Question 2 of 15
2. When the Scout gets bored of his default shotgun, he brings out his sawed-off double-barrel shotgun. This weapon has enough power behind each shot to send enemies flying backwards, or propel the Scout higher into the air as a sort of triple jump. Appropriately enough, what is this weapon called? Hint

Question 3 of 15
3. The Scout moves fast, jumps high, and hits hard, but it wasn't always that way. The Scout was quickened and hardened by growing up in a rough neighborhood in what city? Hint

Question 4 of 15
4. The default shotgun isn't such a good weapon at close range, and neither is the double-barrel. Incase he gets caught at long range, the Scout carries a fast-shooting Pistol with him. This Pistol is very handy for retreating or harassing Snipers, but just how many bullets can it hold in a clip? Hint

Question 5 of 15
5. Even sprinting experts like the Scout get thirsty! Sometimes, the Scout likes to leave his Pistol in the resupply room, and instead brings a nice, cold drink along with him. Of his two beverage choices, which is the one that grants the Scout temporary immunity to damage? Hint

Question 6 of 15
6. While one of his drinks may make the Scout invincible, he doesn't really like that he can't use his weapons while he's drinking it. Instead, sometimes he likes to chug his other favorite beverage, which makes his weapons a lot stronger. What is this drink called? Hint

Question 7 of 15

Question 8 of 15
8. Like hitting people with the Bat? Fun, isn't it? But what's even cooler is the Scout's Sandman. It's the Scout's prized bat, and despite being wooden, used, and held together by duct tape, there's one feature about the Sandman that makes it much more special than the regular Baseball Bat. What is this feature? Hint

Question 9 of 15
9. The Scout's legs aren't the only things that move fast. He likes to run his mouth a lot, too. Which of these would you hear a Scout say after batting a Heavy to death? Hint

Question 10 of 15
10. Being such a fast-moving class, it's common sense for the team to send the Scout after objectives, such as Control Points or the enemy intelligence. Which of these is NOT something that the Scout will holler when capturing the enemy's intelligence briefcase? Hint

Question 11 of 15
11. It's a known fact that the Scout loves his Achievements, because it's written proof of his talent! Which of these Achievements is NOT earned using the Sandman? Hint

However, there is one weapon that the Scout never has to use in order to earn all of his achievements. Is that weapon the Scout's invincibility drink?

Question 13 of 15
13. The Scout is a pretty young guy, so naturally, he has to keep himself looking good. That's where his hats come in! Although the Scout already has a default baseball cap on, there are also five other hats (and a 'hatless' item) that keep the Scout in style. Which of these is NOT one of them? Hint

Question 14 of 15
14. Aside from his five hats, the Scout is also one of the three classes to get a 'hatless' item. What name fills in that blank? Hint

Question 15 of 15
15. For an extended period of time, the Scout had a bug that would occur sometimes when he was double-jumping. It has since been patched, but what was this bug? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Scout's default primary weapon is a powerful shotgun that holds six shells at a time, and packs quite a punch. What is the correct name for this shotgun?

Answer: Scattergun

The Scout's default primary weapon is called the Scattergun. The Scattergun is undoubtedly the most powerful shotgun in the game, capable of disposing of most classes in two or three shots at point blank range. At longer range, however, it is not very useful.
2. When the Scout gets bored of his default shotgun, he brings out his sawed-off double-barrel shotgun. This weapon has enough power behind each shot to send enemies flying backwards, or propel the Scout higher into the air as a sort of triple jump. Appropriately enough, what is this weapon called?

Answer: Force-A-Nature

The Force-A-Nature (or FAN for short) is the Scout's unlockable primary weapon. It only holds two shells at a time, but is even more deadly than the Scattergun at close range. The Force-A-Nature is most useful for getting across maps quickly, or for ambushing enemies who are alone. The Scout even explains its power as being capable of sending a deer flying back into the woods!
3. The Scout moves fast, jumps high, and hits hard, but it wasn't always that way. The Scout was quickened and hardened by growing up in a rough neighborhood in what city?

Answer: Boston

The Scout grew up the youngest of several brothers in a rough part of Boston. He was a scrapper, but was always too small and could never keep up, so he never got a chance to fight alongside his brothers. His solution to this was to run, all the time, until he was fast enough to fight with the big boys.

Answer: Twelve

The Scout's Pistol holds twelve bullets at a time, and up to thirty-six extra bullets. Did you know that the Scout's pistol is identical the Engineer's? The only differences are that the Engineer can hold two hundred extra bullets in his big utility belt, and that the Scout like to add some flair to reloading by spinning the Pistol in his hand.
5. Even sprinting experts like the Scout get thirsty! Sometimes, the Scout likes to leave his Pistol in the resupply room, and instead brings a nice, cold drink along with him. Of his two beverage choices, which is the one that grants the Scout temporary immunity to damage?

Answer: Bonk! Atomic Punch

Bonk! Atomic Punch is a pop can with questionable ingredients that have been exposed to radiation. The Scout believes that radiation is "pretty great for givin' people superpowers", and it is, for about seven seconds, but at the cost of being able to use his weapons. This makes Bonk! very useful for bypassing large crowds of enemies, or pesky Sentry guns.
6. While one of his drinks may make the Scout invincible, he doesn't really like that he can't use his weapons while he's drinking it. Instead, sometimes he likes to chug his other favorite beverage, which makes his weapons a lot stronger. What is this drink called?

Answer: Crit-A-Cola

Crit-A-Cola is quite the opposite of Bonk! Atomic Punch. Instead of making the Scout invincible, it makes him more vulnerable to attacks by making all damage taken mini-crits. And instead of disabling his weapons, it makes all of his damage dealt mini-crits as well. It's a high-risk, high-reward item, but it's especially effective when ambushing a crowd.
7. As everyone knows, the Scout is an avid Baseball player. Naturally, his melee weapon of choice is a silver metal Baseball Bat. The Scout likes to use this when his enemies get too close for comfort. Which of these is NOT true about the default Baseball Bat?

Answer: It is the lowest-damaging melee weapon in the game.

The default Baseball Bat is actually only the second-lowest damaging melee weapon in the game, tied with the Sandman as well. The Spy's Knife has the lowest damage output, with the exception of backstabs. If you look closely at the left side of the Baseball Bat, you can see a large dent, likely from hitting so many people in the head.

It is also the fastest melee weapon in the game, and for some reason, the Scout swings it backwards when he critically strikes with it.

Answer: You can hit a baseball with it.

The Sandman is a very unique weapon, capable of hitting a baseball at an enemy. Close-range baseball shots will only do light damage, medium-range shots will daze enemies, and long-range shots will completely stun them. However, the Sandman reduces the Scout's maximum health by 15 when held, bringing it from 125 to 110.

It used to disable the Scout's double-jump, but this was deemed to be unfair.
9. The Scout's legs aren't the only things that move fast. He likes to run his mouth a lot, too. Which of these would you hear a Scout say after batting a Heavy to death?

Answer: "Eat it, fatty!"

The Scout has had a rivalry with the Heavy since before the game was even released! In the 'Meet the Scout' video, the Scout is shown getting into a brawl with the Heavy (and winning) while he brags about his skill in the background. Ever since then, the two have been locked in an endless struggle of speed vs. strength.
10. Being such a fast-moving class, it's common sense for the team to send the Scout after objectives, such as Control Points or the enemy intelligence. Which of these is NOT something that the Scout will holler when capturing the enemy's intelligence briefcase?

Answer: "I'm a freakin' blur here!"

The Scout likes to brag, so he'll often say things like, "I'm not even winded!" to show off his accomplishments after capturing the intelligence. The quote, "I'm a freakin' blur here!" is something that the Scout will often say while he's under the effects of Bonk! Atomic Punch.
11. It's a known fact that the Scout loves his Achievements, because it's written proof of his talent! Which of these Achievements is NOT earned using the Sandman?

Answer: Batter Up

Though all of the achievements are baseball-related, Batter Up is the odd one out. Batter Up is earned by performing 1000 double-jumps. Moon Shot is earned by stunning an enemy for the longest possible duration with the Sandman's stun ball. Out Of The Park is earned by batting an enemy twenty-five yards with the Sandman's Bonk! taunt kill, and Foul Territory is earned by causing an environmental death by stunning an enemy.
12. The Sandman isn't the only unlockable that can rack up Scout Achievements. In fact, there are achievements that involve every single one of the Scout's unlockable weapons. However, there is one weapon that the Scout never has to use in order to earn all of his achievements. Is that weapon the Scout's invincibility drink?

Answer: No

Bonk! Atomic Punch is used to earn the achievement Artful Dodger, which requires the Scout to dodge 1000 damage in one life while under its effects. The weapon that never has to be used to earn all of the Scout's Achievements is, in fact, Crit-A-Cola.

Although there is an Achievement (Retire The Runner) that requires you to kill an ENEMY Scout who is under the effects of Crit-A-Cola, you never really have to use it.
13. The Scout is a pretty young guy, so naturally, he has to keep himself looking good. That's where his hats come in! Although the Scout already has a default baseball cap on, there are also five other hats (and a 'hatless' item) that keep the Scout in style. Which of these is NOT one of them?

Answer: Football Helmet

The Football Helmet belongs to the Heavy, not the Scout. Ye Olde Baker Boy is a flat brown hat, the Whoopee Cap is a crown-shaped hat bedazzled with badges, and the Troublemaker's Tossle Cap is a red toque. All rather fashionable, though.
14. Aside from his five hats, the Scout is also one of the three classes to get a 'hatless' item. This is an item used in the head slot that actually removes the Scout's default hat, instead of replacing it. The Scout's hatless item is called Baseball ______'s Sports Shine. What name fills in that blank?

Answer: Bill

Baseball Bill's Sports Shine is the correct name for the Scout's hatless item. It shows off the Scout's small patch of baldness on the crown of his head, and also may imply that the Scout's real name is Bill. It also just may be a nickname, and since Valve just loves to keep their players guessing, we may never know.
15. For an extended period of time, the Scout had a bug that would occur sometimes when he was double-jumping. It has since been patched, but what was this bug?

Answer: His legs would flail around madly.

The bug, known by the community as the 'Crazy-Legs' bug, would cause the Scout's legs to disjoint themselves and flail around madly occasionally when he double-jumped, much to the amusement of everyone. If you got this question right, you are either a lucky guesser, or a true Scout Mega-Fan.
