Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these is not a method of reaching Booty Bay?

Answer: All of these are methods

Booty Bay, one of the most southerly points on the map of Eastern Kingdoms, is a major hub in terms of international travel for players. Approaching from the north, many players can enter it on foot from the sole footpath entrance or they can swim around the city (or waterwalk if you're fancy enough to do so).

The boat at the pier here can take players back and forth between Booty Bay and the neutral town of Ratchet in The Barrens on Kalimdor's east coast. Both cities rest on The Great Sea. The flight path (one for each faction can be found in the south end of Booty Bay) can go to numerous different locations depending on whether you're Horde or Alliance.
2. What type of pet can be purchased in Booty Bay?

Answer: Parrot

Much like other large cities, Booty Bay has one pet trader, in this case located within the Old Port Authority. Only two different birds can be found here- the Cockatiel and the Senegal. While a number of other bird companions can be found in the game (some even dropping from enemies in Stranglethorn Vale), these are some of the only ones which can be bought. Rabbits in different varieties (both in pet and wild form) can be found as well though both Monkeys and Toucans, as of "Wrath of the Lich King" are not available as companions. Since Booty Bay is a neutral city, both Alliance and Horde players can obtain these pets.
3. Grom'Gol Base Camp is run by which faction?

Answer: Horde

Grom'Gol Base Camp, situated on the western coast of Stranglethorn Vale, is a zeppelin-running outpost allowing players to travel via blimp to Tirisfal Glades (and Undercity), and Durotar (and Orgrimmar). Additionally, it's one of the southern-most Horde flight path locations in the game.

Many of the northerly quests to be completed in Stranglethorn Vale will be given by NPC characters in this outpost (though some can be given in the small encampment along the river to the north). A lot of these quests pertain to the various ruins around Stranglethorn and the beasts which dwell within them.
4. What is the name of the northern-most outpost in Stranglethorn Vale?

Answer: Rebel Camp

Full of lower-end quests for Alliance-specific players in Stranglethorn Vale, Rebel Camp is a completely Alliance outpost. This location is one of the northernmost locales in the entire zone, literally bordering the area to the north which, consequently, is also home to another Alliance outpost (though it's a contested area). Rebel Camp also contains one of the flight paths in Stranglethorn Vale taking players south to two different neutral cities and north to Darkshire and Stormwind City. There are no trainers in Rebel Camp and only one trader.
5. Which of these troll types does not appear in Bal'Lal Ruins?

Answer: Bloodscalp Rogue

Bal'Lal Ruins, found near the western coast of Stranglethorn, is one of the many troll-occupied locations amongst the ruins of the jungle. Much like the Ruins of Zul'Kunda to the north, Bal'Lal Ruins solely contains the different types of Bloodscalp Troll.

While tasks in Bal'Lal only contain quests regarding different drops gained from enemies, Ruins of Zul'Kunda quests are very similar, instead opting to force players to kill Headhunters to claim Shrunken Heads. Zul'Kunda also contains troll bosses.

The Ruins of Zul'Mamwe on the other hand, located to the east, contains Mosh'Ogg Ogres.
6. Which of these is not a boss that must be defeated as a result of the Mastery quest chains found at Nesingwary's Expedition?

Answer: Pitch

Completable by both Alliance and Horde players, the Mastery quests progressively hack away at the animal population of northwestern Stranglethorn Vale. In 'Raptor Mastery', players must defeat different Raptor types before ultimately fighting Tethis, a blue Raptor found outside Gurubashi Arena. 'Tiger Mastery' takes players to the forests of Stranglethorn to defeat Sin'Dall the tiger and 'Panther Mastery' inevitably takes players to Bhag'Thera the panther in a similar location.

After all of these are finished, the 'Big Game Hunter' quest can begin, during which you can defeat King Bangalash, a white tiger found atop a large hill across the river from Mosh'Ogg Ogre Mound.
7. The statue on Janeiro's Point is meant to mimic what other world-famous landmark?

Answer: Christ the Redeemer

Christ the Redeemer, found in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is the real-life version of the statue standing on Janeiro's Point (clearly, the name parallels it as well). Standing with arms open, both statues face out to sea. In the case of "World of Warcraft", the statue is used to welcome players arriving in Booty Bay via boat from Ratchet. Aside from a monumental statue, this island is also home to Mok'Rash, the elite sea giant you must defeat for the 'Monogrammed Sash' quest found in Booty Bay. This boss is quite difficult and should not be attempted unless in a group or at a high enough level.

It can be attempted by both factions.
8. Which powdery substance drops off the Bloodsail enemies on the Wild Shore?

Answer: Snuff

The Wild Shore follows along the southern portion of Stranglethorn Vale directly adjacent to Booty Bay. Inhabited by Bloodsail Buccaneers and the like, this pirate haven contains a number of Snuff-carrying enemies which, when the 'Up to Snuff' quest is active, will drop the substance.

A number of quests found in Booty Bay will begin and end on the Wild Shore including one found on a note in a half-buried bottle along the same stretch of coast. The 'Message in a Bottle' quest takes players slightly offshore to Jaguero Isle for a search and rescue mission.
9. Which region adjacent to Stranglethorn Vale has the highest level range?

Answer: Duskwood

Duskwood, found directly to the north of Stranglethorn Vale, is a contested area bordering Alliance zones. While its level cap is a touch lower than Stranglethorn's (Duskwood's is 20-30 while Stranglethorn's is 30-45), it's the closest in terms of its level range.

The only other genuine area linked to Stranglethorn Vale is Westfall, found to the northwest. This Alliance-based area with a level cap from 10 to 25 can be accessed by swimming around the northwest coast of Stranglethorn, taking players into a big Detour through the Great Sea. Elwynn Forest is found north of Duskwood and is the Human base of operations containing Stormwind City.
10. Zul'Gurub is the only dungeon in Stranglethorn Vale.

Answer: True

Zul'Gurub, found in the northeast of Stranglethorn Vale, is a rather high-level dungeon. Before the "Burning Crusade" expansion was released, raising the level cap to 70, Zul'Gurub was only for players at level 60, but it's certainly fine to play with a higher level after the fact. Containing thirteen bosses, numerous mobs, and a fairly difficult final enemy (Hakkar the Soulflayer), the instance is a suggested twenty-man raid on the lower end of the hardest dungeons in the original game (sans expansions).
