Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of the jail you arrive from in "Morrowind" and begin inside in "Oblivion"?

Answer: The Imperial City Prison

In "Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind" you arrive by boat in a small port from the Imperial City Prison.
In "Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" you are approached by the Emperor Uriel Septim himself while serving your humble sentence. However, in both situations, you are not told what you're in trouble for, or how long your sentence is.

The Cells of Hollow Hand is the area of Arkngthand you can find the Dwemer Puzzle Box, an early Blades quest item. The others are imaginary.
2. Who was the first of the Septim line, the "founder of the Empire"?

Answer: Tiber Septim

The Empire has been in control of Tamriel for hundreds of years. The ill-fated emperor, Uriel, is the 23rd in the Septim family line of rulers. In "Morrowind", the Empire has a looser hold on politics than in other provinces.
3. What is the criminal organization that you may join in both of the games mentioned?

Answer: Thieves' Guild

In "Morrowind" the Thieves' Guild is an Imperial newcomer to two already established Dunmer guilds. The Camonna Tong is seen as evil, and can not be joined. The Morag Tong is a legal assassins guild that is hidden beneath Vivec, and can be joined.
In Cyrodiil, neither of these exist but the Dark Brotherhood does. It is a less formal, illegal, guilds of assassins.
4. What demonic humanoids are, arguably, the main "baddies" in the series?

Answer: Daedra

Daedra are formidable opponents. Mehrunes Dagon, the Daedric Prince of Destruction, caused the menacing Oblivion gates. Inside the gates, Daedra could also be the toughest opponents to face.
Daedroth are also reasonable opponents that you could find in Daedric ruins or Oblivion gates, and Dwemer were the local dwarven race in "Morrowind", before they disappeared many years ago.
5. What was the second "Elder Scrolls" game (on MS-DOS) called?

Answer: "Daggerfall"

I had this game on computer. However, I first got hooked on "Elder Scrolls" when I played "Morrowind". "Daggerfall" was quite laggy and full of bugs, possibly because the size of the world (thousands of times larger than "Morrowind").

Elsweyr is the home province of the Khajiit, and personally I hope there will be a chapter based there, because I love the Khajiit.
6. What is the combat quest line in "Oblivion" that is also a canton in Vivec ("Morrowind") and an early title in the series?

Answer: Arena

The "Arena" game was 2D but very sophisticated for it's time. It was going to be a sports game but it turned into Role-Playing and started a great series.

The Arena is very profitable in "Oblivion", and is a good source of items, training, and money.
7. In "Oblivion", is Open Average Lock an Illusion spell?

Answer: No

It is an Alteration spell.
If you are good at Alteration, it is an excellent idea to buy the lock-opening spells in both games. This almost eliminates lockpick use.
8. In "Morrowind", if an enchanted item has the word Velothi in it's title, what is it likely to restore?

Answer: Health

"Velothi's Tower Shield" is a useful, but cheap, Light Armor shield that restores 10HP with every use. In fact, many shields - Light, Medium and Heavy have the same ability.
9. Which of these creatures can be found in both Morrowind and Cyrodiil?

Answer: Clannfears

Clannfears are four-legged animals that look like dinosaurs. They can be a challenge for low-level characters.

Nix Hounds are basic creatures in Morrowind that often carry blight.
Mountain Lions are quite tough to kill and are quite plentiful in Cyrodiil.
Spider Centurions are a type of metal robot that can be found in Dwemer ruins.
10. Which of these did the Morrowind natives (the Dunmer) share with the now extinct Ayleids of Cyrodiil?

Answer: Being Elven

Dunmer (Dark Elves) have all these properties except for brown skin.

Ayleids aren't from Morrowind, they can't have skill bonuses because they're not characters, and nobody knows what skin colour they have!
