Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many floors are there in the Mall of America?

Answer: 4

There are 4 floors total. 3 of which are for general shopping. The fourth (top) floor is all entertainment activities and a few restaurants. In fact, if you want to go to a night club while in town, the 4th floor would be a good place to check out.
2. In what Minnesota city is the Mall of America located?

Answer: Bloomington

The mall is located on the same land where the Minnesota Twins once played baseball...before they moved to the Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis/St. Paul.
3. Before it became Nickelodeon Universe, what was the name of the amusement park in the center of the mall?

Answer: Camp Snoopy

At one time, almost everything in the park was Peanuts (TM)(R) related. Another interesting fact, this park is also the largest indoor amusement park in the NATION! :)
4. Each level of the parking garage, all the way around the mall, is named after what?

Answer: A U.S. state

It's kind of fun to think you can travel between Hawaii and Nevada just by going up one/down level. There are more states than there are parking sections in the parking garage. If you ever forget where you parked, here's a little tip: Eastern states are on the East side of the building (Between Macy's and Nordstrom's) and Western states are on the west side of the building (between Sears and Bloomingdale's).
5. True/False: Sears, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom and Macy's were the first four nationally recognized department stores to be together under one roof, in the Mall of America.

Answer: True

Each of these four stores takes up their own corner of the mall. And not only do they take up a corner, they have all 3 floors of shopping in that particular corner.
6. True/False: Up until 2006, "Sam Goody Central" was one of the main major events areas in the mall.

Answer: True

Just about every major event in the mall used to start in this area. But by 2006 the store had become unprofitable, and was closed by its parent company, Musicland Holding Corp, along with 340 other Sam Goody stores.
7. There are __________ changes in the stores and the location(s) of said stores.

Answer: Constant

Pretty much every time you walk in the mall, something has moved/will be moving or added to the mall. There have been quite a few changes in the general layout since it opened in August of 1992.
8. What major facility practically shares the mall's backyard?

Answer: Mpls/St. Paul International Airport

The airport, being so close, is one of the big reasons the mall does so well with tourist traffic. There are even buses that travel back and forth from the mall to the airport on pretty much an hourly basis.
9. How many food courts are there in the mall?

Answer: 2

Yup, only two. North Food Court and South Food Court. It may seem like there are more, but (officially) there are only two.

10. True/False: You can be officially married at/in the mall.

Answer: True

If you enter the mall via Bloomingdale's on the 3rd floor, the "Chapel of Love Wedding Chapel" will be on your right. If you're facing Bloomingdale's from the main hallway on the 3rd floor, it will be on your left.
I've never done it...but have thought about it since it's cheaper than a flight to Las Vegas (the mall is only 15 miles from my house).
