunpowder to great effect. In both cases, combining two normal Gunpowders will make 9mm Handgun Ammo. For Leon, Gunpowder and High-Grade will result in Shotgun Rounds while Claire can make Acid Rounds for her Grenade Launcher.

As for doubling up on High-Grade Gunpowder, Leon can make Magnum Rounds while Claire makes Submachine Gun Ammo. Ah the joys of just being able to make bullets, am I right?
6. Which Herb combination is used to cure the G-Virus?

Answer: None of these

If only it were so easy, eh? While Herbs are important curatives in the "Resident Evil" world, it would be a bit silly to expect them to have game-changing healing capabilities along the lines of "solving the plot". That said, Green Herbs are obvious restoratives for health; Red Herbs are used to enhance existing Herb capabilities (ie. when combined with a Green Herb is increases health restoration); Blue Herbs cure poison.

When combined, the herbs can stack their abilities and provide extra physical protection form harsher attacks. You can combine, at the maximum, three Herbs.
7. What is the name of William Birkin's wife?

Answer: Annette

Annette Birkin doesn't make an appearance in the game until after you descend into the Sewers but she is a very important player in the events that occur beneath Raccoon City. Along with her husband William she and the team in the NEST created the G-Virus, and it's because of this that she holds herself a fair bit responsible for the events that have transpired.

In Leon's campaign she'll fight to destroy the G-Virus Sample, even going so far as to shoot Ada near the end of the game. In Claire's campaign, Annette will reunite with Sherry one last time, but that ends in tragedy as well.
8. What item comes in a regular version and in a Flash version?

Answer: Grenade

Leon and Claire don't need to rely entirely on their main firearms to get through this nightmare. In addition to guns and projectiles, the pair can also locate Combat Knives, Grenades, and Flash Grenades, all of which can be used if they equip them and happen to get into a particularly dicey bind. With a proper prompt, one of these secondary items can be utilized for a swift escape (potentially even blocking damage or poison).

They can also use these on a whim if need-be, tossing the proper grenade or swinging out with the knife in close combat. Flash Grenades are particularly useful against Lickers, who struggle with the light.
9. Which area of the Laboratory contains Plant 43?

Answer: East

There are only three Areas on the Laboratory map-- North, where you enter from the cable car; East, containing the Greenhouse and Plant 43; West, containing the G-Virus dedicated lab. Plant 43 is likely the last thing in the way before you head into the actual final stretch of the game (ie. the final boss battle(s), and to overcome it you'll need to...well...kill it.

But obviously a plant infected with the G-Virus isn't the same as a Zombie. Instead you'll need to create a Herbicide that can be dispersed in the Greenhouse so that you can claim your Upgrade Chip for your ID Wristband and get out.
10. If you take the first letter of the previous nine answers, you'll be able to spell the name of what map location only encountered in Claire's story?

Answer: ORPHANAGE

While Leon gallivants with Ada (until he's shot) down in the Sewer Entrance (who am I kidding-- he faces off against a giant aligator in the Raccoon City Sewer), Claire busies herself rushing to the Orphanage to save Sherry Birkin who's kidnapped by the Chief of Police and locked away for the time being.

Sherry, resourceful as she is, will break out of her room and commence a terrifying game of hide and seek with the police chief, but not before her father, mutated by the G-Virus, will arrive to deal with the lawman. Claire will arrive at the Orphanage in the aftermath and find Sherry in the tunnels below before they descend into the Sewers as well.
