The Union Jack is the name given to the flag of Great Britain. The thirteen- star version of the 'Red, White and Blue' was unfurled on 14 June 1777. The current version, with 50 stars, came into effect on 4 July 1960.

The flag of the International Committee of the Red Cross features a red cross on a white ground; the reverse of the Swiss flag of a white cross on a red ground. This flag was adopted in acknowledgement of Henry Dunant, the Swiss national, who co-founded the Red Cross after seeing the carnage of the Battle of Solferino in 1859.
