Answer: Toad

Toad is the first supporting character that you actually meet in the game. In the very beginning, he will arrive to pick up Princess Toadstool, but of course, Bowser takes her and everyone is thrown across the lands by the evil Exor. Toad will lead the way to Mushroom Kingdom and we can help him out for a few beneficial items along the way.

At the end of Mushroom Way, Toad will be held hostage by the Hammer Bros. and when they are defeated, Toad will give you their hammer. Toad will remain in Mushroom Kingdom through the rest of the game, but he will venture into the Factory to give Mario and the party a helping hand at the very end.

Answer: Map

The map really doesn't have much of a use in the game since it will only tell you your current position. To access the map, press the X-button and you can find it in the menu. The Chancellor can be found in Princess Toadstool's castle in Mushroom Kingdom.

When you return to the kingdom for the second time and it is overrun by Mack and his Shysters on pogo sticks, the Chancellor will be hiding in the corner of the throne room quivering in fear. After you defeat Mack and claim the star, you can talk to him and the kingdom will return to normal.

The Cricket Jam is found in a hole in Land's End, but really, it's technically located in Kero Sewers. If you chose the option where no coins are given, you may have confused Cricket Jam with Cricket Pie. The Cricket Pie was the reason that Mario and Mallow first met. Mallow originally went to Mushroom Kingdom to get Cricket Pie, but his Frog Coin was stolen by Croco.

When you return the Cricket Pie to Frogfucius after he tells the story about Mallow not being a tadpole, Tadpole Pond will be cheerful once again and you'll have Mallow's first equippable weapon, the FroggieStick.

Answer: Melody Bay

Toadofsky is the world-famous composer who lives in Melody Bay. Over the course of the game, you can play three different songs for this minor character and he will create a grand piece of musical work. After each third that you give to him, he will give you a membership card for Tadpole Pond's local Membership bar. To play the different songs, you'll need to jump on tadpoles as they move up and down a musical scale in the water. One portion of the song is from Tadpole Pond, so you can play it on your first visit.

The second is from Moleville Mines and it will be partially unfinished, and the third song is in Monstro Town. You need to figure that one out for yourself since no notes are given.

Answer: Gaz

Gaz will be the one to introduce you to Geno although Geno isn't quite alive at the time. When you first arrive in Rose Town, everything will be in chaos, because after all, Bowyer's arrows are paralyzing people. When you play with Gaz for a bit, she'll bring out her Geno doll and shoot you by accident. You'll be knocked out and taken to a bed upstairs.

While this is happening, a spirit comes down from the heavens and goes into the Geno doll. When you meet Geno in the Forest Maze, he becomes a member of your party.

Answer: Boshi

To get to Yo'ster Isle, you need to travel through the optional Pipe Vault level. Once there, you won't understand the different dinosaurs, but if you saddle up onto Yoshi's back, he will translate for you. If you talk to the red dinosaur near the Pipe Vault entrance, he will give you three Yoshi Cookies for a race.

After this, talk to Boshi, the blue dinosaur with the sunglasses, and you can battle in a one on one race. Toad will give the basics to racing, and if you win, everyone will get to compete in the Mushroom Derby. Plus, you'll get to keep some Yoshi Cookies.

Answer: Dyna

Before you arrive in Moleville, the Mines will cave in and with the help of the moles, you'll need to climb inside. Once inside you'll need to battle Croco for a Bambino Bomb and then Punchinello for the third star. After this, you'll find Dyna and Mite and take them on a mine cart ride through the Mines.

When you emerge, you'll crash the cart right through the roof of Dyna and Mite's house. After this, you'll be introduced to the Snifits.

Answer: Three

You first meet these Snifits as they try and chase a beetle through Moleville. When you arrive at Booster Tower, you'll have a chance to fight these three Snifits on your trip to the top of the building. One will be in the main lobby and the other two will be on other floors. Booster will be watching your progress as you head up the tower as well, and when you get to the top, you'll find Princess Toadstool.

After a small game, Booster will head off to Marrymore to marry Princess Toadstool, and you'll need to chase him up Booster Hill. Along the way, the Snifits will be chasing you as well. If you hit a switch inside Booster's Tower, you'll open up a part of Booster Pass where you'll find another Snifit training to become one of Booster's accomplices. If you defeat him (which really shouldn't be too hard), nothing happens.

Answer: Raini

When Booster arrives in Marrymore with Princess Toadstool, he and the Snifits will kick Raz and Raini out of their own wedding ceremony. Whenever you visit Marrymore after this, the two will still be having their wedding. Some of their wedding guests will be quite humorous if you talk to them. In Marrymore, Mario can also get into someone's wedding photos.

Answer: Blue Bandanas

Johnny is the captain of the Sunken Ship and in order to obtain the fifth star, you need to head into the sea and navigate the belly of the ship. Along the way, you'll need to fight King Calimari, but the real challenge is Johnny. If you're lucky (or maybe not), Johnny will decide to go in a one-on-one battle against Mario rather than have his crew fight alongside him. About halfway through the battle, Johnny will also power himself up.

After the battle, Johnny will kindly give Mario the star, and when you return it to Seaside Town, it will be taken by Yaridovich. Johnny will decide to help you since you rightfully earned the star, and he will prevent Yaridovich from escaping. Of course, this will trigger another boss battle.

Answer: The elder of Seaside Town

When you first visit Seaside Town, you won't actually get to visit the Elder. Instead, you'll get to meet the Elder impersonator. After you get the star from Johnny in the Sunken Ship, the Elder will take it and reveal his true form, Yaridovich. Once you defeat him, you'll get a shed key and you'll be able to save the citizens of Seaside Town (including the real Elder).

The frog in the Elder's house will sell valuable items to you in exchange for Frog Coins.

In order to gain access to Bean Valley, you need to talk to Monstermama. To do this, you need to travel through both Land's End and Belome Temple in order to reach Monstro Town. When you arrive, Monstermama will introduce you to the Sky Troopas who will help you on the way.

In Monstermama's house, you can find the third and final piece of Toadofsky's masterpiece. All you need to do is figure out the notes.

Answer: Jinx

Jinx will be quite strong during the game regardless of what level your party members are. Some of his attacks to vast amounts of damage, so it's always good to have the Lazy Shells equipped during the battles. Jinx will battle you three times, and each time he will get progressively stronger. During the third battle, Jinx will have 1000 HP and your attacks will do barely anything. I suggest strong weapons, strong armor, and strong everything else.

Answer: Sky Troopas

In order to use the Sky Troopas' abilities, you'll need to speak to Monstermama in Monstro Town. When you arrive back at the cliff wall in Land's End, they'll be waiting to give you a ride up a weird course. At the top is the route to Bean Valley to the north. If you beat their course in under a certain time, you get a special accessory that will help greatly during battle.

Answer: Hinopio

Hinopio is a great example of a multi-tasker. He not only runs an item shop, but he'll also sell you weapons and he'll let you sleep in his make-shift inn. You may want to pick up some of the fire-style armor before fighting the Czar Dragon and the Axem Rangers. Hinopio's fire clothes will be one of the last armor upgrades of the game.
