The Seven Seas Lagoon was built in the 1960s and opened to the public alongside Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom amusement park in 1971. Guests are transported across the lagoon via ferry boat from the resort's parking lot. The lagoon has a maximum depth of 14 feet.

Kentucky Fried Chicken is the largest chain of fast food restaurants specializing in fried chicken and side orders that include mashed potatoes, coleslaw, corn on the cob and more. Harland David Sanders, its founder, began the company by selling his uniquely prepared fried chicken in a small diner in Corbin, Kentucky. Sanders, later, expanded his restaurants by adding franchise stores throughout the United States.

He passed away on December 16, 1980 at 90 years of age.

Extending over 2000 miles in length, U.S. Route 66 was one of the original highways in the U.S. Highway System and spanned eight states. During the Depression era, the highway was used by migrants in search of work in different states. In 1985, this historic highway was removed from the official highways list and many portions have since either been replaced by various segments of the Interstate system or have been designated with Historic Route 66 signs as part of the National Scenic Byway system.
