Hephaestus told Sophitia of the evil sword SoulEdge, telling her to destroy it as not only would it bring great pain to the world, but it would put him to shame as he had not forged it. He bade her to come to the Eurydice shrine, where he granted her Omega Sword. All of Sophitia's weapons come with a different shield to protect her.

Spirit Blade is actually a weapon Taki uses, not Sophitia; although Taki can use Sophitia's Gaea Sword without the shield.

2. Siegfried Schtauffen was determined to find SoulEdge in order to kill his father's murderer; he believed only this sword could be used for his revenge. Who killed his father?

Answer: siegfried

Siegfried's father Frederick was a knight, who embarked on a foreign crusade, leaving Siegfried to his own devices. The young boy joined a gang of teenage thieves who called themselves "Schwarzwind", which is German for "black wind". When Siegfried's father returned from his quest, his son beheaded him to impress the Schwarzwind, not realizing that it was his father behind the knight's helmet.

When Siegfried realized what he had done, his mind snapped, and he convinced himself that someone else had killed his father, and thus set out to take revenge.

3. Heishiro Mitsurugi, a Japanese samurai, became a mercenary after seeing Japan torn apart by war. His final weapon is very powerful, but comes with a disadvantage - it takes strength from him when he strikes with it. What is this weapon?

Answer: Murasame

Mitsurugi sought SoulEdge to use against riflemen, as the rifle was just a new weapon, and the sword-wielding armies were not prepared in fighting against it. However, Mitsurugi failed to find the sword, and, frustrated, he challenged to a duel a man who was armed with the rifle Tanegashima. The rifleman defeated Mitsurugi with a shot in the shoulder, and he departed to improve his swordsmanship to the point where riflemen would not be a threat to him anymore.

His Water Moon weapon actually regenerates strength.

4. Seung Mina wanted to join the Korean coast guard, but could not due to being a woman. She then decided to prove herself by searching for and bringing back the cursed sword, SoulEdge, however she was intercepted and brought home by which other character?

Answer: Hwang

Seung Mina's father, Seung Han Myong (an unlockable character), wanted his daughter to settle down with a man rather than fight - his suitor of choice was Hwang Sung Kyung, a student of Han Myong's dojo whom he wanted to adopt into the family. Unaware that Hwang had already been sent on an official quest by the country to find SoulEdge, Mina ran away from home and started to search for the weapon herself - however, she was met by Hwang, who took her home with him. Back home, Han Myong constantly tried to get her to marry Hwang, which prompted Mina to run away yet again.

5. Rock's parents were killed when their ship was attacked by the pirate Cervantes de Leon. The ship sank, and Rock washed up on the shores of the New World. His final weapon regenerates his strength extremely quickly, and has a very powerful attack. What is it?

Answer: Great Ax

Born Nathaniel Adams, Rock received his nickname due to his strength and musculature. Cervantes attacked his parents' ship as they had SoulEdge aboard. When he washed up on the American shore, the Native American tribes were afraid of him, and he learned to live off the land himself. He eventually adopted Bangoo, an Apache boy whose parents had been killed.

6. After sealing himself inside the Money Pit of his master, an Italian weapon merchant known as the Merchant of Death, Voldo lost both his sight and his mind. He left the pit on his numerous quests to find SoulEdge, which he did because his deceased master's ghost told him to. Who was his master?

Answer: Vercci

Vercci dug his Money Pit after hearing that a war had broken out in Italy, and that his possessions would be first targeted. The 50 meter deep pit was to serve as his tomb, as well as hold his treasure. When the job was finished, he ordered Voldo to kill everyone who had worked on it, ensuring that the location would not become common knowledge. Voldo shut himself inside the tomb, slaying everyone who entered.

7. Hwang Sung Kyung learned to fight in the dojo of Seung Han Myong after losing his parents. Which weapon in his arsenal, which he won after dueling Sophitia in Greece, recovers his strength?

Answer: Sword Of Dawn

Hwang quickly became the best student in Han Myong's dojo, and became so good that he was allowed to receive a private lesson from Han Myong himself. As mentioned before, Han Myong wanted Hwang to marry his daughter, Mina, and to be part of the family.

However, this didn't happen: when a coast guard was set up, Hwang was first to volunteer for it, and eventually the Admiral sent him on a quest to find SoulEdge.

8. While fighting in Japan, Li Long was severely injured, and was rescued by a young girl who later became his lover, despite her inability to speak. When Long heard later that she was killed, he went on a quest to find her murderer and enact vengeance. What was his lover's name?

Answer: chie

Chie's father was an innkeeper, and in the inn she nursed Li Long back to health. Even after he recovered, he stayed with her, but a fight broke out when he was away, and Chie was thought to have been killed. With eyewitness events suggesting that the killer was lone swordsman Heishiro Mitsurugi, and after learning that Mitsurugi was searching for SoulEdge, Long set out to find it first in the hope that Mitsurugi would seek him out for the sword.

As it turns out, Mitsurugi wasn't the attacker; the swordsman (or woman in this case) was Taki, who hadn't attacked at all. Also, Chie hadn't died; she was pregnant with Long's child.

9. Cervantes de Leon became a pirate after his father was killed while on a mission as a sailor for Spain. He managed to track down SoulEdge on a request from a weapons merchant, and it devoured his soul, robbing his sanity. He uses SoulEdge as his Standard Weapon.

Cervantes' father, Philip, was sent out to loot in the name of Spain. He was killed when he approached an English ship to loot it, without realizing it was a warship. It attacked, and he was killed and his ship sunk. Cervantes became a pirate, thinking if this was what happened to sailors who swear allegiance to Spain, he wanted nothing to do with it.

It was Voldo's master Vercci who requested Cervantes find SoulEdge for him. After the sword took control of him, his insanity ensured he defeated anyone who came searching for SoulEdge.

10. An orphan, Taki was raised by ninja master Toki, and became an excellent fighter, demon hunter, and blacksmith. When her favorite sword began acting strangely and lost its power, Taki sought SoulEdge in order to restore it. Used as her standard weapon, which sword is this?

Answer: Rekkimaru

Taki began to grow suspicious of her master, Toki, and this was fueled even more when Toki sent her to kill innmaster Hachibei and his daughter Chie, as they had left Toki's clan, which ninjas were forbidden to do. Taki was to recollect the sword Mekkimaru from them, which Hachibei told her had been controling Toki, and begged Taki never to let Toki have the Mekkimaru again.

She obliged and left without harming the pair.
