Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When you arrive at the Sand Kingdom for the first time it will have which weird trait?

Answer: It will be colder than usual

The Sand Kingdom is situated in a vast desert environment, so for the area to be cold and loaded with large blocks of ice throughout is a bit of a weird situation. Many of the easier-to-get Power Moons make use of the environment's existing infrastructure though some can't be attempted at all until the ice is melted, and to do that you need to progress through the main objectives for the stage.
2. Tostarena Town is inspired by which of these cultures?

Answer: Mexican

Much of the aesthetic found in the architecture and fashions in Tostarena are meant to evoke Mexican designs. The Tostarenan people are actually depicted as skeletons, often with maracas, who dance and celebrate much like figures seen during the Mexican Day of the Dead.

The Tostarenans will have some insight into the goings-on in the Sand Kingdom, particularly regarding Bowser's recent stop in the area, and will do everything they can to help Mario while maintaining their festivities.
3. The first Power Star Mario is directed to collect is atop which of these?

Answer: The ruins

The first Power Star-- 'Atop the Highest Tower', is fairly straightforward since all it requires is that you travel through Tostarena to the ruins and then navigate your way via 3D and 2D environments to reach the top. The Power Moon is just waiting up there.

The catch is that there will also be a number of enemies in the way, notably Bullet Bills and Goombas. Tostarena Ruins is also home to a number of hidden passages and mysteries beneath the quicksand, so anyone digging deeper is likely to come across something.
4. The 'Moon Shards in the Sand' objective allows you to meet which of these odd creatures?

Answer: Mo-Eyes

The Mo-Eyes are shaped like walking Moai statues and if you follow the platforms across the desert from the top of the Tostarena Ruins tower, you'll get to them with little effort to collect a Power Moon. The great thing is that these creatures are usable; you can take over them with Cappy.

Their powers? Although they're slow to move and unable to jump too high, their eyes allow them to see that which Mario can not, specifically invisible blocks.
5. Which Broodal is found atop the Inverted Pyramid?

Answer: Hariet

The third major objective of the Sand Kingdom requires you make your way into and then atop the Inverted Pyramid, perhaps the most glaring landmark of the area because of how large and ornate it is. Once the Mo-Eyes are dealt with, the Inverted Pyramid open, allowing entry. Atop the pyramid there will be a battle against Hariet, one of the Broodals, and defeating her and her spiked ball will net a bundle of Power Moons and open things up just a bit more in the region.
6. What will occur after the battle atop the Inverted Pyramid?

Answer: It will raise from the ground

When Hariet is defeated, Mario will be whisked back to the Odyssey in time to see the Inverted Pyramid almost supernaturally raise from its spot in the dunes, creating a large hole that you can jump into and explore. The dungeon beneath the pyramid is chilling as a counterpoint to the desert on the surface and it should give a bit of insight into what's causing the region to be iced over.

At the end of the tunnel system there, you can face off against the region's biggest boss, Knucklotec, whose own fists can be used against him with the help of Cappy's powers. Completing this mission brings the desert back to normal.
7. In the Sand Kingdom, Mario can ride what creatures to navigate the area at a faster speed?

Answer: Jaxi

Jaxis can be found at different stations around the Sand Kingdom, but Mario can't hire them for use until after the Inverted Pyramid is raised (they cost thirty coins). Jaxis are useful in charging around the map, but their handling can be a bit unwieldy. That said, they're a necessity if you plan to cross some of the more dangerous poisonous areas to access hidden tunnels and they have the ability to charge through certain obstacles. Most interestingly, their appearances allow them to blend in with certain architectural features to unlock new Power Moons.
8. Which of these outfits can Mario purchase from the Crazy Cap shop?

Answer: Cowboy Suit

Although this Kingdom's most typical garb will likely be the poncho and sombrero combo (as it rightfully should be, taking nods from the area's obvious Mexican influence, the more expensive outfit to be claimed here is a cowboy hat and rancher garb. Both of these outfits (along with Odyssey customizables/collectables can be purchased from the Crazy Cap shop right at the front of Tostarena Town.

The poncho and sombrero in particular are useful for claiming Power Moons in Tostarena proper.
9. What shape are the purple coins found in this kingdom?

Answer: Triangle

All areas feature Purple Coins that can be used to purchase items at Crazy Cap shops and while regular coins are plentiful and widely used in the game, Purple Coins are specifically used in their respective kingdoms. In the Sand Kingdom, these coins (one hundred in all) can be found throughout the map.

They're shaped like the region's distinct Inverted Pyramid. Many of these are hidden throughout the level (occasionally off its edges and sometimes in dungeons), often in groups.
10. How many Power Moons can be collected in the Sand Kingdom?

Answer: Ninety-three

Although you can only collect around sixty of these on the first go-around of the Sand Kingdom (at the most), some of them can be collected upon first completion of the game or by accessing spots in other Kingdoms to bring you back around. The catch is that not all of them are required to progress. Completing the main objectives of the area will get Mario most-way to powering up the Odyssey, but you don't even need to do that thanks to the abundance in the region. Sixteen are needed to power the Odyssey up enough to progress.
