In the game there are a total of seventeen playable characters (six are hidden characters) which come from various toy and video game series (like "Metal Gear Solid" and "Transformers"). Simon Belmont (from the "Castlevania" series) was one of the three Konami characters that appear in the game that aren't hidden.

Though the "Ghost" cars don't actually follow you there are actually some old broken down cars in the game that are thought to be "Ghost" cars.

The Bodybags myth was also proven to be true (in El Castillo de Diablo you can find a pit of sand with seven bodybags).

Valus is the first colossi, Quadratus is the second colossi, and Barba is the sixth colossi. Phalanx is the thirteenth colossi and is one of the few colossi that can actually fly (the only other flying colossi is the fifth).

The Koopa King is the fastest (5 out of 5) kart in the entire game. The Wario Car has only 4 out of 5 for speed. The Turbo Yoshi has only a speed of 2 out of 5. The Boo Pipes has a speed of also 2 out of 5, making it the slowest heavy kart there is but unlike other heavy karts has a 4 out of 5 acceleration.

The Sand Shark is the only "Jak 3" vehicle in the game and is playable in both the main game and the tutorials and can be unlocked in the secrets menu. The Heat Seeker and the Dust Deamon were actually unlockable vehicles in "Jak 3" but don't appear in "Jak X: Combat Racing". The Havok V12 is already in "Jak X: Combat Racing" and can be unlocked by normal means.

In the game you don't operate on Derek Stiles. That's most likely because he's the main character and you can't perform major surgery on yourself. In the Wii remake version of the game, "Trauma Center: Second Opinion" you do perform surgery on Derek Stiles with Nozomi Weaver (the only other playable character other than Derek Stiles in the game).
