Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. First off, one cannot be recognized as a Traveler of Nirn if he or she does not even know what Nirn is! Humor me adventurer. What is Nirn?

Answer: The mortal plane

In more specific terms, Nirn is a finite body composed of both matter and magic taken from all of the god planets at the beginning of time. Nirn floats within Mundus, enveloped by Oblivion.
2. Which one of the et'Ada (original spirits), is responsible for the creation of the mortal plane?

Answer: Lorkhan

Any resident of Nirn knows of some variation of the creation myth, so I will go into only brief summary here for any readers who may be a bit rusty on the subject. It is widely accepted through most beliefs that Lorkhan tricked the other gods into creating the mortal realm.

After Lorkhan's treachery became apparent to the gods that remained after the creation (many Aedra were weakened by the process and vanished), Akatosh launched a great war against the offender. Eventually, Akatosh's greatest knight, Trinimac, defeated Lorkhan and stole his heart.
3. Enough creation! Lets take a moment to focus on geography. The seven known continents of Nirn are Tamriel, Thras, Akavir, Yokuda, Aldmeris, Atmora and which other continent?

Answer: Pyandonea

Pyandonea is the densely vegetated land of the Maormer, a sister race of the Altmer likely descended from the same Aldmeri ancestors. Not much is known of this enigmatic land, save for the information gained during the Maormeri invasion of Summerset Isle in 2E 486, which resulted in an Alinoru incursion into uncharted waters near Pyandonea.
4. The crown of the Septim Empire, Cyrodiil, is made up of several regions. What are they?

Answer: The Nibenay Basin, The Great Forest, Colovian Highlands, The West Weald, The Gold Coast, Jerall Mountains, Valus Mountains, and Blackwood

The Imperial province is largely forested, mostly landlocked, and heralded as one of the most beautiful lands upon Nirn. Cyrodiil was recently plagued with a particularly viscous daedric assault that damaged some of the beautiful terrain of the province.
5. While we are on the subject, let us discuss Cyrodiil in a bit more detail. Cyrodiil is known as the Imperial Province for a reason. It has been the seat of Three Tamriellic Empires, the current being the Septim Empire. Tiber Septim, the founder of this empire is known by many names throughout Tamriel. Which two of the following names are associated with Tiber Septim?

Answer: Talos, Ysmir

Tiber Septim was born Talos in the frozen continent of Atmora to the north of Skyrim. Upon becoming Emperor later in life, he took the names Tiber Septim and Ysmir, Cyrodilic and Nordic respectively.
6. Speaking of the Numidium, what was it?

Answer: A gigantic golem of Dwemer origin used by Tiber Septim to conquer Tamriel

The Numidium or Anumidum, (meaning Brass God), was created by the Dwemer Tonal Architect Lord Kagrenac. The Tribunal of Morrowind gave the golem to Tiber Septim as a tribute.
7. Lord Kagrenac also created Wraithguard, Keening, and Sunder. What are they?

Answer: Three tools used by the Nerevarine to destroy the Heart of Lorkhan

Before the Nerevarine was able to launch an offensive on Red Mountain, the general-reincarnate had to locate the three tools of Kagrenac. Keening and Sunder were recovered from Dagoth Odros and Dagoth Vemyn respectively, while Wraithguard was acquired from Vivec.
8. Speaking of artifacts, which one of these tomes is a magnificent read for any treasure-seeking adventurer?

Answer: Tamriellic Lore

Tamriellic Lore, penned by the the last known living Dwemer, (Yagrum Bagarn), is a brief list of many ancient artifacts rumored to exist throughout Tamriel, accompanied by a description of each artifact. Notable inclusions are Spell Breaker, the Mace of Molag Bal, and the Mehrunes Razor.
9. Molag Bal, the owner of his namesake mace, is known throughout Nirn as the Daedric King of what?

Answer: Rape

Molag Bal, the King of Rape, is the master of Coldharbour. He frequently interferes in mortal affairs with the sole purpose to harvest the souls of mortals and to bring mortals souls within his sway by spreading seeds of strife and discord.
10. Lastly, I would like to close this portion of the guide with an excerpt from The Red Book of Riddles. "It has a tail, a side and a head | I call it what I call a snake | It has no body and it is dead." What is it?

Answer: It must be a drake

The Red Book of Riddles is widely read throughout Nirn. Other companion tomes, such as the Yellow Book of Riddles, have been published.
