Werner Von Croy was murdered by Pieter Van Eckhardt, because Eckhardt's group found him useless.

Von Croy was trying to help Lara to get out of the pyramid quickly, because it was collapsing. Lara couldn't trust Von Croy, because he took the Amulet of Horus from Lara.
