Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of the starting village for new Dwarf players?

Answer: Anvilmar

A quiet town kept in the Coldridge Valley, Anvilmar is a seemingly uneventful place. Although Anvilmar is simply a starter village, its quests and occurrences are somewhat necessary for new players as you'll likely reach level 5 or so before heading out. Anvilmar's quests will take players all around Coldridge Valley to defeat Troggs and wolves of many types. Anvilmar is found in the northern portion of Coldridge Valley while Coldridge Pass is in the northeast and the rest of the area to the south contains a number of quests and objectives.
2. What type of small animal can be found in Coldridge Valley?

Answer: Rabbit

Many of the zones in "World of Warcraft" will have an ample population of some small animal or another. In the case of Dun Morogh, players will discover that small rabbits and larger rams will be found all over the place. None of these are harmful- in fact they're actually level 1 critters.

Sheep can be found in nearby Loch Modan and many other zones in the vicinity while Snakes can be found in most desert areas (such as the Badlands, Durotar, and the Barrens). Prairie dogs are mostly found in the Mulgore region. Rabbits, however, can be found in most forested zones including the majority of Dun Morogh.
3. Kharanos does not contain which of these trainers?

Answer: Fishing

Following the road through Coldridge Pass, the road inevitably leads to Kharanos, a small town outside Ironforge which will house players looking for quests which will boost them up towards level 10. Found in the south end of Dun Morogh (though slightly north of Coldridge Valley), Kharanos is the central village for most of the zone's operations outside the major Dwarven city. Aside from First Aid, Cooking, and Engineering, players can also partake in Mining and Blacksmithing at this location, and if you're a Dwarf, it won't seem like a bad idea.
4. Which of these areas is not found in Ironforge?

Answer: The Rogues Quarter

Ironforge is found in the north-central region of Dun Morogh, and it's one of the most secure cities for Alliance players to visit in the course of the game. Populated by Dwarves, Ironforge is split into a number of different large halls and chambers.

The Mystic Ward is the home-away-fro-home for Mages, Priests, and Paladins, the Hall of Explorers is home to a number of quests, and Tinker Town is a Gnome area in the city which contains a couple of trainers and a tram to Stormwind City. The Rogues Quarter is found inside the Undercity, a Horde-only city in Tirisfal Glades that is also home to the Undead race.
5. The Grizzled Cave contains which of these?

Answer: Wendigos

The Grizzled Cave is slightly to the southwest of Kharanos, and because of its early location, it makes for a good cave for players to band together and fight their way through for the purpose of grinding, quests, or cheap drops. Although Dun Morogh is typically the only place in Azeroth to feature these large beasts, the "Wrath of the Lich King" expansion added similar creatures (albeit at much higher levels) in the Northrend zones and in colder regions.

The Wendigos found in the Grizzled Cave usually don't go much higher in levels than 6 or 7.
6. Brewnall Village is on the shores of which lake?

Answer: Iceflow Lake

Brewnall Village is the closest Dwarven encampment to Gnomeregan, the instance for Dun Morogh in the western hills. Regardless, Brewnall remains a rather important village to the Dwarves for another reason: ale. This small outpost is home to one of the most famous beer producers in Khaz Modan, and as a result most of the quests found here are gathering quests necessary for you to procure the important ingredients which fuse together to make the best Dwarven Ale in all of Azeroth. Iceflow Lake, a small body of water adjacent to Brewnall Village, is a frozen-over puddle on the map containing a few small islands. Similarly, Helm's Bed Lake, on the other side of the zone, is about the same size and is (for the most part) frozen over as well.
7. Shimmer Ridge Trolls drop which of these?

Answer: Shimmer Weed

On the other side of Iceflow Lake, players will discover Shimmer Ridge, a small couple of ridges (forming a chasm below) which is populated entirely by Frostmane Trolls, most specifically Frostmane Seers and Snowstriders. Although these creatures won't usually pass level 8, the area's precarious and it's easy to attract the attention of more than one Troll at a time. Shimmer Weed is an item found in various baskets and dropped of different Trolls in the area- they're not used for alchemy, but they are used in creating Brewnall Village's signature brews, so the most you'll see of Shimmer Ridge is on the quests for this small outpost.
8. Gol'bolar Quarry only contains hostile forces.

Answer: False

Gol'bolar Quarry is a relatively friendly area for any Alliance character, and for those dwarves emerging from the western half of the zone, Gol'bolar is a good stop to make as it contains a number of profession trainers (though most of them double up from Ironforges NPC hoard) and traders with which you can barter before you continue into the next zone. Gol'bolar Quarry Mine, the underground cavern in this area, was once quite prosperous for the Dwarves of Ironforge, but alas, it has been invaded by Troggs (and how we all love a good group of Troggs...). Most of these will still be under level 10, so most new players shouldn't find too much trouble.
9. How many paths lead into Loch Modan from Dun Morogh?

Answer: Two

The only zone which connects by pathways to Dun Morogh is the level 10-20 zone of Loch Modan. This zone is perfect for new Dwarf players to advance through once they've made their way as far as they can through Dun Morogh. In order to go into Loch Modan, players need to pass through either North Gate Pass which takes players to the northern region of Loch Modan (near Dun Algaz) or they can go through South Gate Pass, a similar path which takes players to the Valley of Kings south of Thelsamar. Other than this, Dun Morogh is pretty much isolated. Both Gate Passes can be found along the eastern mountains in Dun Morogh.
10. Which of these is the final dungeon in Gnomeregan?

Answer: The Tinker's Chamber

Gnomeregan is the only dungeon found in Dun Morogh, and despite the fact that it's a starter zone for new players, the instance packs a punch for anyone starting at about level 25. Populated by hostile Gnomes, players can sink deep into this once noble city via a lift platform and enter the instance through a portal in the Clockwerk Run (at the edge of the Train Depot).

The instance progresses to the Tinker's Chamber at the edge of the dungeon (though it's marked as the 'Final Chamber' at its entrance).

This room contains a small row of guards, but the only major contender inside is the level 28 Mekgineer Thermaplugg. Beating him finishes the dungeon. Gnomeregan is found on the eastern edge of the zone.
