Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of the island Link lives on?

Answer: Outset Island

Outset Island is where you begin your adventure on this game. Koholint Island is where another Zelda game entitled "Link's Awakening" (GBC) takes place. Mercay Island is an island where you begin the DS "Zelda" game "Phantom Hourglass". Bomb Island is another island in "Wind Waker" that is bomb-shaped and where a Heart Piece is earned if you beat a mini-game there.
2. What is the name of Link's sister?

Answer: Aryll

Tetra is a spunky pirate leader met by Link when the bird that kidnaps Aryll drops her in a forest. Medli is a member of the Rito tribe who learns of a special fate. Saria only appears as an image on a stanied glass window where the Master Sword is. Also, Saria is a childhood friend of Link in "Ocarina Of Time".
3. After Link was befriended by a boat known as the King of Red Lions, there was something he was too embarrassed admit. What was it?

Answer: He possessed no sail

The boat, first of all, said he possessed no sail. Then he presented Link an item called the Wind Waker. After the second tussle in Forsaken Fortress, the King of Red Lions told the story of how he was bested by Ganon and revealed Tetra to be Princess Zelda.
4. What is the Wind Waker?

Answer: A conductor's baton

The Wind Waker is used to play a melody to change the wind's direction. The magical leaf (Deku Leaf) given by the Deku Tree allows you to glide with the wind and blow heavy gusts of wind to stun enemies. Without any magic energy however, the leaf is useless.

The cannon is armed by Link while sailing to fend off surfing adversaries by firing bombs. The grappling hook is an item obtained in the first dungeon, Dragon Roost Cavern.
5. Makar is a member of which tribe?

Answer: Korok

Koroks make their first appearance in this game as wooden people that can fly. The Deku, Goron and Zora tribes are introduced in "Ocarina of Time" for Nintendo 64.
6. Why was Link's Master Sword useless against Ganondorf?

Answer: Its power was lost

The cause of the Master Sword's anti-evil aura being lost was because Ganondorf murdered two sages charged with praying to the gods to keep the blade's power from being lost. After this, it was a lock that suppressed Ganondorf's powers until Link unintentionally broke the hold.
7. Which melody must be played by the Wind Waker to change the wind's direction?

Answer: Wind's Requiem

The command melody allows you to take control of other characters like Medli or Makar, as well as some statues. The Ballad of Gales is used to warp to different locations of the Great Sea. The Wind God's Aria is played by Makar to help the Master Sword regain its lost power.
8. Which of the following is not an item in the Spoils Bag?

Answer: Exotic Flower

The exotic flower takes part in a trading quest. The Boko Baba Seed is gained by defeating a Boko Baba, an evil flower creature. The Blue ChuChu Jelly (it can be used to make blue potions that refills both magic and life energy) is defeated by beating a Blue ChuChu that protects itself from sword attacks by electrification. You earn a Skull Necklace if you beat a Moblin.
9. Which of these weapons cannot be obtained in a dungeon, but is mandatory?

Answer: Ice Arrows

The Ice Arrows, along with the Fire Arrows, are rewarded to Link by the Fairy Queen after rescuing Aryll from the Forsaken Fortress. The Hero's Bow is obtained in the Tower of the Gods. The Mirror Shield is obtained at the Earth Temple. The Hookshot is obtained at the Wind Temple.
10. Which of these bosses in the game can only be fought once?

Answer: Gohdan

Gohdan is a boss you face in the Tower of the Gods. He has only a head and two hands. The other three are the ones you engage in a rematch with in Ganon's Tower. Molgera is a sand monster that looks like a serpent. Jalhalla is the leader of the Poes who resembles an obese pig.

He is also vulnerable to light via the Mirror Shield. Kalle Demos is a plant monster with many vines it uses to attack and cling to the ceiling and a small head in the center of it that gobbles up Makar when first met.
