The Kingdom of Bhutan is a landlocked nation in South-west Asia. Located close to the Himalayas, the country has southern, eastern, and western borders with India and a northern border with China. In a Global Survey of 2006 by "Business Week", Bhutan was ranked as the happiest nation in Asia and the 8th happiest nation in the world.

The national flag is one of the more spectacular in the world. The central image is Druk the thunder dragon of Bhutanese mythology. The white and black dragon sits along a diagonal mid-line which separates the flag into an upper yellow triangle and a lower orange triangle.

The original dragon design first appeared in 1947 and is credited to artist Mayum Choying Wangmo Dorji.

Answer: Spain

The community of Ibias is in the northern region of Spain not too far from the Portuguese border. One of the major rivers of the region is also called Ibias.
The Ibias flag has five horizontal lines of blue-yellow-blue-white-blue from top to bottom. In the center of the flag there is a royal crown under which is a picture of a green dragon attacking a tower. A heavily armored soldier is battling the dragon with a long spear.

The country of Iceland is located at the confluence of the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans. East of Greenland and 500 miles from Scotland, Iceland sits just above the Northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge. It is one of the most sparsely populated of all the European countries.

There are many active volcanoes on Iceland and the vast majority of land area is a mountainous lava desert with a prevalence of geothermal activity and hot springs. The Iceland national flag is comprised of a white cross (that symbolizes ice) on a blue background (symbolizing the Atlantic Ocean).

Inside the white cross there is a red cross symbolizing the fire of the volcanoes. The Iceland Presidential flag is swallow-tailed in the same colors as the National flag. However, in the center is the Iceland coat of arms displaying a silver-edged red cross on a blue shield. Also appearing on the flag are the four protectors of Iceland: the bull, the griffin, the rock giant, and the dragon.

Russia covers a remarkable eighth of the world's inhabited land area. The country shares borders with Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Mongolia, North Korea, Norway, Ukraine and even the United States. Over 150 million people call Russia home, making it the 8th largest country by population in the world. Over 25% of the world's fresh water reserves also lie within the Russian Federation.

The Russian flag is tri-colored with three horizontal bands of white, blue and red.

The Standard of the President of the Russian Federation uses the Russian flag with a coat of arms emblazoned in the center. The coat of arms contains a two-headed, crowned eagle. In one talon it holds a sceptre and in the other a golden globe.

In the center of the eagle is an inescutcheon containing a representation of Saint George slaying a black dragon.

Malta has a land area of just 122 square miles and ranks as the 10th sovereign state in the world in terms of size. Malta is an archipelago located in the center of the Mediterranean Sea just south of Sicily. The capital of Malta is Valletta and the largest town is Birkirkara. Malta became independent from England in 1964 the same year that it was admitted to the United Nations.

The languages of Malta include Maltese and English. In 2008, Malta became a part of the eurozone. The flag of Malta is one of three National country flags that include a dragon, but it is also one of the hardest dragons to find.

The flag is a bi-color with a white half on the hoist side and a red color on the fly side. In the top left corner of the flag there is a symbol of the George Cross presented to Malta in 1942 by King George VI of England.

In the center of the cross, the eagle-eyed viewer will find an illustration of St. George fighting his nemesis the dragon.

Answer: Germany

Ingolstadt is a German city located centrally in the Free State of Bavaria. With a population of over 125,000, it is an important economic participant in the Munich Metropolitan area. Ingolstadt has many claims to fame beyond the setting for Shelley's novel "Frankenstein".

In the late 18th century, "The Illuminati" (a secret religious society) was founded in Ingolstadt. The city is also the headquarters of Audi and Cassidian Air Systems. The city lies on both the Danube and the Schutter rivers just to the southwest of Regensburg.

The flag for Ingolstadt has four horizonatal bands of alternating white and light blue. In the center of the flag is an upright blue dragon.

Biala Podlaska has enjoyed being a cross-roads of sorts for major European travel routes passing through Poland. International road route (E-30) from Madrid to Paris passes through the area. In addition, road and railway routes linking Moscow, Warsaw, and Berlin also pass through Biala Podlaska.

The city was established in 1481 and serves as the capital of the Lublin Voivodeship in Eastern Poland. The city's flag is a vibrant standard with four horizontal stripes of white, green, yellow and red from top to bottom.

In the center of the flag is a coat of arms depicting an armored winged angel standing atop a green dragon's belly.

Answer: China

China is the largest country in the world by population and the largest Asian country in the world by land area. From 1644 until 1912, the country was ruled by the Qing Dynasty. This was the last imperial dynasty in China following the Ming dynasty and preceding the Republic of China. The Qing Dynasty chose a blue dragon on a yellow background to represent their rule. Indeed the dragon was a part of China's national flag from 1862 until 1912.

Answer: Macau

Macau is one of only two Special Administrative Regions of China, the other being Hong Kong. Macau was a former Portuguese colony having been first settled by Portuguese traders in the middle of the 16th century. On December 20th of 1999, Macau was officially handed over to China. Macau is located in the South China Sea on the Western side of the Pearl River Delta.

It continues to be an important trading port but also hosts a successful tourism industry with a large number of casinos operating successfully on the island. During the period 1976 until 1999, Macau's government used a flag with a light blue background centered with an official coat of arms.

In the center of the coat of arms was a yellow dragon holding five white circles between its talons.

Answer: Wales

Wales is a country that is found bordering England in the western part of the British Isles. It is a largely mountainous region with over 750 miles of coastline and a population of over 3 million people. Wales also has jurisdiction of a number of offshore islands including Anglesey which is the largest island in the Irish sea.

The Welsh flag is one of the most recognizable flags in all the world. A large winged red dragon with a forked tongue and tail stands vibrantly out on a horizontal bi-color background of white and green.
