The 1st Infantry division patch is a green pentagon with a big red one in the middle.

The initials AA are inprinted on the 82nd's shoulder patch, below the words "Airborne". The 82nd made drops at Normany, Sicily, and Salerno in World War II.

The 1st Cavalry (Airmobile) Division fought the first major battle of the Vietnam War- Ia Drang. The 1st Cavalry is (August 2004) now the largest division in the US Army. "Anime et Fide" means "courageous and faithful".

Answer: Sua Sponte

Sua Sponte which is Latin for "Of Their Own Accord". The Rangers are an elite group that took part in the attempted capture of the Somali warlord General Aidid in Operation Restore Hope. He was not captured during that raid, or any raid, he was killed in 1996.

The day after, General Garrison who led the raid in 1993 retired. 1st and 2nd Ranger Battalions took part in the Normandy landings in 1944.
