Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In Kero Sewers, there is an evil treasure chest called Pandorite. What accessory will you receive if you defeat it?

Answer: Trueform Pin

In the deep, damp tunnels of Kero Sewers, you can find the Pandorite floating in the air like one of many chests throughout the game. When you jump up and hit it, a battle begins. Like Mack, Pandorite has the Flame Wall attack which will hit both Mario and Mallow without a chance of blocking. Pandorite also has the Carni-Kiss attack which will take a fair bit of health from one of your characters, and the Flame attack which will throw a fireball at one of your characters.

When you're finished, not only will you get a Flower Jar to boost your Flower Points, but you'll receive the Trueform Pin which will prevent its wearer from being turned into a scarecrow.
2. What is the name of the boss that you must defeat in the depths of Kero Sewers?

Answer: Belome

As soon as you drain the water in the sewers, you can make your way to Belome. As soon as you investigate what he is, he'll start the battle. Belome's primary attack is with his tongue, and it's pretty easy to defend against. Other than this, Belome can use the S'Crow Funk attack which will turn either Mario or Mallow into a scarecrow (unless you equipped that Trueform Pin from Pandorite).

When you're a scarecrow, you lose your primary attacks, so that means you're stuck with items or defense, or you can use Flower Points. What's worse? Belome may decide to eat one of your party members for a brief time leaving the other to fight alone.

After a while, the other will be spit out unscathed. When the battle is over, the sewers flood.
3. How many Flowers can you get from the Midas River course?

Answer: Two

Once the water flushes you out of the sewers, you'll wind up drifting down Midas River. This course can potentially earn you coins, Frog Coins, and Flowers if you follow a good track. After the first part, Mario will begin the barrel jumping portion of the course where he can earn more coins.

At the end, an attendant will take your coins and hold onto them if you don't have enough for a Frog Coin. Once you earn sixty coins in total from the course, you'll get a Frog Coin. When you complete the course for the first time, you'll get Mario's new weapon, the NokNok Shell.

After this, you can always come back and play the course again.
4. What does Frogfucious give to you in return for the Cricket Pie?

Answer: Froggie Stick

After leaving Midas River, you come across Tadpole Pond; Mallow's home. After a brief introduction from Frogfucious, Mario and Mallow are told the situation with Bowser and Princess Toadstool, and Frogfucious decides to tell Mallow that he's not really a tadpole.

After a sad and depressing tale about how Mallow was found floating down the falls, Frogfucious can be cheered back up with the Cricket Pie. After this, you can visit Melody Bay, the Card Member Shop, and the Frog Emporium to your heart's content! When you're done, head east to Rose Way.
5. The Card Holder's Shop in Tadpole Pond has a card membership service which will allow you to purchase different items. As soon as you arrive for the first time, you have a chance to get your first membership card. What is the name of this level of membership?

Answer: Alto Card

By playing the first melody for Toadofsky in Melody Bay, you will receive the Alto Card, the first of three membership cards in the game. With this card, you can buy FroggieDrink and Elixir for a somewhat low price. Both of these items will refill the HP of all of your party members.

As you progress through the game, two more songs will be available, and two more cards will be available from Toadofsky. After this, you can make your way through the swamps of Rose Way by crossing the yellow platforms and such.

At the end, you can find Bowser getting ready with his troops. Now to find Princess Toadstool...
6. When you arrive at the Rose Town Inn for the first time, a small Toad will be playing with his dolls. What is her name?

Answer: Gaz

After talking a bit, you'll be forced to play with Gaz's dolls and he'll accidentally shoot his doll, Geno's Shooting Star attack and knock Mario out. While they take Mario upstairs, a weird sparkly light will bring Geno to life, and he leaves the inn.
7. In Rose Town, things are looking pretty grim. What's happening to the people that are struck by falling arrows?

Answer: They freeze

Ever since a shooting star fell into the nearby forest, Rose Town has been pummeled with arrows. This is causing people to simply paralyze outside their homes. If you're lucky (or unlucky I guess), Mario can also get hit with an arrow, but he won't stay paralyzed forever.

After talking to Gaz, head to the Forest Maze to the north and follow the winding paths and trails to the end. Along the way, you can pick up wild Mushrooms, but watch for enemies called Amanitas which may be pretending to be a helpful item!
8. What is the name of the boss of the Forest Maze?

Answer: Bowyer

After chasing Geno through the true maze of the forest, you'll come across Bowyer, the one responsible for the arrows in Rose Town. When you start the battle, Bowyer will place an X, Y, and A button on the ground. If he shoots an arrow into one, that button can't be used for a certain time.

Other than his normal arrow moves, his special attacks include: Static E! which will damage everyone in the party, Lightning Orb which will do minor damage to one character, G'Night which will put one party member to sleep, and Bolt which attacks one character with a large amount of damage. After Bowyer is defeated, Geno will give you the story behind the stars, he'll join the party, and you'll obtain your second star.
9. The Pipe Vault is an optional level in the game. What enemy can not be found here?

Answer: Sky Troopa

The Pipe Vault is an extremely easy level with no traps, quite simple enemies, and a simple, fun game involving Goombas and Spikeys. You can find this game in one of the pipes in the vault, and it's run by a Mole from the next area of the game. To get points, jump on the different Goombas which pop in and out of pipes, but be sure not to hit the Spikeys.

At the end of the vault, you'll find the mysterious Yo'ster Isle!
10. How many Yoshi Cookies do you get for beating Boshi on Yo'ster Isle?

Answer: Three

Yo'ster Isle is the home of the Mushroom Derby, so Yoshis spend the day frolicking and racing around. Saddle up onto Yoshi and talk to the others. If you talk to one of the red ones, they'll give you Yoshi cookies for a race against the Blue Yoshi, Boshi. During the race, hit the A and B buttons alternatively during the rhythm of the song to make Yoshi move. You can also use the cookies to move faster for a brief time by pressing the Y button. If you win the race, you get some Yoshi Cookies, and the Yoshis will live without a boss.
