Answer: World War II

In the game, the player has to literally go behind enemy lines and complete various objectives such as destroying buildings, rescuing allies and assassinating someone. There are six Commandos that the player can control. Each has unique abilities. The game consists of twenty missions.

Answer: Green Beret

The Green Beret is the fastest Commando around. The Spy has the ability to impersonate a German Officer (usually he has to steal the German uniform from a clothesline). The Driver has the ability to drive all kinds of vehicles.

The Marine is the water specialist. The Marine carries an Oxygen tank, an inflatable boat and a harpoon. The harpoon is a silent weapon unlike the pistol that can make the alarm go off if used.

Answer: A Dam

The dam in question is the Sysendam, which exists in real life. It is located in Eidfjord, Norway. It is one of Norway´s biggest stone-filled dams. The Relay Station has to be blown up in Mission 1, "Baptism by Fire". German Headquarters are destroyed in Mission 4, "Restore Pride" and the bridge is destroyed in Mission 18, "Force of Circumstance".

Answer: Gregor McRae

McRae is the fictional Royal Air Force pilot who got hit during a reconnaissance flight over German positions. Wilson appears in "Commandos 2: Men of Courage". Claude Gilbert was a fictional Allied informant who was held captive by the Germans twice, during Mission 12 and Mission 17. The Red Baron was the German Ace during WWI.
6. In Mission 15, "The End of the Butcher", the Commandos have to assassinate an important German figure. Who was this fictional person?

Answer: General Helmut Schleper

Schleper was fleeing from France to Berlin with a list of members of the German Resistance. The Commandos had to assassinate him before he could take that list to Berlin. Rommel was a real German Field Marshal during WWII who acquired the nickname: "Desert Fox". The other two appear in other "Commandos" games.

In real life, the V2 Rockets were the first man-made objects to achieve sub-orbital space flight. The V2 Rockets were developed by Army Research Center at Peenemünde, Germany. They were later manufactured by Mittlewerk, an underground factory in Germany. Shaheen is a Pakistani missile. DF-41 is a Chinese missile and J Missile belongs to Turkey.
9. Mission 20 is the last mission and the first to feature all 6 Commandos together. The Commandos have to destroy the German Headquarters and 2 V2 Rockets and then escape. What is the name of this mission?

Answer: Operation Valhalla

"Pyrotechnics" is Mission 8, "Menace of Leopold" is Mission 6 and "A Quiet Blow Up" is Mission 2. In Mission 2, the Commandos have to blow up 2 fuel depots and then escape in a truck. In Mission 6, a Cannon named Leopold has to be taken care of.
10. What is the cheat code that you can use if you are stuck during the game?

Answer: 1982Gonzo

During any mission, type 1982Gonzo and the cheat code will be activated. You can then use Ctrl+I to give you invincibility, Ctrl+Shift+N gives you victory in the current mission. Shift+X moves your Commando to the position your cursor is pointing to.
