1. What is the name given to the British Isles in Manx?

Answer: Ny h-Ellanyn Goaldagh

'Ny h-Ellanyn' means 'The Island'. The other three choices mean 'The Azores' ('Asoar'), 'The Canaries' ('Canaaragh'), and 'The Summer Isles' ('Souree'). 'Innys' is also a Manx word for 'island'.
2. What is the Manx term for 'self', as in 'to defend ones self'?

Answer: Hene

'Heose' means 'inverted', 'Hiarn' refers to the Lord, and 'Heerg' is just a nonsense word. Incidentally, the Manx term for 'to defend oneself' is 'hene-coadey'.

Answer: False

This is false. In fact, there are a lot of words in the Manx language that begin with 'j'. More than most other letters.

Answer: Kerrin

Both 'vargee' and 'valley' mean 'market', so a 'market square' is 'Kerrin y Vargee' or 'Kerrin y Valley'.
