Answer: Gas station

Whether you start the game as Leon or Claire, the prologue will bring you to a quiet gas station on the way into Raccoon City. Since the events of "Resident Evil (1)" have already occurred a short time earlier, it quickly becomes apparent that the people of Raccoon City aren't well. If either character enters the station (as they should), they'll find the place a mess and their investigation into the storage room will lead to the discovery of zombies. Whichever character you play as, the opposite will arrive to rescue you before you both head into Raccoon City...and wreck your car.

Answer: Bear Medallion

Both Leon and Claire, crashing their vehicle in Raccoon City and being forced to navigate on foot, will have to rush separately to the Raccoon City Police Department and to (relative) safety. Neither will really find what they're looking for; the place is crawling with the undead. Starting with a trip to the East Wing, the player will eventually run into Marvin Branagh, one of the last surviving members of the RPD, who will hide out in the main lobby for the duration of the first trip around the building.

There will be a way out of the RPD, but not until you find three medallions to unlock a secret passage under the building. And that's tougher than it sounds.

Answer: Flash Grenades

The first Licker you'll encounter in the flesh will be on the top floor of the RPD building in front of the S.T.A.R.S. office and while it'll be horrifying, you actually don't need to engage with it. Lickers are fearsome foes, but they're generally only responsive to sound; you can usually walk around an unprovoked Licker and it won't react to you.

This is about the point in the first run-around of the RPD Building where you should feel pretty well ready to leave. To do that, you'll need to blast your way to the remaining Emblems and open the pathway beneath the lobby's Goddess Statue. You'll find a small, hidden office and an elevator heading down.

Answer: Sherry Birkin

Once you access the space beneath the RPD lobby's Main Hall, you'll start your escape from the building in earnest and find that it's a bit more complicated than it seems. The first obstacle is found in the machinery room supporting the building. There, William Birkin will appear for his first fight. Once you defend yourself from him (with gunshots, generally) you'll be given a bit of a hand by either Ada Wong (if you're Leon) or young Sherry Birkin (if you're Claire) who will lower a ladder and allow you to proceed deeper.

This character, depending on who you're playing, will help shape the game's narrative in unique ways.

Answer: Dog

The Parking Garage seems like it would be an easy way out of the RPD Building, but it (along with everything else in Raccoon City) is more puzzling than it lets on. Not only will the only real option be locked into a jail cell, but the Parking Garage will also be the location of the police kennel...and with that you should anticipate some zombified canines waiting for a meal. What all of this means is a complicated and mad dash for the Diamond Key, located within the basement rooms, and a return to the overwhelmed RPD halls to get the pieces you need to solve the puzzles respective to Leon and Claire.

Answer: Clock Tower

Even if you've left the RPD you're going to need to head back into the building at least once since the Parking Garage isn't really escapable without getting a Parking Pass to open the gate blocking street access. In Leon's case, this means nabbing the pass from a man trapped in a jail cell while in Claire's case, it means heading to Chief Irons Office to get a similar pass.

In either instance, you need to claim two Power Panel Parts from in the building. Both Leon and Claire will get one by using their keys to access the Clock Tower, but the other part will be in a different spot depending on the character. Either way, you'll need to maneuver around Mr. X as he stalks the halls of the building.

Answer: He'll get shot

Getting the Parking Pass will be a turning point for both playable characters. In Claire's case, she'll receive a call from Chief Irons who's taken Sherry to the nearby Orphanage to complete a transaction. Sherry will fight back and get unexpected help from her father before Claire shows up and the duo descend (dangerously) into the Sewers. Leon, meanwhile, will need to escape the Jail beneath the RPD Building, head through the nearby Gun Shop, and follow Ada into the Sewer Entrance.

He'll end up facing off against a giant alligator before getting delayed (in his journey) by a gunshot. Ada will leave him to rest while she explores the Sewers solo, at least until she's incapacitated.

Answer: Cable car

Both Claire and Leon will awaken with their respective side-characters trapped in the Garbage Room beneath the city streets, and what will result is a quest through the dank and dirty sewer passages searching for the plugs they need to open the doors to the unconventional prison space.

When those doors do open there will be another face-off against the Tyrant du jour in a crane game before Ada will join Leon/Sherry will join Claire with the ID Wristband (Visitor classification). In both cases, they'll take the cable car down to the labs to put an end to this once and for all.

Answer: NEST

What Leon and Claire will find when they attempt to enter and search the NEST Laboratory solo is that the place is, likewise, infected with all manner of awful G-Virus spawn. In addition to Zombies and Lickers, new Ivy Zombies, created from Plant 43 in the Greenhouse, will emerge to attack. What both will discover as they circle their way to the West Area of the map and the most sealed-off section of the lab is that Doctor Birkin attempted to save his life's work-- the G-Virus, before Special Ops came in to take it, and him.

Unfortunately, they sealed their fate when they left him to die...and he used it to save himself. Leon will find the G-Virus Sample and Claire will find the antiviral for Sherry, but that's the beginning of the end of the nightmare.

Answer: False

Though Annette will come to help, nothing will stop a fight against William Birkin in his third G-form in the Bioreactor Room, but barring failure, you'll be able to escape and conclude the story with a mad dash through the bottom level of the NEST laboratory and one more battle on either the ascent to the train out of the Raccoon City underground or the Train Turntable.
It's more complicated than one would hope. Even with Birkin temporarily incapacitated in Leon's story, Mr. X, the true Tyrant, will reemerge and take on his final form as the Super Tyrant. You'll need to use a well-timed Rocket Launcher to put an end to him and get on the train to make your escape. In Claire's story, however, she'll face off against Birkin yet another time-- this time in his fourth G-form-- before boarding the train.

And even then-- is the nightmare really over?
